Continuity mistake: In the last scene where Brad and Caroline are apologising to Sam, when he says, "You think we didn't know?" and Caroline says, "Yeah", her head is straight, but the next shot her head is on a right tilt. (01:44:20)
Continuity mistake: When Brad and Bob are talking about the "Shiatzu 2000", Brad pulls out a face mask and starts putting it on. But during this it cuts to a shot from his back and he is now not fastening the mask to his face, even though he could not have had that fixed in such a short time. (00:15:15)
Continuity mistake: When Caroline is talking to little Anna about Henner and Hannah and the meaning "You go girl", watch the position of the doll in Caroline's arms. It changes between shots. (00:42:05)
Continuity mistake: When Brad is trying to plow the field with Big John, watch the sky. In the first couple of shots you can see the sky is fully blue and not a cloud in them, but when Big John drags Brad away, the sky is cloudy. (00:48:00)
Continuity mistake: When the two IRS agents are driving around after Brad Sexton after he has left the bank, the window of the car with the two agents in it is rolled up in one shot. Next shot from inside the car shows driver window to be down, but a wide angle of the car shows it up again.
Continuity mistake: The blonde streaks in Kirstie Alley's hair appear and disappear all throughout the movie. This is especially noticable in the bedroom scene on the first night they stay at the Yoders.
Continuity mistake: When Brad and Caroline are fighting (the first time, before they go into their separate bedrooms), watch Caroline's cigarette; it goes from long, to a medium size, and it keeps switching back. Also, the amount of ash on her cigarette changes between shots. (00:09:50)
Continuity mistake: When Brad Sexton steals the cab and is running from the IRS agents, his seatbelt switches from on to off many times.
Continuity mistake: When Jacob, Samuel, and Huener go to the real estate office, it is sunny out. But when they are in the office, you can see through the window that it is raining outside. A couple of shots later, it's sunny again and people are walking by the window.
Continuity mistake: When Caroline and her friends are at the restaurant talking about Caroline's friends divorce lawyer, Caroline's cigarette changes length from long to short between shots. (00:16:35)
Continuity mistake: When Brad and Caroline are having dinner with the Yoders for the first time, Caroline is served a big sausage. Watch the sausage, it changes position between shots. (00:40:50)
Continuity mistake: The car that Lester is driving when he is chasing Brad, has a dent on the bottom of the car that reappears and disappears as the scene goes on. It is also visible when Lester gets in the car before the dent happens.
Continuity mistake: In several of the close and distant shots of the taxi chase, Caroline's position in the backseat changes from not there, to left side, to center.
Continuity mistake: When Rebecca and Henner are about to take their first kiss as a married couple, and Brad and Caroline follow suit, the closeness of each couple changes between shots. (01:30:00 - 01:30:40)
