Vantage Point (2008)

Question: In Thomas Barnes' perspective, near the end of it, he orders the studio guy to rewind the tape and then he says "stop", followed by "oh my god", but when the complete terrorist plan is shown, he instead stays staring at the monitor because he's watching Taylor. Is this a mistake, or are these two separate events? If it is the second one, what did he see in his perspective?

Answer: From what I remember, it's the former. When Barnes says "stop," he adds "rewind that." Once the tape is re-round, he watches it run through, which is then when he spots Taylor.

Question: Whenever the agents are interrogating somebody at SCT, they sometimes torture them. By doing so they sometimes stick a needle into somebody and injects something into their bloodstream. This causes severe pain in the person as you can see them either scream or see the pain etched on their face as they try to hold it in. What is it they are injecting into people and how does it work that it causes so much pain?

SAZOO1975

Chosen answer: It's a fictional drug called hyoscine-penothal. I don't know if why it causes so much pain has been explained, but it's been described as a neural inflammatory; it gives the feeling of "every nerve ending in your body on fire." It's a useful tool because if one doesn't yield soon enough, at 8 cc's, one can go into cardiac arrest and die before giving up any useful information.

Dogma (1999)

Question: I want to sit down and watch all the Jay and Silent Bob Movies, so can someone PLEASE tell me all the movies in the order you're supposed to watch them. Thanks.

Answer: There are two ways: (1) the order in which they were released: Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II; or (2) the chronological order: Mallrats, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II. There's only a very short time between the events of Mallrats and Clerks though, and any crossover is limited to incidental references, so it doesn't really matter.

Answer: It's on the Special Features disc. With "Season 7 Preview" selected, press up on the remote. There should be a small "24" that appears. Press that, and you'll get the scene of Jack and Chloe on "The Simpsons."

Question: Could the police in the film legally pursue Ted Danson's son (Macauley Culkin) the way they did? Merely possibly knowing about a crime doesn't seem like grounds for arrest.

Answer: I think they can. Using a measure called preventive detention, law enforcement agents can prevent a crime before it happens.

Cubs Fan

Answer: Oh far more than that! He could face charges as an accessory to the crime, and or blackmail.

Mr. Brooks (2007)

Question: What type of personality disorder does Mr. Brook have, is compulsive killing part of it, and is it really genetic?

Jason Riley

Chosen answer: It sounds like Dissociative Identity Disorder. And I think compulsive killing is something he chooses to do, and not connected to his DID; and from skimming the article, it doesn't appear to be genetic.

Question: Was Nina recruited as a spy before she joined CTU or after? Also, as she wasn't working just for the Drazens, what was her primary mission?

Answer: According to Jack in season 5, Nina was "deep cover" before the pair ever met, so it's safe to assume she was recruited before she joined CTU. As for what her primary mission was, who knows? Perhaps it was to gather sensitive intel and pass it on to her superiors. Given that she worked for an intelligence agency, it's not a stretch. Or perhaps we may find out in season seven.

Question: How did Luke get off the Death Star before it exploded? We never actually see it happen in the movie, or do we?

Answer: He piloted a shuttle out of the hanger. There is a quick shot of him in the cockpit and the shuttle leaving the hangar, which is followed immediately by an explosion.

Question: What are the "accidents" that Jar-Jar caused and got banished for?

Answer: It's never stated in a canon source, but according to Wookipedia, the accidents were: (1) destroying a gasser oven during a party Boss Nass threw, and (2) crashing Boss Nass' heyblibber, which is essentially a more luxurious version of a Gungan Bongo.

Apollo 13 (1995)

Question: One of the mistakes listed for this film says that Lovell's daughter Barbara slams a copy of the not-yet-released Beatles album "Let It Be" into her rack. How can you tell what album she's holding in that scene, when you only get a split-second glimpse of it? Without using slow-motion or freeze-frame (which is not permitted for mistake submissions), it doesn't seem possible to conclusively identify the album in question. Or is the background music for that scene a song from that particular Beatles album?

Answer: "Let It Be" has a very distinctive cover. If you look at the cover, and then re-watch that scene, you should recognize that it is indeed that album.

Question: What happens to Arwen in the end? Does she die like a human, remain in Middle Earth forever (as Elrond predicted she would) or travel to the Undying Lands after the other elves?

Blibbetyblip

Chosen answer: She dies as a human. In order to marry Aragorn, she had to give up her immortality. In "Fellowship," she tells Aragorn that she would rather live a mortal life with him than live forever without him.

Answer: Guest stars must share screen credit with one or two other guest stars, but Yulin wanted his name to appear alone. The producers wouldn't allow it, so Yulin decided to remain uncredited.

Cubs Fan

Chosen answer: According to IMDB, Wilson's role was originally just a cameo (thus no need for a credit), but his character tested well with audiences, so his role was enlarged.

Road To Perdition (2002)

Question: What happened to the Aunt that lives at the lake house?

Answer: We never find out. But, if I remember correctly, in the graphic novel, the aunt is killed prior to the (O')Sullivan's arrvial (although not by Maguire; that character was created specifically for the film).

Cubs Fan

Answer: I don't know about the book, but in the movie, I have to assume McGuire killed the aunt before they arrive, and the dog was hers. When Michael leaves, he takes the dog.

Answer: My guess is that after she got off the phone with Mike S. She either died or caught wind of what happened to Mike S. Family and hauled ass.

I thought that too. But the dog was left behind.Unless that wasn't their dog.
