Continuity mistake: When Indy is about to grab the branch to hit the soldier, his hat keeps moving around between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Mutt meets Indy, Mutt has a train behind, yet the reflection of the glasses from Indy's wagon don't reflect it, instead showing a sky and trees.
Continuity mistake: In Akator, Indy, surrounded by Marion and Mac, tells Mutt to find a stone. When Mutt comes back, in less than a second, Marion and Mac are nowhere to be seen.
Other mistake: Spalko is hanging from a tree to avoid the sting of the ants. When a CGI ant is on her knee she closes both legs and smashes it. If you watch closely you'll notice that when she closed her legs the ant was already over her thigh, so if it had been a real ant it would have been impossible to kill that way.
Continuity mistake: After Mutt falls off the graveyard's ladder and is attacked by a native, the scattered broken parts of the ladder disappear to allow for the fight scene to take place.
Continuity mistake: In the Nevada warehouse, while Spalko opens the bag a strap next to it appears or disappears depending on the angle.
Continuity mistake: When Indy and Mac are aiming at the soldiers in Nevada the distance to the Jeep behind increases noticeably between shots.
Continuity mistake: While Indy and Mutt are walking by the market stalls, there's no continuity with the people behind them. Sometimes even a group of men disappear only to reappear several shots later.
Continuity mistake: When Jones is strapped to the chair in the tent Irina uncovers an alien to shows him. She then covers the alien with the cloth, but when the camera moves to a wide shot the soldier at the other side of the table does the same thing.
Continuity mistake: At the diner, Mutt places the photo on his hat, yet it swaps from standing out to tucked inside, between shots.
Continuity mistake: During the fight in the bar, when Indy and Mutt exit, a man to the right hugs a woman in green to protect her. A frame later they're 3 meters apart.
Continuity mistake: When Ox finds out about the stone that pours out sand, Mutt is up the stairs. Then the angle changes and he is down, starting to walk upwards.
Factual error: Indy tells Mutt that he and Oxley were obsessed with the Mitchell-Hedges crystal skull when they were in college. The first printed reference to that particular skull was in 1936. Mitchell Hedges didn't mention it himself until 1954. Indy would've been in his mid-30's in 1936, so it wasn't possible for them to have been obsessed with it in their college days.
Continuity mistake: When Indy exits the fridge after the blast, he leans on both of his arms and faces a gopher. From a different angle, he is leaning on his left arm only.
Continuity mistake: Indy empties the fridge hurriedly and throws away all of the trays, then pulls away the last drawer below. A shot later from a different angle, he is throwing away the penultimate tray and pulling out the drawer again.
Continuity mistake: After Mac betrays Indy again, and Indy asks him if he's a triple agent, Dimitri suddenly appears next to Mac before Spalko enters the room.
Continuity mistake: When Indy and Mutt exit the bar, there's a man and a young girl close to each other, plus a man in brown 4 metres behind, running towards them. A shot later, the man and girl are a metre apart, and the man in brown is right next to the young girl. Also, the man in a gabardine that walks by when Mutt gets on his motorbike has no continuity between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Indy tells the group to run away from the ants by jumping off the truck, Mutt jumps out, followed by Oxley. Shot changes, and Mutt is back in the truck, and Oxley is already out.
Continuity mistake: After they fall inside the temple, Mac steals gold from the skeleton and turns around. Shot changes, and he is turning his back on us, repeating all previous movements.
Factual error: Skara Brae is on Mainland Orkney not the West Coast of Scotland as Indy states in class just before he's let go from the university.
Chosen answer: Because the film had a global release date, and premiered the same day in every country in the world. Obviously, the studio felt this was the best day to do it.
