On Halloween, Deborah Myers (Sheri Moon Zombie) is called into her son Michael's school after the principal becomes concerned with Michael's behavior, as well as the discovery of a series of Polaroids of dead animals Michael keeps in his locker. Present at the meeting is Dr. Samuel J. Loomis (Malcolm McDowell), a child psychologist, who informs Deborah that Michael displays the warning signs of a psychopath and urges her to allow him to further assess the boy. That night, Michael goes home and murders his mother's boyfriend (William Forsythe), his sister Judith (Hanna R. Hall), and her boyfriend. Deborah returns home to find Michael bloodied and sitting on the porch with his baby sister. Michael is convicted of first degree murder and taken to Smith's Grove Sanitarium, where he is placed under the supervision of Dr. Loomis. More mistakes in Halloween
Dr. Samuel Loomis: Inside every one us, there exists a dark side. Most people rise above it, but some are consumed by it. Until there is nothing left, but pure evil.
Trivia: Aside from the more obvious relations between the original and the remake (i.e. "Don't Fear the Reaper", etc), one interesting one is how Michael acquires his trademark jumpsuit. In the original, it's implied he kills a trucker and steals his (we see his dead body in a field left with Michael's robes). Sure enough, in the remake Michael also gets the jumpsuit from a trucker - of course this time the death is plainly visible.
Question: Why did Michael stop attacking his sister and take off the mask, showing her the picture?

Answer: He was hoping that Laurie would realise that she's really his sister. However, because Laurie was just a baby and raised by another family, she had no idea why Michael was showing her the picture or what it had to do with her.
