Plot hole: One of Snape's memories show Lily telling baby Harry to be safe, be strong. That had to have occurred before Voldemort killed Lily. Snape was not in the house until after Lily was killed and Voldemort was gone. Only Lily and Harry should have had that memory, but not Snape.

Voldemort, thinking Snape is the master of the Elder Wand because he killed Dumbledore, kills Snape. While viewing Snape's memories, Harry comes across the stunning realization that Harry himself is an unintended Horcrux and that he must die for Voldemort to die. Voldemort "kills" Harry, but he only destroyed the Horcrux in Harry. Harry and Voldemort have a fight, during which Neville kills Nagini, also a Horcrux. Harry uses Malfoy's wand in the duel against Voldemort, and since Malfoy is the true master of the Elder Wand (he disarmed Dumbledore before he was killed by Snape), Harry is now the Elder Wand's master. When Voldermort tries to kill Harry with the Elder Wand, it backfires and kills Voldemort. Harry snaps the Elder Wand in two. We then cut to nineteen years later where an adult Harry and Ginny, along with Ron and Hermione, are sending their kids off to Hogwarts.

Molly Weasley: Not my daughter, you bitch!
Trivia: In the scene where Hagrid has dropped a "dead" Harry Potter, look quickly at George. He turns his head to the right and yells "Fred!" Fred has already been killed by Bellatrix Lestrange so it seems he may have forgotten this in a moment of grief.

Answer: Yes. According to J.K. Rowling in interviews, the curse Voldemort had cast on the Defense Against the Dark Arts position preventing any teacher lasting more than one year, was finally broken upon his death, and from then on any instructor lasted beyond twelve months.

In the movies it is never mentioned that Voldemort cursed the DADA post or even applied for this position.
It is mentioned in the books.
