Corrected entry: The address listed for Catherine, on Divisadero street, does not exist in San Francisco - the street stops before it gets to that number.

The Island (2005)
Corrected entry: When the helicopter crew arrive at the facility to collect Michael Clarke Duncan's liver, one of them says they only have half an hour before the weather gets too bad to fly. However when Ewan McGregor reaches daylight (at most a couple of hours later) there are clear blue skies in all directions.
Correction: By that time the dust storm had passed.

Blackadder (1986)
Corrected entry: While it is conceivable that Flashheart would be so lost as to be unaware of which side of the lines he crashed on, it is absurd that he would mistake a uniformed British officer for a German. The uniforms are completely different - they aren't even the same colour. 'Friend or foe' recognition was hammered into pilots at every stage of their training to prevent them accidentally bombing or strafing their own side.
Correction: Blackadder is not a historical drama. It is a comedy. Flashheart is an idiot, and so obsessed with himself or certain he's right that no one else matters. All he saw was a soldier, so he attacked.
Adding deus ex machina explanations for mistakes does not invalidate them. Flasheart is an officer in the Royal Flying Corps and though he is shown as a narcissistic braggart, he is not an idiot. As part of his training, "Friend or foe" recognition would have been ground into him in order to prevent him strafing his own lines. Besides, excusing a mistake because "it's a comedy" invalidates countless postings on this site.

Waterworld (1995)
Corrected entry: It is a known scientific fact that a planet without land will create waves rising from 500 to a thousand feet. This is because there is no land that can break the waves' rise. This would make the surface uninhabitable by any man-made structure or vessel especially with Waterworld's current human technology. Waterworld barely has any waves.
Correction: It is not a known scientific fact. It is one scientific theory that is impossible to prove. Computer models can only begin to guess at the effects of no land above water. And in Waterworld there is at least one landmass which they find, and there are probably more as the melting ice-caps are not sufficient to cover the entire surface.

I, Robot (2004)
Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie when Spooner and the Chief is at the bar, Spooner get up and says "I have to take a raincheck" and then picks up the tab for the beers. He pays for 2 beers but there was a total of 3 beers consumed. 2 by Spooner (The robot takes one away and gives him 2) and 1 by the Chief.
Correction: No mistake. He only pays for his own beers. Or he could have already paid for the first beer he drank.
He says "here let me get that" and pays - it's likely that he paid for his first round before the chief arrives.

Superman III (1983)
Corrected entry: Robert Vaughn uses the super computer to try and kill superman whilst Richard Pryor looks on helplessly. But when Pryor first pitched the idea of the computer to Vaughn (along with the blueprints), he said that the computer would only do what HE told it to do.
Correction: He didn't mean it literally, like voice-print analysis or something. He knew that Vaughn's character knows nothing about computers, so Pryor would probably be the one entering the commands for him.

The Mummy (1999)
Corrected entry: When Rick and Jonathan (along with Adbetpai) go to see Winston, they are traveling in their car. In the scene before, they escape through the sewer system. They crashed the car earlier and left it on the other side of town. How did they fix it without the zombies getting them?
Correction: They went back later when the zombies had gone. Once The Mummy had gone, the zombies were no longer under his power and returned to their ordinary lives.

Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995)
Corrected entry: In the scene where everyone is talking to Simon for the first time in the police station, the psychiatrist says that Simon was giving clues to his identity, and that one of those clues was his speaking in German. Simon never spoke in German during that conversation.
Correction: Simon speaks German in his first line on the telephone in that scene.

Ocean's Eleven (2001)
Corrected entry: When George and Matt are in the lift and they drop the glow sticks not all of them light up but when they fall to the bottom of the lift they are fully alight. (01:23:50)
Correction: It generally takes 1-2 seconds for the chemicals to mix and fully light up. The longer the stick, the longer it takes.

Red Dwarf (1988)
Corrected entry: When Rimmer (in Lister's body) is scoffing food under his sheets, Lister (as Rimmer) wakes up and leaps off the top bunk and he makes a thud as he hits the floor, now seeing Lister is a hologram in this scene he shouldn't have made a noise on impact with the floor.
Correction: As he is a hologram, he shouldn't be able to lay in abed without falling through, use the lifts, or get any traction on the floor when walking. If you can accept that he can also see and hear despite being made of light, you should be able to accept that Holly has programed the light-bee to emit fotstep sounds when he walks/lands to make him appear more human.

Red Dwarf (1988)
Corrected entry: In "Marooned", Lister asks Rimmer about how he lost his virginity and Rimmer says he lost it so a girl from cadet school called Sandra but in "Thanks For The Memory" (series 2), Rimmer says he only had sex once and that was with Evonne McGruder.
Correction: Rimmer is lying, trying to sound like he has been with more women. He was very drunk back in "Memory" and is trying to cover up that mishap (Hence his comment about the walnut interior of the Bently).

