Never Been Kissed

Question: Was Guy in on the cruel revenge prank to put dog food on Aldys, or did he just want to dance with her, and didn't know anything about it?

Answer: Over the course of the evening, Guy learns that being popular isn't the most important thing in the world and wanted to make peace with Aldys. I think he was genuinely being a nice guy and wasn't in on the prank.

Question: Why did the popular kids hate Aldys so much? What did she ever do to them? I know that they don't like "geeks" /"nerds" and all, but they were not even that horrible to her male nerd friend or Josie. They seem to be the meanest towards her.

Answer: Popular kids make fun of geeks because the are different. They may dislike Aldys more because she is antagonistic towards them, like when she bought the prom ticket.

Answer: I think it is only because she is not intimidated by them, and she always talks back and stands for herself.

Question: What department is Roger from? And what does that department do? I mean the Roger that Anita says she has slept with at the begining of the film.

Answer: Roger works in the op/ed department. This department deals with opinion pieces and editorials. You can find an exact definition at this web site: www.freesearch.co.uk/dictionary/op-ed.

Question: In the flashback that shows Josie at her house before prom, how could Billy have called her right before his limo appeared in front of her house? The year would have had to be 1990 or 1991, when Josie was a senior (or earlier, if she was younger but senior Billy asked her to prom). Were cell phones common during that time?

Answer: Cell phones perhaps not, but car phones would have been common in limousines.

Question: When Adlys and Josie are in the car, and Guy pops his head in, how come he never looks at Josie? It's like she was invisible, and his face was close enough to her face, and he didn't even glance at her.

Answer: Guy regards Josie as another 'nerd' and would hardly have the courtesy of looking at her. Guy's focus is on Adlys because she's the one driving.

Question: Were all Josie's class virgins? I get the impression that they were because in the sex education scene, where Anitie asks, "Are there any questions?" they all put their hands up.

Answer: Given that Anita isn't a real sex ed teacher the class was probably confused by her bizarre little 'sex talk' and had some questions to ask her regarding that.

Answer: It's quite likely that at least one or two people were not virgins. A non-virgin could still have questions that they want to ask an older adult, who has more sexual experience.

Question: Did Guy only like Josie because she became popular, or did he always like her, but was afraid to tell her because she was a "geek"? And it would ruin his reputation as a cool guy?

Answer: He only began noticing her after she became popular. You can see Guy ignoring her several times when he sees her as a geek.

Question: During the sex discussion when Anita says "don't worry the burning sensation is normal" what does she mean by that?

Answer: She's playing like Josie asked her an embarrassing question, in this case, likely related to a urinary tract infection or a sexually transmitted disease.

Trivia: At the prom, the popular girls tell a couple that there's "no room" at their table. The couple is dressed like Mary and Joseph of the Bible, whom were told there was "no room" at the inn (and therefore had to give birth to Jesus in a stable).
