Continuity mistake: When Tom and Sarah are lying in bed at the Pensione, in the top shot of both of them, her pillowcase decorative edge opening is on her right. Yet when he asks, "Want to show those paisans how it's done?" it's on her left. (00:52:25)
Continuity mistake: At the Hotel Gianna, when Tom and Wendy are in the hallway, he unlocks the door. In the hallway, there is a ceramic vase next to the lamp on the marble top table. Then Wendy goes after Tom and in the next shot from inside the room the hallway is seen, the lamp is on the table, but the ceramic vase is not there. (01:14:35)
Continuity mistake: As Tom drives out of the parking garage, 'Just Married!' is on the back window of his car. In the very next shot, pulling up to Sarah's parents' home, 'Just Married!' is seen again, but it is written differently than in the previous shot, most noticeably the heart over the letter 'i' disappears. Then when pulling away from the house, the 'Just Married!' is different yet again. (00:02:55)
Continuity mistake: At the Hotel Gianna, Sarah gives Tom the telephone to speak with her father and there is a cloth hanging over the side of the wine bucket near the chaise lounge. Then when Tom hangs up the phone, the cloth is now inside the wine bucket. No one touched it. (00:53:25)
Continuity mistake: After crashing through the wall at the Pensione, Tom and Sarah are lying on another couple's bed. In the wide shot Tom's head is near a bunch of plaster and certain colors in the crochet blanket. Sarah's watch face is seen too. Next shot Tom's head is not where it was before and Sarah's watch face is under her wrist now. Her hand is on his shoulder and her hair hangs in front of her left shoulder. The next shot her hand is lower on his chest and her hair is not in front of her left shoulder. (00:52:05)
Continuity mistake: When Tom and Kyle ram the McNerney gate with Tom's car, in the close-up and following wide shot the front fender damage on the car is very different. (01:26:45)
Continuity mistake: Tom and Sarah are on the deck at her house and Tom takes hold of her hand and stands very close. In the next shot, he's not holding her hand and they stand further apart. (00:09:45)
Continuity mistake: When Tom forces the plug into the European outlet he's blown backwards, flips over the chair and knocks the red pillow onto the floor. In the next shot as Sarah asks him if he's okay, the red pillow is still on the chair. (00:40:35)
Audio problem: When Tom wakes Sarah and says, "Sweetie, our plane leaves in an hour," she slams her face into his. The loud, distinctive, punching sound effect is completely overdone. (00:29:35)
Continuity mistake: During the scene with Bags growling, pulling on Tom's pants and chasing the ball, the rug on the floor changes position in different shots, note the frill edges. (00:11:40)
Revealing mistake: When Tom is threatening Peter with the poker in the hotel room, Peter does a kata stance and blurts that he studied with a Chinese grand master. While looking at Christian Kane (Peter) hamming it up, we see Brittany Murphy (Sarah) start to laugh, but she tries to keep it together for the take, given the seriousness of that particular moment. Continuity mistake: When Tom is playing football with Sarah and her family, Willy goes to knock him over. He pushes Tom in one direction, but in the next shot Tom falls down on the ground facing the opposite way.
Continuity mistake: Tom goes upstairs and puts his mail down on the desk. In the next shot when he sits, some of the things on the desk change position, for example the lamp with the silver base moves to the other side of the wicker basket. Then in the next close-up of the answering machine and phone, they change position too. (00:05:20)
Continuity mistake: At Pensione Funicello, when Tom and Sarah are kissing, as he removes his jacket and sweatshirt, there's a wide shot, close-up and a second wide shot. Between the first and second wide shots, her coat and bags on the chair, the red luggage and other luggage on the floor, more plaster and bulb shades, all change positions. For example, the red luggage goes from lying to upright. (00:51:50)
Continuity mistake: Tom and Sarah excitedly drive up to her parents' house, already dressed up, to announce their engagement and she's wearing something with red spaghetti straps, but in the next shot announcing their engagement in the living room, her spaghetti strap dress is beige. She does not change clothes. (00:14:00)
Continuity mistake: When Tom throws a snowball at the blue car trying to get help after their car is stuck in the snow, Tom and Sarah are standing right next to the car. However, when the blue car backs up and pushes their car over the cliff, the couple is nowhere near the car. This was edited from a longer sequence, with a shot of them jumping out of the way, that was deleted. (00:47:35)
Continuity mistake: In the scene when Tom and Sarah are in the castle and the bellboy brings up their suitcases, Sarah is hugging Tom. Sarah's hair is curly at the bottom but when she tells Tom what the bellboy is saying the bottom of her hair is straight. (00:38:35)
Continuity mistake: In the scene after the wedding when Tom and Sarah go to the hotel they fall on the bed, Sarah says that she's tired and they get ready for bed. Sarah then starts to moan because she won't be 'doing it' on their wedding night and Tom gets close and tell her that it was okay and that he loved her. At this time, Tom's face is close to Sarah's but in the next shot his head it quite far away. How can he move his head so quickly in that amount of time?
Continuity mistake: Tom, Sarah and Peter are in a huddle, and in the first wide shot Tom's yellow flags are not there, but in the next close-up shot, still in a huddle, the flags are at his thighs. (00:16:40)
Continuity mistake: When Tom's leg is being harassed by Bags, in the wide shots Tom's left sleeve of his football jersey is tucked up with plenty of blue showing. However, in the close-ups the sleeve is tucked further up, to the red stripe. (00:11:20)
