Unfaithful (2002)

Corrected entry: When Richard Gere hits the book dealer in the head there is no way hitting him on top of the head would have killed him because the part of the brain that controls heart, lungs etc is at base of the skull. Even if the brain stem was in top of the skull the snow globe would shatter way before it fractured the skull. It would have had to be almost solid glass.

EMTurbo

Correction: There was no indication that the blow to the head by the snow globe had killed the book dealer. The book dealer could have been simply knocked out due to the blow, and then died from blood loss.

Identity (2003)

Corrected entry: If the real D.O.C. officer was stabbed in the back through the seat wasn't there a big blood spot on the driver's seat, and wouldn't there be a hole? Didn't anyone notice that, especially Ed, the ex-cop? Why didn't the hooker notice it when she saw the radio wires were cut? (01:15:50)

EMTurbo

Correction: Ed never got a chance to get into the car. Rhodes insisted that he'd manage the radio so he didn't give anyone a chance to get into the car. The two criminals obviously would have cleaned the blood when Ray started to pretend to be Officer Rhodes. When the hooker gets into the car, she already started to realise that Ray is not who he is supposed to be. The discovery of a "hole" would be irrelevant by then.

Dreamcatcher (2003)

Corrected entry: How was that electric fence supposed to contain the worms? The wires were 12-18" apart and the worms are only about 6" in diameter. They wouldn't have a wire too close to the ground or the snow would short it out. This would be easy for the worm to crawl under. The Army DID know about the worms because one of the head officers referred to them as the "s**t-worms".

EMTurbo

Correction: The electric fence is not there to contain the worms - it's there to contain the people. Morgan Freeman and his team are concerned about citizens leaving the area and spreading the "ripley"(that red stuff,) as well as the worms, to other parts of the country. The symptoms of a worm infection are pretty obvious, so it would be a simple matter for one of the guards to remove an infected person from the general population and deal with it. Freeman has a line, something to the effect of: "no one will survive this." He doesn't mean that they will all be killed by the aliens - he means that he intends to kill all the survivors in the area, to prevent contamination of other areas. As usual, it's explained a little better in the book.

Cabin Fever (2002)

Corrected entry: When the cops are burning the bodies Winston says there's one in in the basement but there is no basement ever shown or mentioned prior to that.

EMTurbo

Correction: Well we don't exactly get a grand tour of the cabin. There could very possibly be a basement that we just don't see.

Corrected entry: If this one is supposedly within the same 23 days as the first movie, why is that he can fly around in this movie but had to drive that big panel truck in the first one?

EMTurbo

Correction: He could fly also in the first movie, he only did it after they realized who he was. He just used the truck to scare them and not to seem as obvious.

Correction: The creature also is desperate for organs since the second film takes place right as the 23 days are up, so he isn't as concerned with secrecy as he is in the first film.

Freaky Friday (2003)

Corrected entry: How is it that a guy working at a high school and a coffee shop can afford a Ducati motorcycle? The average price for a Ducati is around $10-15 thousand. His parents can't have bought it, as if they were that generous he wouldn't be working two jobs.

EMTurbo

Correction: Parents could pay half and he has to pay the other half. There are also payment plans for vehicles. An adult can sign for the plan while the kid pays for it. Many parents do this for their kids so the kid has transportation but isn't getting it for free.

Jeepers Creepers (2001)

Corrected entry: This creature only gets to eat every 23 years for 23 days (as revealed in Jeep Creep 2). Why would it waste time fixing up that old truck to go so fast when it can fly?

EMTurbo

Correction: It uses the truck to scare people so it can smell their fear and decide if there's something in them it likes without drawing too much attention to itself. By JC2 it is into the final day so it is desperate to stock up on organs, and not too concerned with secrecy any more.

Shay

Corrected entry: The kids on the bus make a comment about it being hours since the creeper was there but when the farmer finds the station wagon it still has smoke/steam coming from the front. After a couple hours I wouldn't think there would be any steam coming out as the engine would have cooled off by then.

