Factual error: Almost in the beginning of episode 1 Carlos is exiting the airport building in Bayreuth and entering a car. In the background a Mercedes-Benz Type W123 is leaving. The scene is supposed to take place in July 1973, but the W123 wasn't produced until 1976. (00:03:05)
Factual error: The attack on the OPEC meeting in Vienna takes place on December 21. Yet, when Carlos' team exits the tram, the trees are full with green summer leaves and the sun shines as it would on a high summer day.
Continuity mistake: When the hijacked DC9 aircraft arrives into Algeria for the first time, in a front shot when taxiing, the nose and windshield are of a Boeing 727. Afterwards it becomes a DC9 for the remaining of the movie.
Factual error: When Carlos enters the cockpit of the Austrian airplane for the first time, the captain introduces himself as such, but stays for the whole journey in the right seat, which is the copilot one.
