Corrected entry: When The Joker arrives at Dent's fundraiser, Rachel and Harvey are away from the party in one of the other rooms. Bruce comes and drags Harvey away, saying, "They're coming for him". So why does Rachel end up amongst all the party guests for The Joker to threaten? Surely she would have stayed hidden and out of the way. And why didn't Bruce simply hide Rachel with Dent to ensure her safety, or at least hide her somewhere, like wherever he got the BatSuit from, for example? These are some baffling character decisions that don't make sense at all.
Corrected entry: Two-Face's face should drool (also known as ptyalism or sialorrhea) saliva from his mouth openings; it just looks too waxy.
Correction: Swallowing the saliva, damage to salivary glands in the fire, wiping his mouth off camera; several explainations. As a former medic I've treated people with severe burns; Harvey's appearence in the movie is a good approximation of what someone looks like with their skin completely burned off.
Corrected entry: When the Joker attacks the police convoy with Harvey Dent, why is it that none of the policemen shoot back at him, or at least tries to defend himself with a gun? There were many policemen out there (some were killed, of course), policemen usually carry guns, and there was enough time between the Joker's attacks to take out a gun and shoot at him. I think I would give guns for people who were transferring one of Gotham's most wanted criminals, and who are expecting to be attacked by the most brutal criminal in town.
Correction: Carrying guns yes, trying to fire them and control the vehicle at the same time is something different. They are traveling at high speeds with a homicidal maniac firing rockets at them. The likelihood they would be able to roll down the window and take him out would not be too smart or effective.
Corrected entry: In one of the final scenes where Batman goes into the building where Joker is conducting his "social experiment" with the two ferries, Batman's "sonar eyes" appear and re-appear through many different cuts.
Corrected entry: During the convoy scene, The Joker's men are set up to ambush the police copters. how would they know where to set up? Even with inside info from dirty cops, they couldn't know where the driver would detour and resurface to street level.
Correction: The detour was forced by the burning fire truck, which funneled the convoy onto Lower 5th Street where the attack began. Being an underground roadway, exits would be limited, so if only one or two turns off are possible plus an exit at the end, Joker only needs to have his guys covering those three possibilities. Had the convoy not been diverted onto the lower roadway, it would've had far more options for escape, but the roadblock worked.
Corrected entry: Toward the end of the bank heist scene, when the pin is pulled from the grenade that is in the bank manager's mouth, you can see a tube that releases the smoke from the grenade, running from his mouth to the inside of his collar.
Correction: It's not a wire. It's a crease in his cheek from having to open his mouth so wide.
Corrected entry: In the shot where we first see Gordon again after he 'dies', a part of his glasses frame is missing (on the left), but in the next shot, when we see him with Dent his glasses are perfect.
Correction: They're two different pairs of glasses. He's first wearing tactical glasses to match his SWAT uniform. Later, he's switched to his usual frames.
Corrected entry: If Harvey's eyelid was in fact burned off in the fire, leaving his eye intact, it would eventually fail to function and even be damaged beyond repair due to a lack of hydration which occurs through the process of blinking.
Corrected entry: During the Batman/Joker interrogation scene, the amount of make up on Joker's face changes between shots. This is particularly noticeable on his chin and forehead, and is not consistent with reasonable rub off from the altercation.
Correction: Watching the scene carefully to spot this, I find no blatant differences from shot to shot.
Corrected entry: When Harvey Dent is on fire, it's understandable why only one side of his face burns. But it's unlikely that one side of his hair would be left unburned. Since hair is flammable, both sides would be missing.
Correction: Hair is not flammable to the point that lighting it in one spot causes it to travel quickly all over your head. If you hold a flame to hair, then remove the flame, the burning hair extinguishes itself very quickly.
Corrected entry: Batman uses a thick drill to cut out the bullet hole from the wall, yet when he removes the brick containing the bullet hole, it is in a perfect rectangular shape, like something flat was used to cut the wall.
Correction: Batman uses a saw-type tool to cut out the rectangle, not a drill.
Corrected entry: Batman cuts out the bullet hole from the wall to look for Joker's fingerprints, but Joker wears gloves.
