Continuity mistake: When Deeds and Emilio make the echo noises, an old man walks in and makes an echo too. Keep an eye on the man standing behind Deeds and Emilio in the elevator. Between shots he walks out the elevator twice. (00:19:15)
Continuity mistake: When making the echo noises together, the man from the elevator is standing behind Deeds and Emilio. He is wearing white gloves, but for one shot they disappear. (00:19:30)
Continuity mistake: When Deeds punches the quarterback in Chuck's office, the quarterback falls to the floor and lands by a carpet, but isn't laying on it. Yet in the following closeup, he is laying on the carpet. (00:24:15)
Audio problem: When Marty, the fake mugger, runs away, he sees Deeds chasing him and runs faster, yelling "Oh Sh*t!" His mouth doesn't move at all to this sentence though. (00:26:20)
Continuity mistake: When Deeds hits the fake mugger to the floor and starts punching him, the street is totally visible, and is empty. Yet when Deeds finishes beating up the mugger, the red handbag that was stolen appears out of nowhere. (00:26:35)
Audio problem: After the mugging, Deeds and Pam walk off, and Marty who has been beaten up mutters "Damn you, Old spice." His mouth doesn't move at all to this line. (00:29:05)
Continuity mistake: When Deeds and Ms. Dawson join some people at their table, in a restaurant, there is a big opera singer. In one back shot, you see the opera singer lift his glass to his lips, yet when the shot changes, he is sitting normal, drink down, hands on lap. (00:31:25)
Continuity mistake: In the restaurant, Deeds pushes the opera singer into a table. Between shots the mess around the table changes. In a closeup, there's plates of food/cake surrounding the table that weren't there in the previous wideshot, and the cloth and broken table changes too. (00:33:35)
Revealing mistake: In the restaurant, Deeds pushes the opera singer into a table - you can tell the opera man falling, is in fact a stunt double. (00:33:35)
Continuity mistake: When Deeds opens the coffin, and his uncle pops up. Between a wide shot and a closeup, his uncle's arm changes which direction it's facing, and the frozen expression on his face changes, too. (00:40:05)
Continuity mistake: When Deeds is eating Cocoa Pebbles, Emilio walks in with some pie with whipped cream on the top. Moments later a large scoop of ice cream appears on the plate too. (00:41:00)
Continuity mistake: When Emilio is telling Deeds that his mother died while giving birth, you see Emilio look down at the ground. The camera angle changes and he's now seen looking straight up at Deeds and then you see him looking down again. (00:41:55)
Continuity mistake: When Deeds is eating cereal, he offers Emilio some, who refuses, then Deeds puts the cereal box back down, and the box front is facing the screen, but in the following shot the box is turned sideways. (00:42:00)
Continuity mistake: When Pam and Deeds are sitting at the water fountain, Pam's little camera appears and disappears a few times between shots. (00:46:10 - 00:48:25)
Continuity mistake: When Deeds is climbing up the pole to get to the woman's window because her flat is on fire, he puts his left leg on the top of the traffic light twice. (00:48:45)
Revealing mistake: Somebody has already pointed out that the footage of Deeds throwing the cats out of the window is obviously not caught on Pam's camera. In addition, notice that there is no guttering/pole to the left of Mrs. Keeling's flat window - it is on the right. Yet on the TV footage, there is a metal pole to the left of her window. Another point is that Mrs. Keeling's flat is on the corner of a street, yet when we see footage of the cats flying out of the window, her flat isn't at the corner of a street, it's in the centre of a row of flats. (00:48:55 - 00:51:45)
Continuity mistake: The most flame retardant box of cereal ever! When Deeds saves the woman from the burning building, there is a box of cereal next to the window that is on fire, and only on fire at the top of the box. The scene takes three or four minutes, yet through it all the fire never spreads to the rest of the box or dies out. The top just keeps on burning. Product placement, methinks... (00:49:05 - 00:50:45)
Continuity mistake: After Freddy, the first cat, lands in Pam's arms, she yells, "Good throw, Deeds". In the following shot, before Deeds rescues the other cats from the fire, the policeman on the left can be seen holding and stroking a different cat. (00:49:50)
Continuity mistake: The second cat that Deeds rescues is a gray and black tabby with white paws, but when it is about to hit the catcher, it's turned into a ginger cat. When a man comes out of the manhole with the cat in his arms, it's a gray and white tabby with dark paws. (00:49:50)
Revealing mistake: When the dog catches the cat, which bounces off the trampoline, it is blatantly obvious the dog in fact has a soft toy cat in his mouth. (00:50:05)
Answer: Babe Bennett stole Preston Blake's journal from Longfellow Deeds. As for why she dyed her hair, it was probably part of her disguise. She was a TV journalist pretending to be someone else (as Pam Dawson) so she could get a story on Longfellow.
