Kato: I was born in Shanghai. You know Shanghai?
Britt Reid: Yeah, I love Japan.
Britt Reid: Kato, we have a secret mission.
Chudnofsky: I want the head of The Green Hornet and I want it tonight.
Britt Reid: Think about this, Kato. We've been completely wasting our potential. This city needs our help. We could be heroes! We will pose as villains to get close to the bad guys. That way, no one will suspect we're really the good guys. Will you come with me on this adventure?
Jack Reid: So this is what you want out of your life? This gives you sense of fulfillment? I spend all night, writing about the corruption in this town, and you do nothing.
Scanlon: You brought a gas mask?
Chudnofsky: Of course I brought a gas mask!
Scanlon: Why only for yourself?
Answer: While Britt held a childhood grudge against his dad, his father wasn't so much a "monster" as he was a hard-nosed, dedicated publisher (who was, in fact, trying to expose organized crime). Britt has a change of heart when his father dies unexpectedly, and Britt makes the decision to take more responsibility in his life. Britt's old grudge only re-emerges when he and Kato get intoxicated and vandalize the statue, which Britt later regrets doing when he is sober.
