Continuity mistake: In a hotel room at the start, Bond finds Ronson bleeding. Note the amount of blood on his chin coming from his mouth. In the shot where Bond opens Ronsons's jacket partway to see the blood, there are a bit of dripping blood going down his chin. In the shot where Bond leaves the room, there is suddenly a huge blob of blood on the left side of the Ronson's lips that wasn't there before. (00:01:35)
Continuity mistake: When Bond leaves the Istanbul hotel, there is an extra visible to left side of the door walking on the sidewalk. The shot cuts and there is suddenly no sign of the extra. (00:02:10)
Factual error: In the very beginning of the film the Audi A5 is chased by the Landrover. At a point the Audi makes a right hand handbrake turn, which is impossible since the Audi has an electronic handbrake, not a manual one. (00:02:35)
Continuity mistake: Whilst Bond and Eve are chasing Patrice in the jeep, Eve smashes one of the wing mirrors and she then says, "Wasn't using that one either." After this line, the expression on her face changes between shots. (00:02:45)
Continuity mistake: In Istanbul, Bond goes to the mosque. When he approaches the mosque, the exterior shot is of the Sultan Ahmed mosque or "Blue Mosque" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sultan_Ahmed_Mosque). When Bond is inside, the interior is actually of the much older, nearby "Hagia Sophia" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hagia_Sophia). (00:04:35)
Continuity mistake: As Bond chases Patrice over the rooftops of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul at the start of the film, in the close ups of Daniel Craig his tie can be seen noticeably flapping over his shoulder (as you would expect). But in the long shots with the stuntman it doesn't move about at all, presumably having been fixed in place for safety. (00:04:40)
Factual error: In Turkey the first two numbers of a vehicle licence plate belong to a city. Number 34, for example, is for Istanbul. The motorcycle chase in the beginning of the movie takes part in Istanbul (both the Land Rover and the Audi have "34" plates). However, once they come to the bridge where Bond jumps to the train, all the vehicles on the bridge (except the Land Rover) have plates starting with "01", which is the licence plate number for the city of Adana, where those scenes were shot. (00:06:10)
Continuity mistake: In the opening chase scene 007 rides his bike against the wall of the bridge. The bike bounces back, but in the next shot it is catapulting over the wall, tumbling over and over. (00:06:15)
Continuity mistake: When Bond drives his motorbike into the bridge, the scene changes to Bond landing on the train, the bike magically landing on its wheels upright, then when the scene changes again, the bike has disappeared, yet the bike should be seen rolling out of control. (00:06:25)
Visible crew/equipment: After Patrice jumps onto the train, Bond drives off the bridge and lands on the train and begins to fall over the side, then climbs back on. Eve then says "They're on the train." During this shot, you can see the white platform Bond was standing on to climb back onto the train. (00:06:30)
Factual error: The pursuit scenes along the train tracks leading west from Istanbul show mountains and even trestles and tunnels which do not exist. The true scenery is quite boring. (00:07:15)
Deliberate mistake: The VW beetles on the train are parked side-by-side. Cars are never loaded like this - they would be end-to-end to stop them overhanging the wagon and hitting passing objects. They're only positioned like that to facilitate driving the digger over them later. (00:07:40)
Continuity mistake: When Bond and Patrice begin fighting on the train, Patrice picks up a piece of chain. This chain was not there in a wide shot shown two shots previously. (00:09:30)
Other mistake: In the opening scene where Moneypenny is holding the rifle, you can see the flash suppressor was installed upside down. The 'slots' are on the bottom. (00:10:35)
Continuity mistake: When M goes to see Mallory at the start of the film, he pours her a drink and places the bottle on the table with the label facing the camera. The label is off centre and more to the left - when M leaves the bottle has not been moved and the label is still facing the camera, but the label is now more to the right. (00:17:15)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where M (Judi Dench) is been driven back to the MI6 building, her car is stopped on a bridge and you see two cars stopping behind M's vehicle while she is still inside. She then gets out of the vehicle to speak to a police officer who requested that the car stop, and now two different vehicles are behind. (00:20:15)
Continuity mistake: When Bond is drinking Macallan in M's apartment he set the bottle down with the label facing away from us. Next shot has the bottle facing towards us. Final shot and the bottle is back in its original position, with the label away from us again. (00:24:55)
Other mistake: When Bond is being driven back to MI6, there is clear rain on the window. In the angle from above the car, there is no rain visible on the top of the car, meaning that there is rain on the passenger window, but no rain on the car roof. (00:26:45)
Continuity mistake: When Bond returns to MI6, when Bond stops exercising and Tanner leaves the room, Bond has both his arms against the weights. In the next shot, one of his arms is against the weights whilst his other shoulder is now against the other side of the weights. (00:29:05)
Continuity mistake: In the scene in the National Gallery early on in the film where Bond meets Q, there is a line of bench seats they're sitting on. From behind, Bond's coat tail is barely covering the gap between two of the benches. From the front, though, his coat tail is further back, covering the gap almost entirely. (00:37:05)
Answer: Because Bond is fighting to the death with a man who's trying to throw him off a train. He can't exactly step out of the way.
