Continuity mistake: When the Rebels pick up the signal of the Imperial probe droid, general Rieekan says, "Princess - we have a visitor." In this close-up, his head is straight, but in the next shot, he is standing in a different place, leaning forward. (00:17:35)
Other mistake: When the Star Destroyers are seen for the first time, in the second shot, some of the TIE fighters that fly over a Star Destroyer are transparent. (00:19:55)
Suggested correction: Just loaded up Disney+. I watched that scene - all the Tie Fighters are not transparent. What you're seeing is light set used to light up the Tie Fighters in space, to give the illusion that the Star Destroyer engines are shining on them.
Continuity mistake: When Luke climbs into his snowspeeder, his hair is shorter than when he said goodbye to Han and Chewbacca while on his way to the speeder. When he takes off his pilot helmet on Dagobah, his hair is back to normal. (00:22:20 - 00:25:40)
Continuity mistake: When Leia briefs a group of Rebel pilots in the hangar on Hoth, the position of her head changes completely between the first and the second shot. As the second shot ends, she begins to turn around, but in the next shot, she has already turned around. Also, Major Derlin's (the man dressed in grey) head has changed position. (00:23:05)
Continuity mistake: When Leia is briefing the Rebel pilots, some of the men behind her change position between shots. (00:24:00)
Continuity mistake: After Luke crashes during the battle on Hoth , the AT-AT is far away from him and is moving rather slowly. A few shots later, the AT-AT stomps on his snowspeeder, but it was too far away from him in the previous shots to reach it that quickly. (00:29:55)
Audio problem: After Han goes to the command centre during the battle on Hoth, Leia says to a controller, "Send all troops in sector twelve to the south slope to protect the fighters," but the words don't match her lips. (00:30:35)
Continuity mistake: When a blast rocks the command centre during the battle on Hoth, C-3PO is thrown backwards into Han's arms. As the wideshot leaves, Threepio is leaning backwards, supported by Han, but in the next shot, both of them standing upright in a normal way. Toryn Farr, the woman sitting behind them, has changed position as well. (00:30:40)
Continuity mistake: When the AT-AT that Luke destroyed with a thermal detonator falls over, Luke is nowhere to be seen, even though he should be visible, judging from his position in the previous shot. (As noted in another mistake, the AT-AT is suddenly further away from him after he falls to the ground, but he is still to close to be out of shot when it falls over.). (00:31:45)
Continuity mistake: During the escape from Hoth, C-3PO is far behind Han and Leia as they are running to the Millennium Falcon after the cave-in blocks their path. When they reach the door, he is much closer to them. (00:32:40)
Revealing mistake: After the headless AT-AT begins to fall over, watch its back leg on the right side of the screen. You can see a broomstick being pushed up from under the set. It raises that foot up in order to ensure that the AT-AT falls to the left side of the screen. (00:33:00)
Revealing mistake: During the attack on the rebel base, after the headless AT-AT falls on the ground, another one shoots at the rebels. You can see the pyrotechnic charges where the impacts are. (00:33:05)
Revealing mistake: When the Millennium Falcon is being pursued by the Star Destroyers after leaving Hoth, for a few seconds you can see the light of the ship through one of the Star Destroyers as the Falcon flies in front of it in the second shot. (00:35:25)
Continuity mistake: Just after the Falcon leaves the hangar on Hoth, we see Luke watching the Falcon as it rises up into the sky. Look closely at Luke's head - he is looking at a point ahead of where the Falcon actually is. (00:35:45)
Other mistake: When the Millennium Falcon escapes Hoth and is pursued by the Star Destroyers, frantic movements cause them to collide. Watch the interior shot of the Star Destroyer as everybody is thrown around. Near the bottom of the screen one of the computer consoles comes away from the wall and is hurridly pushed back into place by a controller! (00:35:55)
Revealing mistake: When Luke quits Hoth, the planet is actually painted on a glass sheet but the problem is that you can see a line joining two sheets. (00:36:15)
Continuity mistake: When the Falcon is being pursued by the Star Destroyers after escaping Hoth, C-3PO enters the cockpit, attempting to talk with Han, but the ship shakes and he lands on Chewie. After Han says to check the deflector shields, Chewie pushes C-3PO off him, though C-3PO leaves his hand on Chewie's shoulder. In the next shot, C-3PO is suddenly standing at the other end of the cockpit, with his hand nowhere near Chewie. (00:37:10)
Continuity mistake: When Han says "Watch this!" when trying to get the Millennium Falcon to jump into hyperspace, C3PO turns his head around twice. (00:37:40)
Visible crew/equipment: While in hot-pursuit, Han and Chewie are desperately trying to fix the Millennium Falcon (just after C-3PO informs them of the damaged hyperdrive, making light-speed impossible). In one shot Chewbacca has a bare human thumb, without gloves or makeup, and can be easily spotted in the lower left part of the screen. (00:38:00)
Continuity mistake: When Luke crash lands on Dagobah, the view through his cockpit is crystal clear. But when the canopy pops open, the glass is dark tinted. (00:39:45)
