Back to the Future (1985)
Question: Why do Marty's brother and sister get erased from top to bottom, and Marty just fades? Why can't they just all fade?
Chosen answer: The way I understand Doc's explanation, Dave and Linda were both erased completely because Marty interfered with their parents' meeting; thus the three children were erased from existence, from oldest to youngest. Marty only begins to fade because the timeline corrects itself before he gets erased completely.
Super solid explanation, but I think the original question is asking why Dave and Linda literally disappear from top to bottom in the photo: in other words, Dave's hair is erased, then his whole head, then his feet, and Linda also disappears similarly. When we see Marty start to disappear in the photo, it is his whole body that starts to fade all at once, instead of vertically like his siblings.

No, he's wearing a regular suit in the restaurant scene, if you're talking about the one where he and his ballerina date sit down with Harvey and Rachel.
I don't know what you think the definition of a tuxedo is, but it's equivalent to a dress suit or dinner suit (or even black tie). So basically, dress shirt, dress shoes, trousers and a jacket.
There's a distinction between a tuxedo and a suit, and what Bruce is wearing isn't a tuxedo. There's also a difference between a dress suit and a dinner suit, also known as a black tie, so dress suits and dinner suits are not equivalent. What British refer to as a dinner suit is what Americans refer to as a tuxedo. Wearing a suit at dinner or a black tie doesn't make it a tuxedo.
So what makes a tuxedo?
The type of jacket and pants (or trousers), and often the shirt, shoes and accessories. Satin on the jacket lapel and side of the pants and pants without belt loops. Usually a tux comes with a pleated shirt with studs instead of buttons. Often you wear a bow tie and cummerbund, but it's not necessary. A casual or dress suit is made out of all the same material with acrylic and uncovered buttons.

Question: Why is the mob using that type of TV in order to do their video conference with Lau? Where is the camera?
Answer: It was a one way conversation. They could see Lau, but he couldn't see the mob. They had use retro television which is below the radar. They couldn't take the chance the Dark Knight had sophisticated equipment to trace the signal.
Not sure this answer is accurate. It is definitely a 2 way conversation, as Lau answers questions. Plus it looks like he is visually reacting to seeing the Joker walk in the room. None of which should be possible given that type of television that's being used, but that might be something for the mistakes section.

True Lies (1994)
Question: How did Aziz know Harry and Helen were at the building just before they kidnapped them?
Answer: Most likely from Juno Skinner. When Harry approached her in Washington, he gave a business card, his cover identity, which most likely contained his phone and address numbers.
In all fairness, any guesses I would have would be strictly speculation. But this is likely not the answer. As we saw in the movie, Harry's fake job came complete with a phone number and a fake secretary, who Helen knew by name. If Harry went through those lengths to hide his identity from his own wife, surely there would not be any clues on a fake business card that could lead a terrorist to him. Even Juno herself mentioned that Harry "checked out OK."

Question: What was the eventual fate of the Earth President? His 'A113' message ends with him muttering about "getting the hell out of here" which would suggest he went on the space liners with the other humans but no further mention is ever made of him.
Answer: He almost certainly boarded the Axiom, and lived out the remainder of his days in luxury.
Actually, I think he stayed on earth. In the message, he says Earth is beyond saving, and that everyone should remain in space and not return to earth. He then puts on a gas mask, accepting that Earth is a lost cause. There'd be no need for a gas mask if he was aboard the Axiom. Also, we see the message was sent to the Axiom in 2110. If you look at the date of the 1st captain, it is 2105. So, he stayed on earth to clean up the planet, and after 5 years they deemed it a lost cause and sent that message.

Question: If Marty and his brother and sister are fading from the photograph because they are being erased from existence, wouldn't that mean that the moment when the photograph was taken would also be erased from existence? If so, why doesn't the photograph itself disappear instead of just the people in it?
Chosen answer: The photo itself didn't disappear while the people were fading because the people in the photo were still in the picture. First, Marty's brother was erased, followed by Marty's sister, followed by Marty himself. Since, Marty's brother was erased, his sister and himself would have remained in the photo until they were erased. So really, the photo wouldn't have disappeared until all the people had been erased, since no-one would have been in the picture.
Completely agree with this answer. However, as far as the photo itself is concerned, I don't think it would have disappeared, strictly because of what we have seen in the series. Two examples I can think of: the picture of the gravestone, and the fax that Marty got saying he was fired (both instances in BTTF3). When time was altered, the things on them disappeared (the gravestone, and the "you're fired!" printing), but neither the photograph nor the fax paper itself disappeared.

