Continuity mistake: Nadine tells her husband Lennox that they should disappear when they hit Jaffa. Lennox asks her "What do we use for money", his left arm folded, hand up. Close-up, and it's hanging all the way down. (00:17:30)
Continuity mistake: When Dr. King approaches Poirot with the scopolamine syrup, in close-up Ustinov's hand is a bit lower on the glass, and, the woman in the background, who had her hand up, has it down; not that she has a choice, since you can tell she is forced to keep firmly her hand down her side to hold in place her skirt (the wind would otherwise make it flap around all over the place). (00:17:55)
Continuity mistake: Emily Boynton tells her lawyer to stop the affair with her daughter-in-law and leave. He threatens her (not quite clear with what) and tells her "I want those children of yours to have a chance." Notice Emily's shadow, perfectly clear under the window. Next shot, and there's no shadow. (00:19:15)
Continuity mistake: On the ship, Emily plans to kill her lawyer who just left her cabin. She holds the bottle of heart medicine, and in close-up the fingers are positioned differently on it. (00:20:05)
Other mistake: The ship the characters use to get to Israel from Trieste is supposed to be named "San Salvatore", but the stock footage is a repeat of the exact same ship they used to get from the US to London, the St. Louis. (00:20:15)
Continuity mistake: When Emily picks Jefferson's glass, she is holding the bottle of expensive champagne at the bottom of the cloth, and at the top in close-up. (00:22:25)
Continuity mistake: When Emily pours champagne for Raymond, David Soul is smoking a cigarette he didn't have a moment earlier. (00:23:00)
Continuity mistake: Lennox pulls out of his jacket the infamous cigarette case. In the reaction shot, Carrie Fisher's fingers are curled, in the wider angle they are straight along her cheek. Notice in this shot also Carol, with her arms down her sides. Next shot and she has her hands clasped. (00:23:45)
Continuity mistake: After the beatdown, Cope clutches in hand his ill-advised gift to Nadine as he says "It was just a figure of speech." It's closed, but when he gets up it's open. (00:23:55)
Factual error: The car Poirot and Dr. King use to get to the hotel escorted by colonel Carbury (and then to Qumran) is a military Humber Snipe Mk II, making its first appearance in 1938. The movie is set in May 1937. (00:27:00)
Continuity mistake: Freshly arrived to the hotel in Jerusalem, Dr. King looks down from the balcony and spots Raymond eating something at the table with his family. In the next shot, he's not munching anymore, and he's already smiling at her. (00:28:05)
Continuity mistake: Sightseeing in Jerusalem, Nadine is reconciling with her husband and tells him to smile. Behind her, Dr. King reads a book and turns right to left. Three women walk in frame from the left. The camera cuts away, and next time we see Nadine there's a blatant repetition of the same movements; again King's half-turn and the two extras that walk into frame same as before. (00:30:15)
Continuity mistake: Carol sits down with Dr. King and begins explaining what was her mother did for a living before her marriage. King listens to her with her hands on her knees, which turn into clasped hands at the cut. She then listens leaning her chin against her fist, and under certain camera angles the hand stays there even when she changes position. (00:31:50)
Factual error: The movie is set in May 1937, considering that the finale happens during the coronation ball for George VI, May 12 1937. However, in an earlier scene in the hotel lobby (when the matriarch blocks her son's path with her cane) Poirot is reading a copy of The Palestine Post from July 8th of the same year. (00:34:00)
Continuity mistake: In Qumran, Poirot inquires about the disappearance of Cope. When Healey tells him "And there's more bad news", the extras in the background have changed. (00:36:00)
Visible crew/equipment: The car with the Boynton clan nearly runs over a member of the British Parliament. Tragedy is averted, but Emily replies with a scoff and "Blaaah." In the car window, you can see behind Lauren Bacall some guy with a red baseball cap that doesn't quite fit the setting and doesn't appear elsewhere (reasonable to assume it's the cameraman). (00:38:15)
Continuity mistake: Raymond timidly approaches Dr. King at the buffet of the Qumran campsite. A local with a big turban walks behind them right to left to grab something behind the watermelon. Cut to a different angle for a couple seconds, and when we're back to the first, the same extra repeats the exact same movement. (00:38:45)
Continuity mistake: Poirot waves goodbye from Carbury's car as they leave for a tour of Acre. Sarah King waves back. Behind her in the background David Soul is at his own table, sitting staring ahead. Cut to Emily suggesting everyone to go for a walk; Soul is standing, wearing his hat already and facing the other direction. And it's a shot supposedly in continuity, because the same extra is walking outside the tent in both. (00:40:00)
Continuity mistake: The Boynton kids are crowding the mother preparing her according to her instructions. Ginny reluctantly goes to bed, Nadine brings her the medicine, and Raymond walks around her to get to the other side; the shadows in these two shots are different, as shown by the tent's peg, in the shade first, in the sun a second later. (00:40:35)
Continuity mistake: When Raymond invites Dr. King at the postprandial trek, his hand is right next a large crease on the towel, completely ironed out when the angle changes. (00:41:30)
