Continuity mistake: Near the start, when the kid is holding the card of Babe Ruth in his hand, the position of his fingers on the card changes between shots.
Lou Gehrig: People have to live their own lives. Nobody can live it for you. Nobody could have made a baseball player out of Uncle Otto, and nobody can make anything but a baseball player out of me.
Trivia: At the end of the film Lou is seen walking off the field into the dugout. In truth after the speech, Lou had to be helped into the dugout and left the ballpark in a wheelchair.