Back to the Future Part II (1989)
Question: When Marty arrives back in the alternate 1985, he's attacked by a black man when he unknowingly breaks into what he thought to be his home. Could this man be former mayor Goldie Wilson?
Answer: No, it's a different character and a different actor. Goldie Wilson is played by Donald Fullilove. The dad with the bat who chases Marty out of the house is played by Al White.
That doesn't necessarily mean that it's two different characters; George McFly, for example, was portrayed by both Crispin Glover using archived footage from the first film and Jeffrey Weissman in newly filmed footage. While the character played by Al White is credited simply as "Dad", there's no confirmation either way whether this was an alternate version of Goldie Wilson.
The answer is correct, the Dad is not meant to be Goldie Wilson. In the novelization of the film, he's given the name "Lewis." And while some characters were recast, Donald Fullilove (the actor that played Goldie) himself already appears in "Back to the Future Part II", so it's not like they recast him.
Unless there's any indication it's the same charector, or at least a clue to point in that direction, then there's no reason at all to assume it "might" be.
While there was no clear-cut answer on whether this was Goldie, I think it is safe to assume it is not him. This franchise has shown to make recurring characters very noticeable, even minor ones, such as the homeless man that Marty recognizes in 2 different timelines. Yes, sometimes actors get recast, as they did with George McFly and Jennifer Parker, but they made it quite clear they were playing the same character. I see absolutely nothing that would even suggest this was Goldie Wilson.
Jeffrey Weissman is credited as "George McFly", Crispin Glover is credited as "George McFly (archive footage) ", Donald Fullilove is uncredited but listed as "Goldie Wilson II" (on imdb). Al White being credited as "Dad" actually confirms to a T that he is not "Goldie Wilson" and nothing in that scene even remotely suggests that the family father portrayed by Al White might be Goldie Wilson from 1985-A (other than a viewer seeing a person of color and drawing conclusions). There also is no cause to question whether or not the "Dad" was supposed to be any other person of color seen in any of the 1985 timelines. (Not that another POC in that timeline would come to mind).
Glover is not credited the same way as Fullilove is since he's credited only as "archive footage" and Fullilove is uncredited. Glover doesn't physically appear in part 2 as Fullilove did.

Answer: Also, the 1985 Goldie Wilson's picture was shown on a moving vehicle in part 1, and he looked very different from the father with the bat in part 2.
Answer: It could not be Goldie Wilson. In 1955, Goldie Wilson looks to be around in his early 20s in the cafe. This would put him to be early 50s in 1985. The father only looks to be in his 30s.

Question: How could they possibly remove Archer's bullet scar? If they could, wouldn't that just create a bigger scar?
Chosen answer: Surgical scar removal is a real thing, usually involving skin grafts or lasers. Keloid scarring is a result of the body aggressively attempting to heal/repair itself after trauma or injury (in this case, the gunshot). With proper surgical techniques, the body isn't traumatized to the point that deep scarring occurs. Of course, just like with the face surgery, the movie exaggerates the results of the scar removal.
I thought he kept it.
He says he wanted to keep it at the beginning of the movie, but when he is about to have his face changed back at the end of the movie, he says he doesn't need it anymore.

Corrected entry: When the villains have made their lousy landing at the airfield and the police are coming, Cyrus opens a box with shotguns and throws one to his fellow convicts. The next scene shows the convict catching the gun, and it has somehow turned into an M-16.
Correction: There were three different boxes. One (the one Cyrus opened) contained the shotguns, behind him was another box that contained the M-16's, and the third box on the left (the one Diamond Dogg opens) contained the grenade launchers that were used to blow up the propane tanks.
While this is true that the crates carry different weapons, the original mistake is pointing out how Cyrus picks up a shotgun, tosses it to Swamp Thing, but the weapon Swamp Thing catches is an assault rifle. This is a valid mistake.

