From Russia With Love

Continuity mistake: Watch the black Citroen Traction Avant saloon car that the Soviet spies are driving/tailing Bond and Kerim Bey's son in. When we first see it (at the airport), the hubcaps are gray and flat. When you see it through the rear window of Kerim's son's Rolls-Royce, you can catch glimpses of the hubcaps being cream-colored (which is how the Traction Avant came from the factory). However, when SPECTRE agent Donald Grant conks the Soviet agent over the head, from that point onward, the hubcaps are black (such as when he parks the car alongside Kerim's Rolls-Royce). (00:24:15)

Visible crew/equipment: When we see the car leaving the airport as the man with a moustache walks out there is a very nice reflection of a crew member in the paintwork. (00:24:20)

Factual error: When Bond arrives in Istanbul, the opening shot for the scene shows him arriving on the American-based Pan Am flight. Pan Am, or any American-based airliner, would most likely not have a flight going from London, UK to Istanbul, Turkey. Bond would have been most likely taking either a British-based airliner or a Turkish-based airliner. This error is more or less heavy handed product placement that wouldn't really happen in the real world, unless Bond flew from London to New York to Istanbul and that certainly would never be approved by a British government agency for one of its employees. Character mistake: In the scene at Kerim Bey's office, when the bomb goes off, we see a heavy desk topple over. Bey says he was saved because he was relaxing on the couch with a girl. But he wasn't at the desk before either. He was sitting in some sort of sofa arrangement in a different corner of the room. We don't even see the desk before the bomb goes off. (00:32:05)

Suggested correction: Kerim is saying that had he been sat at the desk, he would have been killed and luckily for him he was relaxing on the couch.

Revealing mistake: When Bond and Kerim are sailing in the underground reservoir, just before they arrive at the Russian Consulate, there is a closeup of the oar moving through the water. At the bottom of the screen there is a white object moving through the water. It is not clear what it is, but it is not there in any of the other shots of the boat - neither before nor after. It could be the leg of a crew member pushing the boat. (00:33:50)

Continuity mistake: In the scene in the underground reservoir, Bond and Kerim set off in the little boat. There is a clip of the oar, which is turned over a few times to shake off some rats. In that clip, the oar does not move forward in the water (as can be seen from the air bubbles in the water). In the next clip the boat is moving again. A boat takes a little way to get completely still. It is implausible that Kerim would stop the boat completely to shake off the rats, and then start moving again. The clip with the rats must have been made afterwards with a stationery oar. (00:34:10)

Continuity mistake: When Bond and Kerim-Bey arrive at the gypsy camp, they are riding in a white 1960 Ford station wagon. At alternate times the car appears as a four-door model and as a two-door model. (00:37:30)

Continuity mistake: At the Gypsy camp, Bond sits down and there is nothing in front of him on the table. We see the belly dancer arrive and suddenly there is a plate of food and Bond has got a drink in his hand. (00:38:20)

Suggested correction: The cut to the belly dancer is a jump ahead in time. There is no continuous action or sound between the shots and the food appearing shows time has passed.

Audio problem: When Krilencu kills a guard with a knife at the gypsy camp, he then says "Quick!" but his lips don't move. (00:39:40)

Continuity mistake: When Bond says "Tell our host his hospitality overwhelms me," after the belly dance at the gypsy camp, Bond takes the handkerchief out of the pocket of his suit and starts wiping his hands with it. He is not wiping his hands in the next shot, but in the shot after that, he is. (00:40:20)

Continuity mistake: At the gypsy camp, at the end the belly dance, we see Bond at the table with Kerim. In the first shot, there is about ½ meter of empty table between Kerim and the corner. Bond is at the end of the table. In the next shot, Kerim is right at the corner with his right hand very close to Bond's elbow. (00:40:30)

Continuity mistake: When Bond asks Kerim to translate something to their host, Bond is looking at his hands. Cameras change angle and now he is looking at Kerim and the host. (00:40:40)

Continuity mistake: When Bond is in the gypsy camp, the two girls Vida and Zora, who are about to fight over a man, are coming out of a caravan both wearing long skirts and scarves. When they each take their scarf to bind it around their hips, the skirts have suddenly disappeared without ever being taken off. (00:41:35)

Continuity mistake: Just before the girl fight at the gypsy camp, Bond's coffee cup moves between shots. In the first clip after we see the girls enter the scene, the withe rimmed coffee cup is at the corner of the table, to the left of Bond's plate. In the next clip is is right next to the coffee pot and the plate. In the clip in between, Bond sits perfectly still, and the cup is visible, so it was not moved there. (00:41:40)

Continuity mistake: When the gypsy girls start their fight they both have perfectly clean hair. A few seconds later they both have bits of straw in their hair, although neither of them has fallen onto the ground yet. (00:41:55)

Continuity mistake: Just before Kerim Bey overturns the table in the beginning, at the Gypsy camp fight, two bottles are visible on the table. When he overturns the table, there's only one left. (00:42:50)

Suggested correction: There's actually 4 bottles (3 green, 1 clear) on the table and when the table is flipped all of them can be seen to fall off.

Other mistake: When James Bond's friend Kerim Bey gets shot at the gypsy camp, look closely: he is rubbing fake blood into his own arm. (00:43:10)

Continuity mistake: At the gypsy camp, James throws a knife out of his right hand, but, suddenly, he has a gun there ready to fire. (00:43:40)

Continuity mistake: During the fight at the gypsy camp, just before the host thanks 007 for saving his life from the gunman up above, watch carefully at the point when he is aiming his rifle and about to shoot. In the next shot just before 007 fires his gun, you can see the gunman loading his rifle. (00:44:15)

James Bond: Red wine with fish. Well, that should have told me something.
Donald "Red" Grant: You may know the right wines, but you're the one on your knees. How does it feel old man?

Trivia: Red Grant has no dialogue until he first meets Bond. He first speaks in a rich, upper-class English accent. After Grant has revealed his true identity to Bond, his English accent changes into a lower-class Irish accent as he explains the SPECTRE background plot.
