Continuity mistake: When Bart and Ned find the mutated squirrel, two EPA workers find the creature. When the female worker says "Environmental Protection Agency" after Ned asks who they are, the squirrel is standing on a rock with nothing under it. In the next shot, there is suddenly something under it for the EPA worker to contain it with. (00:24:30)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Mayor Quimby says "To make sure this wall is completely idiot-proof...Cletus", in a far shot, Cletus comes walking up with his hands empty. It then cuts to a close up and now you can see the opossum tail in Cletus' right hand. There is no time for him to have grabbed it from anywhere. (00:21:15)
Continuity mistake: At the start of the scene where Lisa is describing Colin to Marge, there is water on the floor Marge uses to clean the pig tracks on the floor with. In the next shot, there is suddenly a lot more water on the floor than there was in the previous shot. (00:17:50)
Continuity mistake: When Ned offers Bart some cocoa, we can see the cocoa is the only thing in his hand. Then in the next shot, some whipped cream has appeared in his hand out of nowhere. (00:17:25)
Continuity mistake: After Homer decides to bring Spider-Pig home with him, the scene cuts to Maggie playing the game Baby Blast. On the back of the game console is the cartridge with the words Baby Blast written on it. As Grandpa says "I'm pretty sure a thousand is a number" a few seconds later, the words Baby Blast have vanished from the cartridge. (00:15:00)
Continuity mistake: When they film Krusty's advert in Krusty Burger, "Action" is said by the director and the only things shown are Krusty, the pig and the table the pig is standing on. Krusty then starts talking whilst filming and picks up the burger known as The Clogger. This burger was never visible during the previous shot as the director said "action". (00:14:00)
Continuity mistake: When Homer is eating a Krusty Burger, the crumbs around his mouth vanish between shots. (00:13:55)
Continuity mistake: During Grandpa's freak out in church, as he says "Trapped forever", behind Kirk van Houten is Chief Wiggum. In the next shot, Professor Frink has suddenly appeared behind Kirk, and Chief Wiggum is suddenly behind Frink. (00:05:45)
Continuity mistake: As Grandpa freaks out in church, he falls on the floor after shouting "Whoa nelly!" and starts rolling around. In this shot, he is entirely on the red carpet. Comic Book Guy starts recording Grandpa and suddenly, his head is suddenly over the edge of the carpet. (00:05:30)
Continuity mistake: When Grandpa is freaking out in the church, at the point where he says "Trapped forever", Kirk (Milhouse's dad) is sitting normally. In the next shot, his arm is now holding onto the top of the seat. (00:05:40)
Continuity mistake: When Green Day start playing the violin when the barge is sinking, their feet are below the water. In the following shot, their feet are suddenly above the water. (00:03:45)

Continuity mistake: When the crowd throws food and drinks at Green Day's barge, the first overview shot shows various items landing on the barge. A few shots later there is another overview shot of the barge, only the amount of items has decreased. Then as one of the members says, "Gentlemen, it's been an honour playing with you tonight" and they take out their violins, all of the items on the barge have vanished. (00:03:45)
Continuity mistake: When the Green Day singer points his microphone to the crowd and the crowd sings the rest of the song, note the front of the crowd has nothing in their hands. After the singer says "We've been playing for three and a half hours. Now we'd like a minute of your time to say something about the environment", the shot returns to the crowd and everyone on the front row suddenly has a drink in their hands. (00:03:05)
Continuity mistake: After Homer taunts the angry mob about not knowing where he lives, the mob gathers in front of his house, and in the shot of Homer and Marge in the bedroom note the light switch on the wall and the items on the dressing table, but in the next shot as Lisa and Bart run into the room the items on the table have vanished and the light switch is gone. Continuity mistake: At the cabin, after watching the TV report about the "new Grand Canyon," when Marge puts on her robe there aren't any pockets, but in following shots two pockets have appeared.
Continuity mistake: After being held in the EPA truck, when Marge and the kids wake up at the Town Square - the remains of the courthouse with its lion statues are behind them. The buildings to the left of the courthouse change in following shots, such as while Cletus distracts Cargill, or when Homer's on the motorcycle and grabs the cowboy hat. (01:04:30)
Continuity mistake: While Bart's standing on the roof's TV antenna when Homer's shaking it, in the overhead shot of the house - note the front walkway and the wood fence between Flanders' and Simpsons' houses, the chimney is actually missing from the side of the roof adjacent to Flanders' house, and the antenna is also much closer to that side of the house than it should be. Continuity mistake: After Scratchy blows up in the movie they're watching, when Homer stands up in the shot facing the audience there are two empty seats behind Homer, between Dr. Hibbert and Marge, who's seated beside Lisa, but in the next shot facing the screen Marge is now seated beside Dr. Hibbert, and there's only one empty seat now between Marge and Lisa. Continuity mistake: After Russ Cargill places the tank with the mutated squirrel on the President's desk, when Cargill says, "Here's our chance to kick some ass for mother earth," the tank's not on the desk where it was placed, but then it reappears where it should be. (00:26:10)
Answer: The family doesn't treat him very well, particularly Homer. He may have wanted some revenge on them. Grampa is also a little senile.