2010 (1984)
Corrected entry: When Dr. Floyd is briefed on the chemical analysis of Europa, he acts positively astonished at the prospect of living things on that world. But why would this be a major surprise to him? The presence of extra-terrestrial life would be interesting to him, but not surprising, since he had already known of E.T.s years earlier when the TMA-1 had been discovered.
Correction: At first they are amazed at chlorophyll being on Europa. They are amazed that such a common 'Earth' chemical can be found on other planets/moons, the implication being it could be everywhere in the galaxy.

Eastenders (1985)
Corrected entry: Alfie and Spencer Moon's grandmother (Nana) only had one child who was their father. So who fathered their cousins Jake and Danny Moon?
Correction: The term 'cousin' is a little misused in the show. Nana's Husband (William) had a brother, who had children, who had Jake & Danny I believe.

The Mummy (1999)
Corrected entry: Something concerning the treasure chamber: since it is illuminated by daylight reflected by the mirrors, there should have been a noticeable opening available for the light to stream in, making the chamber more easily detectable. But it is not until close to the end - after several days of searching - that the treasury is found from within the ruins.
Correction: The mirrors were in place so that the people building/filling the chamber thousands of years ago could see. Once they finished building, they sealed the chamber. Thousands of years later, the chamber is re-opened by our heros who re-use the mirrors.

Jurassic Park (1993)
Corrected entry: In the scene with the raptor in the kitchen, the raptor breathes on the window and fogs it. But reptiles are cold-blooded, which means their insides, and consequently their breath is the same as the ambient temperature. The glass would not fog.
Correction: Firstly, Modern-day reptiles are cold blooded, and it is believed that that dinosaurs are more closely related to birds then reptiles. It was only the first discoveries of dinosaur bones and calling them 'lizards' that the idea of cold blooded reptiles stuck. Secondly, just becuase a reptile is cold blooded, it does not mean that the body will not heat the inhaled air slightly. The body needs a temperature rise to carry out vital chemical processes. Thirdly, we do not know how much moisture was in the Raptor's breath. It had recently been outside in VERY humid conditions and was probably very warm. It has then entered an air-conditioned building and breathed on cold glass. The humidity and body temp would not have altered instantly, it would take several minutes, maybe over an hour.

National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985)
Corrected entry: When Clark is taking a Polaroid of the family, the photograph just 'flies' out of the camera. Polaroids don't do that, they come out slowly and partly stay secured to the exit rollers until they are pulled out.
Correction: That's the point: He has bought a defective camera. Just like everything he buys/does: It goes wrong.

Star Trek: First Contact (1996)
Corrected entry: When Picard leaves the bridge with the first landing party, he leaves Riker in charge of the bridge. A few scenes later, he orders down an engineering detail; a few scenes after that, Riker is now on the planet surface (in the missile silo with Picard, Data and Troi). Perhaps there is a scene on the cutting room floor that accounts for this apparent dereliction of duty? (00:17:15 - 00:23:40)

Cube (1997)
Corrected entry: All the characters seem to have a purpose (math, leadership, escape artist, etc.) except for the character, Alderson(?), who dies in the very beginning. Why would those who run the cube bother to put someone who has either no skill or one we never came to know in a room where they would die immediately? The other characters seemed to have gotten a fair chance in that they didn't wake up in a booby trapped room. I don't believe even the cat burglar would have survived if he woke up in the same circumstances.
Correction: He was put in to die. By letting the others know how fatal the place could be, it would panic them even more, thus making it more fun and sadistic for the builders.
He was put in a white room like everyone else. He died in the room he went into not the room he started in. It was literally the only thing he did.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991)
Corrected entry: When searching the crew quarters, a magnetic boot is found in Dax's locker. The locker door either shows damage in the paint when the scene had to be re-shot or it's the device to hang a non-magnetic boot onto a non-metal door. This is evident both when Valeris hangs the boot on the door and when Chekov removes it later on. (01:10:25)
Correction: It is someone's locker that is probably opened/closed 3 or 4 times a day. It is bound to show some wear and tear.

Star Trek: Generations (1994)
Corrected entry: It is difficult enough to believe that a missile not much longer than an average car would be capable of destroying a whole star, but if you can swallow that, how come when it does finally explode on the launchpad it only produces enough of a blast to kill the bad guy while Picard and Kirk are presumably only a few yards away behind some rocks?
Correction: As was discussed in the film, the missile contains stolen trilithium which will set off a destructive chain reaction in the star. The actual explosive yield is negligible, it is not explosives that destroy the star but the chemical chain reaction interfering with the fusion reaction of the star.

Correction: This is very common in films. Just like using fake 555 phone numbers. It prevents people from dialing those numbers and visiting those address. Not a mistake.
