Corrected entry: When Lone Starr and Dark Helmet engage in their Schwartz battle, Dark Helmet accidentally "kills" one of the film's crewmen. As he falls, the crewman lets out a Wilhelm scream.

Castle (2009)
Corrected entry: Upon discovering Alexis has been abducted, no one thinks to call her mother Meredith. Even with Castle's dislike of her, surely she deserves the right to know something has happened to her child. And since Castle frequently paints her as an over-the-top drama queen, one would think he would prefer the drama of simply telling her the truth, rather than not telling her and having her find out that he didn't tell her.
Correction: I'm pretty sure Castle was smart and responsible enough to tell Meredith what's going on. Just because we don't see him do it or even bring it does not mean that he never did. Also, she wasn't important to the story, and maybe she was too busy to actually come out. Even if she wasn't, what could she do to help?

Bikini Wax - S2-E18
Corrected entry: When Tony brags about how much his tie costs, Kate comments that it's no secret how much Tony makes because they all work together. But in "The Truth Is Out There" in season 1, Tony refuses to share how much he makes, claiming it is a personal detail.

Casino Royale (2006)
Corrected entry: This is the first Bond film in which both of the Bond girls are killed.
Correction: Jill and Tilly Masterson are both killed in "Goldfinger", Paula Caplan and Fiona Volpe are both killed in "Thunderball" and Naomi and Felucca are both killed in "The Spy Who Loved Me".

Hollywoodland (2006)
Corrected entry: A TV executive says that, if "The Adventures of Superman" is picked up for a second season, it will start filming in color. That show wasn't shot in color until season three.
Correction: There's two times filming in color is mentioned, neither mention the fact they will start filming in color. Art tells George that Kellogg's ordered more episodes and only says that they want to film in color (but doesn't say when and doesn't say they will start to film in color). Prior to that, the discussion of filming is color is brought up when George is putting on a grey Superman suit, but the only thing said about it is if it's picked up then maybe they'll film in color.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014)
Corrected entry: While the film revolves around Ryan, and without him there's no story, he takes part in the operation to stop the terrorist attack, even though, as an operative of the CIA, its charter prohibits him from operating within the United States.
Correction: Incorrect, the CIA can and does operate in the US. The CIA is permitted to act within the US to address the specific areas of foreign intelligence, counter-intelligence, and terrorism (which is exactly what they were working on). They don't operate in the US in regards to domestic threats, which is FBI jurisdiction, although they can give aid if needed. See E.O. 13470. (Specifically section 1.7).

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)
Corrected entry: When Finn and Rey find the Millennium Falcon on Jakku, Rey calls the ship "garbage." In A New Hope, when Luke first sees the ship, he calls it "a piece of junk."
Correction: And in Empire, Leia refers to it as a "bucket of bolts". And in Jedi, Lando refers to it as a "hunk of junk". It's a running theme with the Falcon.

The Day of the Jackal
Corrected entry: The British SIS stumbles upon the Jackal's assumed identity when they discover he applied for a passport under the name of a deceased individual. But when the Jackal was in the early stages of his preparation, he obtained Duggan's birth and death certificates, the latter of which he destroyed; there's no mention in any other chapter of another copy existing. And the Jackal is too much of a professional to make such an unprofessional, amateurish mistake like leaving such a copy for a police detective to find.
Correction: No governmental agency will turn over the original copy of a birth or death certificate. What the Jackal obtained was, what we call in the US, a certified copy.

Blazing Saddles (1974)
Corrected entry: Mel Brooks originally wanted Gene Wilder to play Hedley Lamarr. Wilder felt he wasn't right for the part, and asked to play the Waco Kid.
Correction: Wilder was hired after the movie started shooting because Gig Young, who was to play the Waco Kid, began foaming at the mouth during the jail cell scene due to extreme DTs. He went to the hospital and Wilder jumped into the part.

The Sandlot (1993)
Corrected entry: In Mr. Mertle's house, an Atlanta Braves pennant is visible on the wall. It is established that the film takes place in 1962, but the Braves didn't move to Atlanta until 1966.
Correction: It was not an Atlanta Braves pennant on the wall. It was a Milwaukee Braves pennant.

The Wheaton Recurrence - S3-E19
Corrected entry: In previous episodes, it's mentioned that Leonard is lactose intolerant, but at the bowling alley he eats from a plate of chili cheese fries.
Correction: Just because he's lactose intolerant doesn't mean he can't have dairy (as opposed to Howard's peanut allergy where he can't have any peanut product). In fact, in several episodes others have made fun of Leonard's flatulent as a result of him having dairy, evidence that he's had dairy products before.

Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995)
Corrected entry: Dick Cheney makes a cameo as an NYPD police official.
Correction: That is not Dick Cheney. Although the director said it was in an interview, it was later revealed he misspoke and that was not Mr. Cheney. Here is a copy of a trivia entry on IMDB regarding this: On the DVD commentary Director John McTiernan mentions that Dick Cheney appears in a scene. He actually says "here he is", but Dick Cheney is not in the film - the person shown in the scene has a slight physical resemblance but is not Dick Cheney. The director made an error.

The Scout (1994)
Corrected entry: Al makes a promise to Steve that, if he signs with the Yankees, he won't have to pitch unless the team makes it to the World Series. But players aren't allowed to play in the post-season if they're not on the 25-man roster by the end of August.
Correction: There's no mistake here, just because Steve would have to be on the 25-man roster doesn't mean Al wouldn't lie to get Steve to sign.

Unnecessary Roughness - S7-E16
Corrected entry: At the Peach Pit After Dark, David and Tom are preparing for Super Bowl weekend. But the Super Bowl is played at the end of winter, and the gang is all about two weeks away from graduation, which occurs at the end of spring.
Correction: The graduation doesn't take place till episode 31, which aired in May. While preparations may have been made for graduations, they certainly were never 2 weeks away from graduation and no mistakes were made.

Sid and Nancy (1986)
Corrected entry: When Sid is being interrogated about Nancy's murder, a detective asks him "Did you call 911?" The 911 emergency number wasn't implemented in New York until 1984.
Correction: The first major American city to have it was New York City, on July 1, 1968.

W. (2008)
Corrected entry: When W. is giving George Sr. a tour of Arlington Stadium in 1990, they comment in passing that it was a mistake to trade Sammy Sosa. By the end of the 1990 season, Sosa's career was relatively unremarkable: he was hitting a career .242, with just 23 home runs and 96 RBIs. It wasn't until 1998 with the Chicago Cubs that Sosa's stardom really took off.
Correction: They still saw it as a mistake. In '89 the Rangers used two young outfielders (Sosa and Juan Gonzalez), but Juan stayed in the minors for most of the '90 season and didn't perform as Sosa did. In '89 the White Sox finished 7th in the division and then in the '90 season finished 2nd, above the Rangers who finished 3rd.

The West Wing (1999)
7A WF 83429 - S5-E1
Corrected entry: The Secret Service's code names for the First Family all begin with the same letter. Since President Bartlet's code name is "Eagle", Zoey's code name would not be "Bookbag", but instead would also start with an 'E'.
Correction: While it may traditionally be done, it's not a rule and not a mistake. In the past, some members of the First Family have had names starting with different letters (Rose Kennedy for example), and some presidents and First Wives have been given two code names with different letters (Barbara Bush was Snowbank and Tranquility).
