Continuity mistake: After the Wicked Witch turns the hourglass over and leaves, Dorothy walks back towards her throne. If you look closely the book of spells, which has not been touched, is open to an entirely different page then when we saw it earlier in the scene. (01:18:15)

Continuity mistake: At the start of the "lions and tigers and bears, oh my" sequence, Dorothy, the Scarecrow and Tin Man are all standing separately, then the shot cuts and they're suddenly arm in arm. (00:48:45)

Continuity mistake: When they emerge from the woods before looking at the Emerald City, Toto runs up and stands on a rock with no tree anywhere near it. In the next shot from behind, a tree appears next to the rock. (00:54:35)

Revealing mistake: As the Wicked Witch throws the hour glass down at them the stone statue on the left of the monkey is shaking. (01:24:45)

Continuity mistake: Glinda tells Dorothy, "Their magic must be very powerful…" and Dorothy has her left hand around Toto. In the next shot she's holding the flowers in front of her. (00:30:20)

Revealing mistake: As the Tin Man holds on to the Lion's tail, the seam in the painted backdrop behind them is very visible going from left to right across the entire sky. (01:20:05)

Continuity mistake: In the Wicked Witch's room, she puts Toto in Dorothy's basket which now has a lid on both sides of it. Later when the boys come to rescue her, Dorothy walks over toward the hourglass, and picks up the same basket and it now has no lids on it (like earlier in the movie). (01:17:20 - 01:23:50)

Audio problem: As they all stand at the door to Oz, Dorothy reaches for the knocker and we hear the overdubbed knocking sound before she touches it. (00:58:45)

Continuity mistake: As the Tin Man crowns the Cowardly Lion watch closely as he flings his ax behind him and it falls off the edge of stage. Two shots later its back again resting on the steps. (01:06:00)

Continuity mistake: As the Wicked Witch throws her hour glass at them we see behind her as she stands on the balcony, and her broomstick is definitely not anywhere near her. As she runs down the stairs, it's in her hand. (01:24:45)

Continuity mistake: After the Wicked Witch turns the hourglass over and leaves, Dorothy is crying and has wet spots on her dress from the tears. In the next shot her dress is dry. (01:18:05)

Visible crew/equipment: The four run away from the guards and leave the tower where the Wicked Witch is eventually melted. If you look closely in the two long shots from above them, the Tin Man reflects the bright stage light that is placed below them at the first bend of the walkway, on top of the Witch's castle. Continuity mistake: The Tin Man starts chopping the Witch's door and it's not the same one we just saw three shots before. The wood is a different color and the dark metal brace has been polished in the close-up. (01:23:40)

Continuity mistake: As they enter the scene with the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow falls and then jumps over a patch of weeds growing in the middle of the Yellow Brick Road. In the next shot he does the exact same thing only about three feet behind the patch of weeds that he jumped over before. (00:48:00)

Continuity mistake: When the mayor of the Munchkin City comes out of the doorway his over sized watch reads 5:30. In the next shot it reads 5:00. (00:25:40)

Visible crew/equipment: As the talking trees throw their apples at Dorothy and the Scarecrow, look closely at the upper right hand side of the screen. An off camera crew member is shaking one of the trees back and forth as all of the others stand motionless. (00:40:20)
