Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead

Corrected entry: After Sue Ellen pours the cereal in the salad bowl, she sets the box down on the table, with the front of the box facing the camera. In the very next shot, the back of the box in now facing the camera.

Correction: The camera is angled where they are sitting so the back of the box would show.

Corrected entry: When Walter falls from the roof and is hanging on the edge, his feet are the only part which are in front of the window, when shot from outside. Yet the shot from inside the house, looking out the same window, shows Walter from the waist down. (01:05:10)

Correction: Walter is at least a few feet from the window on the roof overhang, and the boys are all sitting on the floor when they look out the window. From their angle they can see more of Walter, much the same way you can see more of a taller object (tree, building, etc.) from a seated position as opposed to a standing one.

Jazetopher

Corrected entry: When Carolyn sneaks into Sue Ellen's office and finds her driver's license, you can see the license is printed on plain white construction paper instead of the thick plastic real licenses are made out of.

Correction: They weren't always made of thick plastic. They weren't even ALWAYS laminated. New crimes bring about changes.

Rlvlk

Corrected entry: In the scene where Sue Ellen is waking up to leave for her job, her alarm clock says 5:30, and it is very bright outside; however, in the summer, the sun doesn't rise until after 6:00 am.

Correction: I don't know where you live, but here on Canada's South West Coast, due north of California, in the summer it is light at 4:30 AM, and very bright out if it's sunny.

This takes place in Los Angeles where, even in summer, the sun doesn't rise until around 5:40 at the earliest. It would be light outside but no sunshine yet (like we see here in her windows), so technically the mistake is still correct.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Sue Ellen goes into Kenny's room in a towel, she calls him a "stupid punk", but her mouth says something different.

Correction: This entry is correct. She says prick.

Amy Emerick Tice

Correction: If you are watching the television version, it is probably dubbed to block the curse she uses. I believe she calls him some derogatory name.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Sue-Ellen has just come home from work, she places her pocketbook on the kitchen island. In the next scene the secretary is going through Sue-Ellen's office and finds her pocketbook and goes through it. How can that be if Sue-Ellen brought it home with her? (01:17:15 - 01:19:35)

Bryan: Not exactly your dream job, eh?
Sue Ellen "Swell" Crandell: Got that right. You think I woke up this morning and said, 'Gee, I'd love to scrub fat vats! I'd love to smile and work with raw meat'?

Trivia: The house in the film was actually a very nice-looking and well-kept house in a wealthy area. It was purposefully trashed and "dumbed down" to look like a run-down "poor family" house just for the film.

Question: When Sue Ellen is shown heading to work, wouldn't she be headed into the city, since Kenny says they live in "the boonies"? But she is shown leaving the city, envying the group of teens in the car next to her, who appear to be headed to the beach (also leaving the city).

Answer: People in LA commute in all sorts of directions for work. And the freeway you see is the 405 in West LA (not the "city" - or Downtown where she worked). This freeway would not even be her direct route anyway. All just made up in the film.
