Continuity mistake: When the hijacked DC9 aircraft arrives into Algeria for the first time, in a front shot when taxiing, the nose and windshield are of a Boeing 727. Afterwards it becomes a DC9 for the remaining of the movie.

Factual error: When Carlos enters the cockpit of the Austrian airplane for the first time, the captain introduces himself as such, but stays for the whole journey in the right seat, which is the copilot one.
Dr. Valentín Hernández: Excuse me. I'm not Muslim and I'm famished. Don't you think what the revolution needs is money and not corpses?
Ilich Ramírez Sánchez, aka 'Carlos': What are you saying?
Dr. Valentín Hernández: Your hostages are more valuable alive than dead.
