Other mistake: In the original ending, after Laurie is pulled out of the cop car, Loomis is able to reason with Michael to let her go. After he does, he is shot to death by the police. This was obviously changed, but when Loomis is reasoning with him in the final cut, you can still see the police standing behind him. (01:46:00)

Starring: Brad Dourif, Malcolm McDowell, Scout Taylor-Compton, Tyler Mane, Daeg Faerch
Genres: Horror
Factual error: Federal institutions have strict rules for inmates or patients based on the reason for their incarceration, including substituting metal utensils with safer plastic ones. Despite being convicted of brutally killing his family, Myers is still trusted with a sharp metal fork - resulting in the nurse's death.
Dr. Samuel Loomis: I really don't know what else to say, Michael. You haven't said a word for fifteen years! Christ, that's a lifetime. That's nearly twice as long as my first marriage. Wow. It's strange, Michael. In a weird way you've become like... like my best friend. Huh! That just shows you how fucked up my life is. I've done all I possibly can for you, so I'm sorry to tell you that this is going to be my last day. Michael, I have to move on. I'm sorry.
Trivia: In the scene where the two janitors first enter Michael's room when he is an adult, when the shot shows Michael and all of his masks, one of them in the middle left resembles the mask from the original 1978 version.
Question: Why does Laurie drop off mail (that her father gave her) to the Myers house, which is abandoned? Why bring mail to an abandoned house?
Answer: Laurie's father, Mason Strode, is a realtor who owns Strode Real Estate, and there's a realty sign post in the front yard of the old Myers house. Mason tells Laurie, "They're coming by to look at it later," so we know he's talking about people interested in buying the old property. When Michael sniffs the envelope we see the Strode Real Estate logo, and it presumably contains realtor's paperwork which is pertinent to the sale of the house, and is meant for the people who will be coming by later.

Suggested correction: The police came anyways. He is a wanted killer, after all.
During the timestamp above, an officer standing behind Loomis with their gun ready while he's talking to Michael, but besides these shots, the officer is nowhere to be found. In the alternate ending, this confrontation is completely different as cops are shown actually pulling up behind Loomis. You are able to see that shots from the alt ending are used in the final movie, thus making the mistake valid.
