Skyfall

Continuity mistake: In a hotel room at the start, Bond finds Ronson bleeding. Note the amount of blood on his chin coming from his mouth. In the shot where Bond opens Ronsons's jacket partway to see the blood, there are a bit of dripping blood going down his chin. In the shot where Bond leaves the room, there is suddenly a huge blob of blood on the left side of the Ronson's lips that wasn't there before. (00:01:35)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Bond leaves the Istanbul hotel, there is an extra visible to left side of the door walking on the sidewalk. The shot cuts and there is suddenly no sign of the extra. (00:02:10)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: Whilst Bond and Eve are chasing Patrice in the jeep, Eve smashes one of the wing mirrors and she then says, "Wasn't using that one either." After this line, the expression on her face changes between shots. (00:02:45)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: In Istanbul, Bond goes to the mosque. When he approaches the mosque, the exterior shot is of the Sultan Ahmed mosque or "Blue Mosque" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sultan_Ahmed_Mosque). When Bond is inside, the interior is actually of the much older, nearby "Hagia Sophia" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hagia_Sophia). (00:04:35)

Continuity mistake: As Bond chases Patrice over the rooftops of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul at the start of the film, in the close ups of Daniel Craig his tie can be seen noticeably flapping over his shoulder (as you would expect). But in the long shots with the stuntman it doesn't move about at all, presumably having been fixed in place for safety. (00:04:40)

Andrew Upton

Continuity mistake: In the opening chase scene 007 rides his bike against the wall of the bridge. The bike bounces back, but in the next shot it is catapulting over the wall, tumbling over and over. (00:06:15)

Roco

Continuity mistake: When Bond drives his motorbike into the bridge, the scene changes to Bond landing on the train, the bike magically landing on its wheels upright, then when the scene changes again, the bike has disappeared, yet the bike should be seen rolling out of control. (00:06:25)

Continuity mistake: When Bond and Patrice begin fighting on the train, Patrice picks up a piece of chain. This chain was not there in a wide shot shown two shots previously. (00:09:30)

Continuity mistake: When M goes to see Mallory at the start of the film, he pours her a drink and places the bottle on the table with the label facing the camera. The label is off centre and more to the left - when M leaves the bottle has not been moved and the label is still facing the camera, but the label is now more to the right. (00:17:15)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where M (Judi Dench) is been driven back to the MI6 building, her car is stopped on a bridge and you see two cars stopping behind M's vehicle while she is still inside. She then gets out of the vehicle to speak to a police officer who requested that the car stop, and now two different vehicles are behind. (00:20:15)

Continuity mistake: When Bond is drinking Macallan in M's apartment he set the bottle down with the label facing away from us. Next shot has the bottle facing towards us. Final shot and the bottle is back in its original position, with the label away from us again. (00:24:55)

Continuity mistake: When Bond returns to MI6, when Bond stops exercising and Tanner leaves the room, Bond has both his arms against the weights. In the next shot, one of his arms is against the weights whilst his other shoulder is now against the other side of the weights. (00:29:05)

Continuity mistake: In the scene in the National Gallery early on in the film where Bond meets Q, there is a line of bench seats they're sitting on. From behind, Bond's coat tail is barely covering the gap between two of the benches. From the front, though, his coat tail is further back, covering the gap almost entirely. (00:37:05)

Continuity mistake: In the museum, Bond is sitting down and Q sits next to him. Note part of Bond's coat goes over the edge of the seat. Where in the next shot, that part of the coat over the edge is now back on the seat. (00:37:05)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the assassin is about to go up in the elevator the 3rd button down on the right has been pressed and is lit. As the elevator closes the button is no longer lit. (00:43:10)

Continuity mistake: When Bond confronts the assassin and lets him fall to his death from the building in Shanghai, he then looks over to the opposite window where Severine is standing in the smashed window hole, her hair blowing in the breeze. When it cuts to the closeup of her leaving you can see the light reflected in the window glass that has magically reappeared. (00:48:00)

Continuity mistake: While talking with Severine in the casino bar, Bond gets his martini in a frozen glass. He picks it up, the camera's point of view changes, and the glass is instantly completely unfrozen. (00:57:15)

Q: I can do more damage on my laptop in my pyjamas than you can do in a year in the field.
James Bond: Then what do you need me for?
Q: Every now and then a trigger has to be pulled.
James Bond: Or not pulled. It's hard to know which in your pyjamas.

Question: Is there really any need for Silva to be captured and then escape to kill M? He knows when she's in court, he could just travel to London without going through being captured and escape, and considering it makes him completely unexpected, gives him more of a chance of succeeding.

Answer: Silva's objective was not just to kill M - if it was, he could have blown up her office with her in it when he hacked into MI6 the first time. He wanted to humiliate and terrify her by showing he could get to her again and again, whatever measures were put in place to protect her.
