Continuity mistake: When Wolverine can't sleep, he hands Bobby the soda bottle and the contents are almost full, but when Bobby blows on the bottle and hands the chilled bottle back to Wolverine the contents are much lower. Continuity mistake: When Wolverine is tramping through the snow to Alkali Lake, you get a long shot of him looking at a wolf with the sides of his hair are styled so they're sticking up at least three inches. After he goes through the gate, his hair is totally flat. (00:06:10 - 00:06:55)
Continuity mistake: Near the start Logan is inside Cerebro with Xavier and Xavier turns to talk to him. The chair he's sitting in doesn't go any higher than the top of his back, yet a few shots later, the chair is now above his neck. (00:20:45 - 00:21:15)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where we see the X-Men and Magneto inside the jet at Alkali Lake, they are going over a map of the base, the camera cuts to Nightcrawler and Pyro, in this shot we see Pyro with his hands behind the head rest not visible, yet in the following shot his hands are now visible above his head, then the shot after back to being behind the head rest. Trivia: Mystique transforms into a blonde woman to seduce the security guard. This blonde woman is actually the normal appearance of Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, who plays Mystique. It's the only time we see her without the blue makeup until she's depowered in X-Men 3.
Answer: Stryker was trying to get permission from the President to raid the school on the grounds that it is a mutant training facility. Mystique interjects and claims it is a docile boarding school in an attempt to dissuade the President from granting Stryker's request, as she doesn't want the students at the school to be harmed.
