Corrected entry: In the scene at the diner where Jim Carrey parts the soup. There are two coffee cups close to the wall. After a cut, one jumps to right in front of him.
Corrected entry: When Bruce steps in the puddle and his left pant leg gets wet, throughout the first meeting with God, the stain changes length and actually disappears when he's pushed back by the filing cabinet draw.
Correction: His leg is wet up to just under his knee throughout the scene, including the ride on the drawer. The stain is a little lower when he checks the cabinet and when he steps in (actually on) the puddle the second time, but that's not really enough to account for a mistake.
Corrected entry: After Bruce gets fired he puts his box of personal items on his car to stop the "gang" from harrasing the bum with the signs, the box disappears when the gang surround him and his car and then it reappears in one of the gang member's hands when he throws it at Bruce.
Correction: He puts the box down on the ground, that's why it's not visible till one of the gang members throws it at him.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Bruce is driving and asking God to give him a sign, he sees a truck full of stop signs and caution signs. He also makes a turn and the camera is directly in front of him but his hands do not move while his car makes the turn.
Correction: He overtakes the truck, and we see him moving the steering wheel in line with that.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Bruce leaves the newsroom meeting about the sweeps toward the beginning of the movie, Bruce's boss is getting a sandwich. When it's handed to him, it's whole and he walks away while talking with Bruce. By the time they get to the boss's office door, the sandwich is cut in half.
Correction: There is one continous shot that starts when Bruce's boss buys the sandwich (where the cut is not visible) and that ends with a perspective where the cut is very well visible. That's before Bruce knocks the sandwich up in the air.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Jim Carrey is in the TV studio and he makes the anchor guy (Steve Carell) talk gibberish, there's a glass of water by the anchor while he's talking gibberish, then they switch to the camera men and then back, and his co-anchor hands him a glass of water from under the desk - the other one is gone.
Correction: There's no glass of water anywhere before Susan gets one from under the table.
Corrected entry: Bruce couldn't make Grace walk toward him in the playground due to free will, so how is it possible that he could make the other anchorman talk gibberish? He didn't want to say those things, therefore his free will was violated.
Corrected entry: When Grace is at the restaurant watching all of the LOVE BRUCE commercials, if you look closely you can see Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston's husband, sitting in one of the seats.
Correction: Although this guy REALLY does look like Brad it's not him. The guy we see is a little chunkier then Brad and with darker hair.
Corrected entry: The entire movie takes place during hockey season in Buffalo, NY. There should be a foot or two of snow on the ground and the temperatures are normally in the 20's or 30's. In the movie, every day was bright and sunny. In fact, towards the end of the film the radio announcer says it's 70 degrees. Seems to me that somebody should have researched Buffalo's weather a little better.
Correction: While the movie takes place during hockey season in Buffalo, it is the playoffs, not the regular season, that is occuring in the film. The NHL playoffs begin in April and are largely contained within May and June. The film states in one of the newscasts that the Sabres won the Stanley Cup. It is fair to assume that the movies takes place around this time. The Stanley Cup finals occur entirely within the month of June. Thus, sunny and 70 degree weather in Buffalo seems reasonable for June.
Corrected entry: When Grace hands Bruce the photos to look at towards the beginning of the movie, he flips through some of them laying them down on his lap, but a few seconds later it shows him with no photos in his lap.
Correction: She can be seen in the previous shot taking the photos out of his lap.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Bruce crashes his car into the fire hydrant, he hits it head on. Shouldn't his airbag have gone off?
Correction: His car was made before air bags were standard equipment.
Corrected entry: When Bruce gets beat up by the gang they show the word "HERO" carved in his driver's side door. The gang did not have enough time to do that during or after the fight.
Correction: The fight could have taken longer than what we see on screen. Would we really want to see a guy being beaten up for 10 minutes?
Corrected entry: There was nowhere near enough change in the world to reflect all the answered prayers which supposedly took place. People may have prayed for dead relatives to come back to life, others might pray for the destruction of the entire world, some people may have prayed for it to rain candy bars, some people may have prayed for rain forests to grow in the middle of deserts. Someone may have prayed that a day takes longer, or that years were shorter. The fact is, the entire universe could have drastically changed if everybody's prayers were to truly be answered, but there's barely any visible effect at all.
Correction: This is too ridiculous of a statement to be a valid plot hole. Plus, people who actually believe in a benevolent God wouldn't pray for the entire world to be destroyed. And wishes aren't prayers so people who believe and pray to God with faith don't treat him as a genie to grant them ridiculous wishes, like raining candy bars. Prayer in the context of the film is specific, so inappropriate prayers, or prayers to Satan, non-Christian deities, or other beings wouldn't be "answered" by "God."
It's also possible that God kept an eye on things, and made sure to overrule some of the more dangerous prayer requests.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Bruce is training the dog that the house is not a bathroom and outside is, he goes between the words bathroom and house turning back and forth to each one. During the rant, he says "bathroom" while facing the house and "house" while facing the tree outside.
Corrected entry: When Bruce and Grace are arguing about having a mediocre lives, if you pause it at the right moment, you will see that the box actually starts moving a second before Bruce (Jim Carey) touches it. (Most visible on DVD.)
Correction: According to site rules, if you have to pause, slo-mo, or zoom in to see something, it's not a movie mistake.
Corrected entry: When Bruce first meets God, or the janitor as he thinks it is then, you can see the sign "Stairway" in many shots. A little play on the song "Stairway to Heaven."
Correction: Far too obvious to be trivia and the phrase "Stairway to Heaven" didn't originate from the song, it is an ancient expression.
Corrected entry: When Bruce is stuck in traffic at the beginning of the movie, you can see the ambulance in towards the back of the shot. But the traffic going towards the camera is stopped when it is past the accident. This makes no sense. (00:07:55)
Correction: Who says the entire jam was caused by that one crash? There could've been something else down the road holding up everything past the accident we see.
Corrected entry: The scene where Bruce is kneeling in the rain before he gets hit by the truck is reminiscent of the scene in the Shawshank Redemption (which also starred Morgan Freeman) when Tim Robbins escapes.
Correction: All well and good, but not really trivia.
Corrected entry: Bruce's car in the movie has the license plates A1m1ghty.
Correction: It's ALMTY1, not A1m1ghty, that wouldn't even fit.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Bruce is going to do his first stint as anchor on the Monday 6:00 news, the control room is seen celebrating the Sabres winning the Stanley Cup. The news director says "The Sabres JUST won the Stanley Cup". When is the last time a Stanley Cup finals game ended at 6:00 PM on a Monday night?
Correction: When you look carefully (better backwards) you see that at the beginning of the shot where the cup has been moved Jim's hand is right at the cup, and he has obviously moved it there.