Corrected entry: When Johnny tries to rape the female guard, Poe comes to the rescue and knocks him out. Poe then handcuffs him to an overhead rail with both hands in the cuffs over the rail. Yet after the crash, while the police are doing clean-up, they drag away Johnny leaving one arm hanging off, as if Poe put only one of his hands in the cuffs, and one cuff on the overhead rail. Even with one arm severed, they couldn't naturally have got out of that position without the severed arm going over the rail, in which case it would be lying on the floor with the rest of him.
Correction: We don't see Johnny the whole time from the cuffing till the crash. There would have been enough time for somebody, even Poe, to uncuff one arm so that Johnny could be better prepared for the imminent crash.

Corrected entry: At the very end of the film beside the Nord des Lignes truckstop, John McLane makes a phone call on the Canadian payphone. However he has only collected American quarters from the German drivers and hence wouldn't have any Canadian Currency.

Ocean's Thirteen (2007)
Corrected entry: The replaced shuffling machines were rigged, but they had no way to trigger them at the precise time the greco went down.
Correction: The shufflers were triggered by the ultrasonic pulse triggers Danny's crew were carrying (i.e. those lighter-looking things they used to manipulate the dice, roulette balls, and shufflers).
I'm not sure this is accurate. The lighters are shown to manipulate the dice only. There is no indication that they trigger any of the other rigged pieces like the balls. We only see Danny and Rusty with the lighters, who are at the craps table. However, to still correct the entry: the rigged card shufflers I believe were on the whole time. The Greco was designed to see if people were cheating, not the machines. Danny and company just needed to make sure any rigging/cheating they did was while the Greco was down, and they remained at the craps table. As long as they didn't cheat at blackjack while the Greco was operational, then the rigged shuffling machines could have just stayed on. It is actually in their best interest for the rigged shufflers to remain active, so that the casino would continue to lose money to guests who would just think that they are on a good streak.

Back to the Future Part III (1990)
Question: Doc is quite a resourceful and clever guy. Why didn't he set to work on repairing the flying circuits which would have enabled them to use Mr Fusion to reach 88mph, instead of the engine?
Answer: Mr fusion only powers the flux capacitor. The engine is needed to get the car up to 88mph whether flying or not and the only way to get the car any power is by the use of petrol, which didn't exist in 1885.
At the beginning of the movie, when 1955 Doc reads the letter that 1985 Doc sent to Marty, he reads that the lightning bolt activated the time circuits and at the same time destroyed the flying circuits. Because of this, the Delorean will never fly again.
These answers are correct. Plus, to the original question: as clever as Doc is, keep in mind he got the flying conversion done in 2015. Definitely no way he would have been able to repair something so futuristic with 1885 tools at his disposal. He couldn't even get gas.
Yet just a few years later he had built from scratch a flying time-traveling locomotive, all with 1885 tools and parts.
There's no indication he built the flying train in 1885. It's suggested he had been time traveling with his wife and kids and says he's already been to the future. Whether this is in the DeLorean or the train it's not clear, but the dialogue suggests he's been to the future in his train with the family and could have modified his train to fly with future technology.

Back to the Future Part III (1990)
Question: Back in 1885 why doesn't Doc change the letter he sent to Marty, asking him to bring a can of gas?
Answer: When Marty received the letter from Doc in 1955, as seen in the second movie, Doc wrote down that he didn't want Marty to go to 1885 to rescue him because he was happy living in the past. Instead, he wanted Marty to take the Delorean straight back to 1985 and then destroy it so it could never be used for personal gain again.
But once Marty appears in the past Doc could easily change the letter, changing things such that Marty would bring gas with him.
Answer: This would create a different timeline, not the timeline they are in.
Answer: That would not be possible as in 1885, Doc sent the letter on September 1st, and 1955 Doc sent Marty to 1885 on September 2nd so it was a day later and on the 1st, Doc was not expecting Marty to turn up. However, one CAN ask why Marty and Doc didn't go to the local Western Union office and change it (or write a new one) there since it was in their possession per the gentleman in part 2.
Changing the letter while Marty is in 1885 with Doc would accomplish nothing, because it doesn't it instantly travel to the future. Marty at the end of Part II, for his part, may receive the letter almost immediately, but the letter itself had to wait 70 years to be delivered to him.
I mean, there's no solid rules to time traveling, but just for argument's sake it seems like the letter idea could work... in the franchise, when something is set in motion, the effects usually take place immediately. Take for instance when George and Lorraine kissed at the dance in Part 1. The picture of Marty and his siblings went right back to normal, even though the kids had not been born yet. Doc and Marty changing the Western Union letter "could" have had an immediate effect and a gas can could have materialized in the Delorean, much like we've seen newspaper headlines change before our very eyes, disappearing gravestones, etc.
In your examples, the changes occur to future events. The items that changes, like the picture and newspaper, are from the future themselves. They can't change the past by changing events in the future (like they do in Bill and Ted's). This is why Doc and Marty couldn't go back to 2015 to stop old Biff from taking the DeLorean.

