Visible crew/equipment: When the dog rolls over after Max opens the dog food can, you can see the lower leg and foot of one of the crew wearing a thong/sandal on the rock to the left of the Gyrocaptain's head. The dog looks backwards in that direction towards the end of the shot and seems to be given a command to get up, so it may be the dog's handler staying close. (00:16:36)
Visible crew/equipment: When Wez rips the door off the tanker you can see a crouched crew member next to Max. This has been disputed but it is there, watch underneath the steering wheel just after Wez starts shouting "Go! Go! Go!". (01:19:05)
Visible crew/equipment: In the famous stunt scene where the motorcycle driver flips end over end, you can see the blue pad the stunt driver is supposed to land on. Only in the Widescreen version. Not visible in the full frame version. (01:21:50)
Visible crew/equipment: In the final truck chase scene, Wez shoots Warrior Woman with a quad-barrel arrow gun. In the shot where the arrows impact on her, a guide wire for one of the arrows (red-tailed one) is visible.
Visible crew/equipment: In the initial chase of the semi, as we see the view from the Gyro copter viewpoint, just before the semi turns, the camera and operator are plainly visible in the buggy behind the motorcycle.
Visible crew/equipment: In the final crash between the Humongous and Max, as the debris of the smaller vehicle flies around, you can see it's a stunt driver because of the helmet he wore.
Visible crew/equipment: When the pink car is set on fire at the gate, there is an obvious cable pulling the car backwards as it blows up.
Visible crew/equipment: After Toady gets his fingers cut off by the boomerang, the goon with the blue tinted goggles has what appears to be the camera crew reflected in his left lens.
Visible crew/equipment: When the camera does a close up of a goon, it looks like the lighting panel is reflected in his left lens.
Visible crew/equipment: As the camera pans up to the front of the car that is about to get rear ended by Max during the opening chase scene, you can see a white pickup truck and a small red crane in the background for about two frames.
Visible crew/equipment: As Max first finds the Gyro Copter you can see the shadow of the camera on the V8s' windshield as it stops.
Visible crew/equipment: When Max and the Gyro captain are watching the attack on the fleeing woman after she is pulled by the bikers from the wrecked car, as the gyro captains' smile turns to a look of shock and moves the binoculars down, you can see a reflector screen in both lenses.
Visible crew/equipment: After Papagallo tells the warrior woman to get rid of Max you can see Max's' V8 being towed into the compound and reflected on the side you can see a cameraman holding a camera then a second later as the shot changes to the side of the car a boom mic is visible also reflected on the car.
Visible crew/equipment: When Wez back flips behind the man on the rails if you watch carefully you can see the spring board that was used to aid him in the flip and as he lands behind the man a pair of arms come in on the left edge of the screen to catch him.
Chosen answer: The filmmakers obviously didn't research the intricate logistics of aerodynamics of how a boomerang is thrown. It simply looked cool leaving the kid's hand and killing the blonde guy the way it did.
