Factual error: After taking off from Las Vegas for Tibet, our heroes try to refuel the Antonov in Hawaii, only to find the islands devastated. The route from Las Vegas to Tibet takes you nowhere near Hawaii. In fact, Hawaii is only 500 km (300 miles) closer to Tibet than Las Vegas. Also, they expect to go down somewhere in the South China Sea, but the route from Hawaii to Tibet would take them just north of Japan and nowhere near the South China Sea, which is 3000 km (1900 miles) further south.
Continuity mistake: When the door opens on the ark to let the mass of people in, there is a large yellow arm that starts to close in on Jackson and his family. The tunnel that his son is pushed into last minute had a large metal door open on it that instantly disappears like it was never there when the arm passes the opening.
Other mistake: When Tamara Is trapped in the middle section it's flooding. It is impossible for the middle section to flood before the end section.
Suggested correction: It would make sense that the door is designed to close much faster than it opens as it is a sealing door and needs to close quickly to form a water tight seal.
Factual error: When Adrian is looking at Jackson's license, it shows his first name, last name. As in: JACKSON, CURTIS. Should be last name first, first name last. As in: CURTIS, JACKSON.
Factual error: In the beginning of the film, when they are in India, the scientist says the temperature could reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit. India uses the metric system, not imperial.
Other mistake: When they are loading the last of the passengers and workers, the gate from the ship goes down at a very slow pace. However, when Uri and his sons are climbing up the ladder to get to the platform, the gate is going up at a very fast rate. It does not make sense that it would not go back up as slowly as it went down.
Other mistake: They go into the world's deepest copper mine to an underground computer office with windows lit from outside.
Suggested correction: That is probably exactly how it would look. Most underground facilities are conventional buildings, trailers, or modular units arranged in a large lighted tunnel or cavern. This is the arrangement in Cheyenne Mountain Complex, the previous U.S. Antarctic base (under the geodesic dome), and for offices and data repositories in salt mines. The buildings have windows, and the caverns are lighted to facilitate movement between buildings.
Revealing mistake: During the initial collapse sequence when John Cusack is driving the limousine against the tide of the collapse, the limousine ramps off a piece of floor that is collapsing inconsistently. The wheels stop spinning the moment they leave the road.