EMTurbo

Correction: We don't know exactly when the Creeper attacked the old couple. It can fly pretty fast, and there was a large gap of time when it wasn't attacking the kids. It's possible it had only crashed the car a few minutes before Taggart finds it.

Shay

Correction: They actually say that it's been "almost an hour" since the creeper last appeared so it actually hasn't been all that long.

Corrected entry: When Trinity and the keymaker are about to jump off the overpass you see almost the end of the second half emerge from under the overpass as they jump. By the time they should have landed on the trailer it would have been at least 20 feet down the road but they land at the front of the second half.

EMTurbo

Correction: This entry would get an A in physics, but is not relevant here. Speeds are continuously slowed down and sped up so that we the viewer can get the best idea of what is going on. We see this jump in different speeds of slow motion, so this type of analysis is not accurate.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Bourne is chasing the other sniper at the farmhouse he reloads the shotgun and throws the spent shells down on the ground. Wouldn't his instincts as an assassin have told him to "police his brass" and maybe put them in his pocket? (01:28:01)

EMTurbo

Correction: I don't think this qualifies as a mistake under the "Why" rule. He probably should have done, but he didn't - a personal mistake maybe, but not a movie mistake. Also, you don't worry about 'policing brass' while your victim is fleeing!

Ghost Ship (2002)

Corrected entry: The girl that survives was maybe about, what, 10ish? I would think she would have been tall enough that if all the adults got sliced just about in half, she'd probably have been decapitated.

EMTurbo

Correction: If you watched, the captain ducked her down so she wouldn't get sliced. That's why he was sliced through his mouth.

Play the opening scene slowed down on YouTube and you can see the Captain simply hugging the little girl (Katie) as the wire makes its way towards his face. The wire started moving at waist height through most of the passengers, the only explanation of this error would be that the wire had some sort of spasm midway through its travel and found its way up high the second half of its trip, thus cutting the Captain from the mouth. If the wire would have remained at waist height, Katie would have definitely been killed, maybe not cleanly decapitated from the neck, but for sure anywhere around the head.

If you watch it again in slow motion, the Captain and the girl were in the middle of the dance floor so there's simply no way to explain it other than the fact the creators wanted the girl to survive while providing a shock factor (i.e. camera pans onto the Captain's head bisected horizontally). In the original script, there was no cable mass bisect scene but the girl had a fate different from the rest of the guests as well, so the girl surviving the initial massacre was always intended.

Waterworld (1995)

Corrected entry: Why did Costner's character have to use that timer thing to gauge how long he is underwater? He has gills so he should be able to breathe underwater therefore he wouldn't have to limit his exploring time so much.

EMTurbo

Correction: The timer was to trigger the winch to pull up all the loot.

Correction: My theory on this is so he can make sure his awesome boat isn't left unattended for too long but that's just my thoughts.

Correction: Considering how scarce fresh water is and how easy it is to desalinate seawater, there could be chemicals in the sea after the war. Maybe the he sets the timer because he knows that staying down much longer will make him sick.

Grumpy Scot

Correction: Could be he was timing for the sleeping cycle of the large sea creatures roaming the oceans. He doesn't want to be caught so deep when those things show up.

Dreamcatcher (2003)

Corrected entry: If the guys can hear each others' thoughts why did Henry have to walk to go get the snowmobile? Why didn't he just have Beaver or Jonesy bring it, and oppositely why didn't Beav and Jonesy send Henry and Pete an S.O.S. about the "shit-worm"?

EMTurbo

Correction: It is made clear near the end of the movie that they have to be within a certain range of each other for the messages to work. Near the end Henry is saying "Just get me in range". They may have tried to send a message but realised they were out of range.

Days of Thunder (1990)

Corrected entry: When the good doctor is lecturing Cole on being an "infantile egomaniac" she mentions him driving around a track with 40 other "infantile egomaniacs". Technically if she was stereotyping all of them there would be 42 others on the track. Winston Cup runs a field of 43 cars.

EMTurbo

Correction: This film was made in 1990, 43 cars weren't run in a Winston Cup race until 1994. In 1990 it would have been 41 in the field.
