Stupidity: After all the singing and dancing at the Tent Revival, Lt Elizondo yells at her fellow officers "It's a Trick, they've brainwashed the Captain, get 'em." Considering her and everyone else just witnessed the Captain float into the sky surrounded by fireworks and miraculously change into a black suit her "brainwashing" assumption is truly stupid.

Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)
1 stupidity
Directed by: John Landis
Starring: John Goodman, Dan Aykroyd, Frank Oz, Tom Davis, Walter Levine
Factual error: When Cable calls his mother in Phoenix from his desk in Chicago, he only dials seven digits, as if making a local call.
Mighty Mack: The suit's real neat, but do I have to wear the hat?
Elwood Blues: These are unsophisticated men. They only respond to fear and the draw of lucre. We elicit this by using iconographic symbols, and psychological intimidation. The way we look together presents a uniform image of strength and organization. Don't say anything. Look mean. No smiling.
Trivia: The studio reportedly forced a number of changes during the production, including adding more fantastical elements (such as the Voodoo witch), toning the film down to a PG-13 and adding a child character to try to make it appeal to younger audiences. Director John Landis and star Dan Aykroyd hated these changes and nearly walked off the film, but begrudgingly agreed to remain on board. They both reportedly aren't very fond of the final film.
Question: Is it ever specified in this movie or in any of the books or biographies written about the Blues Brothers exactly where, when or how Jake dies?

Chosen answer: No. We only know that he died sometime during his jail term. There's no more explanation after that.
