Visible crew/equipment: After Gracie leaps off stage onto the gun man and yellow shirt man, she and the two men fall to the ground. A piece of the light blue safety mat can be seen under the legs of the yellow shirt man. Don't confuse it with the blue pants of the woman sitting center screen. It can also be seen in the news broadcast that's on TV later. Use slo-mo if necessary. This is not a Pageant mat. (00:54:20)

Miss Congeniality (2000)
1 visible crew/equipment mistake
Directed by: Donald Petrie
Starring: Michael Caine, Sandra Bullock, William Shatner, Benjamin Bratt, Ernie Hudson, Candice Bergen

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film when Miss Rhode Island is crowned Gracie tries to take the crown from her. Miss Rhode Island beats her with her bouquet of roses. All of the blossoms are knocked off of the stems. A few seconds later when Gracie is fighting Miss Texas the blossoms are back on the roses that Cheryl, Miss Rhode Island is holding. (01:35:00)
Victor Melling: By the way, what are you planning to do for your talent: sing, dance, chew with your mouth closed?
Gracie Hart: I will do whatever you want me to do, Yoda.
Trivia: At the preliminaries, Stan asks of Miss Rhode Island, "Describe your perfect date" and Cheryl answers oddly, "April 25th." Marc Lawrence the screenwriter says in the DVD commentary that it's an actual answer given by a contestant in a pageant, that he found in research for the film. (01:05:40)

Answer: It is an image Victor Melling conjures in an effort to elicit a calm, zen-like state for Grace. He is trying to assist her to focus on the competition, rather than her fear of walking the stage in a two piece swimsuit.
