Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Continuity mistake: When the girl is being chased by the zombies (just before we meet Carlos) the keypad for the door is right next to it. When she tries to enter the code, it is suddenly next to the small grey box. (00:09:30)

Suggested correction: It's next to that small gray box (appears to be a light switch) in every shot. At no point is it anywhere different.

Continuity mistake: Nemesis has an ammunition counter for his Vulcan cannon. When Nemesis is shooting at Peyton on the bridge, his counter stops at 3997 rounds. Almost immediately he begins shooting at Jill, but now the counter reads 3688. (00:43:20)

Suggested correction: The counter doesn't "stop" at 3997, the audience's POV changes while Nemesis is still firing, and the counter is last seen at 3978. The camera switches back to Nemesis' HUD roughly 5 seconds later when it is at 3688. Considering Nemesis is firing for some of the 5 seconds between when we can see the counter, and that miniguns can fire 100 rounds per second, none of this is impossible or even implausible.

Deliberate mistake: When Alice first fights the Nemesis, she attempts to jump over a fence and make an escape. When she lands on the police car, Nemesis fires his RPG at her. If you look closely, the rocket passes magically right through a chain link fence without touching it at all. (00:44:40)

Suggested correction: Rocket made a big hole in the mesh. Clearly shown.

Continuity mistake: A zombie hits its head on a tombstone, which falls over. In the next shot, it's upright again. (00:32:40)

Suggested correction: Could easily be another zombie and another stone.

Factual error: The sniper on the roof who is casually picking off zombies hand loads his rifle after every shot. The rifle he is using is the AWP Magnum which has a spring loaded 10 round clip and a breach that cannot be hand-fed ammunition. (00:36:30)

Suggested correction: Ammo can be manually loaded, it's inefficient but not impossible.

Continuity mistake: When they're in the school and they split up, Terri walks into the classroom and the map at the front of the classroom has bloody hand prints on it. When Jill Valentine walks into the same room later, there are no hand prints on the map.

Suggested correction: It's two different maps on two different walls.

Plot hole: After Dr. Ashford was shot, he stayed down the whole time that Alice fought with Nemesis, they fought with Umbrella, and after they took off. How is that possible? According to all the other times they've been shot, and with the t-virus in their bloodstream, they reanimate almost ten minutes later -- not when the director wants.

Suggested correction: The doctor reanimated after roughly 5-10 minutes, just like every other one does... as stated in the error. Plus convenient timing isn't a plot hole.

Factual error: When any character's automatic pistol runs out of bullets, the slide doesn't lock open. All the weapons shown are of a type which should.

Question: Why doesn't the dogs senses dumb down with infection? Obviously human senses degrade when they turn into zombies, but the dogs keep their speed and ability to smell scents.

Answer: First, the T-virus affects humans and dogs differently - zombie dogs look like they've been skinned, but zombie humans just look dead. Second, there's little evidence that human senses have been dimmed, it's just that zombies are stupider without higher brain functions (explained in the first movie) and are slower because they conserve energy for actual attacks, not moving. Dogs are much more efficient predators than humans and don't need to slow down as much because a few bites will take down prey.