The Prestige (2006)
Corrected entry: When Angier and Cutter show the machine to Ackerman in the abandoned theater, it is shown that, after Angier enters the machine, he completely disappears. No duplicate is left behind. Since it is not a completed scenario, there is no trap door for a duplicate to fall in. He is seen disappearing, leaving none behind, and appearing at the other side of the theater to Ackerman's surprise. However, at the end of the movie it is revealed that this machine never disappeared anybody, it just created duplicates at a certain distance. So why didn't a duplicate remain in the machine when they showed it to Ackerman? And if the reason is that they could fix it, so a duplicate wouldn't remain, then why would they still create duplicates for the rest of the film? This little scene breaks all the logic of the film. Correction: It would not be unusual for magicians to ask theater owners for time to setup their trick beforehand so they don't give away their secrets. It's likely they had a previous off screen meeting with Ackerman where they set up the meeting we see and the trick is shown to him.
This entry shouldn't be corrected it is 100% valid. Very good observation. I was going to write the same thing before I saw this entry. Ctown28 corrections doesn't even fit to the entry.
I respectfully disagree. Great observation, yes, but this entry is absolutely correctable. When we see Angier perform the trick for Ackerman, it is at a rehearsal facility (Cutter makes note of it). The trick is completely set up before either Cutter or Ackerman arrive (keep in mind, Angier wanted Cutter up front, not backstage for this trick). The trick is set up and performed in full: trap door, with the tank underneath, Angier duplicates himself with one version drowning in the tank, and the other appearing as the prestige. The trap door IS there, the duplicate IS made (and killed), but we cannot see either in this scene. We are left to be just as bewildered as Mr. Ackerman, with the true nature of the trick to be revealed to us later.
Rewatch the scene. It is clear that there is no trapdoor, and no duplicate is left behind. The FX guys should've applied more light if we're supposed to believe that Angier falls through a trapdoor and we just couldn't see it. But it is shown that no duplicate falls through any trapdoor. This is never acknowledged.

Corrected entry: When Frost, the black guy, got bitten he turned into a vampire within a few seconds. After Jacob got bitten it took him half an hour to turn into a vampire.
Correction: Maybe because he's a priest.
I find this way too speculative with nothing in the movie to really back this correction up. What we do see in the movie, however, is that when characters get bit on the arm, it takes a little longer to transform into a vampire. Sex Machine gets bit on the arm, just like Jacob, and it takes quite some time before he turns as well.

Corrected entry: When Nick and Rachel board the flight from New York and are sitting in their 1st Class pod, they are sitting talking before take off and Rachel has painted nails, but when they arrive in Singapore she does not.
Correction: A nonstop flight from New York City to Singapore is roughly 18 hours. Sounds like more than enough time for Rachel to remove her nail polish.
It seems highly unlikely someone would remove their nail polish on a flight, but anything is possible.
I don't think nail polish remover is approved to take onto an airplane as it is very flammable.

Chosen answer: It is revealed afterward that he had fixed the autopilot on his aircraft. At some point prior to the explosion he bailed out and the craft continued on without him, taking the bomb far enough away for him to survive the blast.

It's not clear that he actually survived We did see him in the end but Alfred could have been imagining that Bruce was there It's up to us to decide if that is the case or not But it's not confirmed that he survived.
The Dark Knight Series has not been one to play with elements of imagination, or really leave things up to audience interpretation. I will relent that Christopher Nolan has a knack for this in some of his other movies. But here, things have remained pretty clear cut throughout the trilogy. We see that Bruce fixed the autopilot on The Bat, he basically delivers a map of the Batcave to Blake. And Alfred, being of sound mind and body, sees Bruce in a cafe at the end. Bruce survived.