Correction: Joker usually wears gloves, yes, but that doesn't mean that he wears them every hour of every day. While it makes sense that he'd wear them while out creating mischief, to avoid leaving his fingerprints, there's no particular reason for him to wear them when hiding out and preparing. Bruce is hoping that the Joker wasn't wearing them when he loaded the bullets into the magazine, something that turns out to be correct.
Corrected entry: On the prisoner's ferry, supposedly just before midnight, the prisoner stands up to take the detonator from the guard. As he stands up, the clock shows it's roughly 11:30/11:35. Then his body covers the clock and he moves forward. When you see the clock again, it shows it's just before midnight.
Correction: The clock consistently shows it's roughly 11:55pm. There is no sudden change of the clock's time and there is no transition to a new angle, so there wouldn't be a way for the clock to suddenly jump 20 minutes.
Corrected entry: When Bruce is swimming to the plane the smugglers would know who he is, yet when they pick him up he is in his Batman guise. Surely they would realise who he was?
Correction: Different people. One group picks up Bruce Wayne and drops him off somewhere. Another, completely unrelated group, picks up Batman and drops him off somewhere else.
Corrected entry: When in the interrogation room after The Joker says, "Good cop, bad cop," Batman is about to push his head down, and the Joker closes his eyes and looks as if he were hurt the second before he actually gets hurt.
Correction: It looks more to me like he's reacting to the sudden bright light rather than any pre-emptive pain from Batman ramming his head into the table. Remember, he's just gone for near-darkness to bright light. A somewhat pained reaction is quite understandable.
Corrected entry: When Bruce Wayne is back in his penthouse after having saved Dent, but Rachel is dead, he is sitting in a chair in the Batman costume. The cowl and some other suit parts are on the floor behind him as if he shed them just before sitting in the chair. When you see his face, he has no eyeblack on. There seems to be no other way he gets the eye mask openings to be black - no fabric, no lenses - looking carefully it must be makeup of some kind.
Correction: The disappearing/reappearing eye makeup issue has been covered previously in scenes where it instantaneously changes. Batman does not wear eye make-up, period. The black is part of the cowl/mask. See the scene in Batman Begins when Alfred hits the defective mask with a hammer (00:58:35). You can clearly see the black membrane in the eye holes.
Corrected entry: Batman drops Maroni off of a fire escape which breaks his legs. A few scenes later outside of Dent's hospital room, he confronts Commissioner Gordon and he is walking just fine as though nothing happened. A few scenes later at the dock, Maroni is at least walking with a cane, but after a fall like that he would probably need a wheelchair.
Correction: He wouldn't exactly need a wheelchair. When he falls, he only grabs one leg, implying that only one broke. So if one is still unbroken, he would not need a wheelchair. Also, the broken leg could have had a leg brace, as said about a similar mistake.
Corrected entry: During the scene in which Maroni's men meet with the Scarecrow, you see the black Suburban pull up. As it comes to a stop, you can see finger smudges on the driver's door that were a result of earlier takes. When he gets out, he puts his hand in exactly the same spot.
Correction: There are smudges on the paint near the handle of my truck as well, from being used all the time. In this case, the truck is used by grimy criminals, so the smudges make perfect sense.
Corrected entry: In the opening scene as Joker's cronies are using a zip line to cross roof tops, a suspended camera is momentarily caught on scene while following the second person using the zip line. The following wide angle frame of the guys zip lining is obviously the camera that was caught in the frame just moments before.
Correction: That's not a camera, it's a bag full of their tools. One of the clowns is shown hooking it to the line and sending it before they go.
Corrected entry: In the beginning when The Joker is robbing the bank, he shoots one of the bank workers. Later, he takes off his clown mask and he has his full clown makeup on. Yet with the mask on he had no black rings around his eyes.
Correction: This is because the mask was totally covering his face, making his eyes totally invisible while he wore it. Hence, you couldn't see the makeup.
Correction: It's established from the previous film that Rachel is stubborn and indignant when it comes to justice and right (going up against the mob, for instance). Bruce may very well have put her in a safe place, but she refused to allow the Joker to intimidate her. A questionable choice, but hardly out of character for her.
