Trivia: In the end when the family is climbing over the hills to safety, it is not really Gretl on the shoulders of Captain Von Trapp. On the DVD, it's revealed that while in Austria, Kym Karath gained a lot of weight. This was one of the last shots filmed and so she was a bit too heavy to be carried on Christopher Plummer's back, so he requested a lighter double.

Visible crew/equipment: In the "Roxie" number, just after Roxie sings "that means somebody everyone knows" she goes down a line of mirrors and as she does you can see three crew members with what looks to be a camera in front of the middle one. Their figures are somewhat dark, so it's a bit hard to see, but it's there.

Revealing mistake: In the flashback scene in the bar, one of the girl scouts slams the other girl scout onto the floor and one can see the mat that the girl lands on. It had been covered in dirt or dust but when the girl lands it is swept away and you can see one of the corners of the mat. (00:16:40)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning during the breakfast scene, the eggs splatter all over everyone and some gets on Steve Martin's chin and you can see it fall off, they then show a shot of FedEx and then show Steve Martin again and the egg is back on his chin. (00:10:15)
