Trivia: Have a close look at the Predator's trophy collection on his spaceship. Taking pride of place is a skull from the creature in the Alien movies. (01:33:05)
Trivia: With this film, Bill Paxton completes the trifecta of being killed by an Alien, a Predator, and a Terminator.
Trivia: The plot of Predator 2 underwent a few changes in its earliest stages. The role of Gary Busey's character 'Keyes' was actually intended to be Dutch, Arnold Schwarzenegger's character from the first film. Arnold was very outspoken against the script of Predator 2, and felt that taking it into the city was a bad idea. He declined filling the role. Hence, Peter Keyes was created. Arnold was approached one more time, to be Keyes' assistant (a role played by Adam Baldwin), but his response was the same as the first time: no way.
Trivia: Only 2 faces were ever cast for the Predator creature. The face used for the creature in Predator 2 was new, but if you notice, the face used for the elder at the end of the movie was the same head sculpt from the first film, but with spikey protrusions and more distinguished features of age added onto the face. Both were played by Kevin Peter Hall.
Trivia: Danny Glover was a huge fan of the Los Angeles Lakers - some of the team play predators at the end.
Answer: The predators are honour bound hunters, and as such they will only attack a target if it is capable of defending itself (i.e, if it is armed, which is why it doesn't attack the boy in the cemetary). Although the police outside were armed as well, the Predator presumably attacked the drug dealers because they were a harder target (as the police were outside he could have just sniped them from the roof tops, but he had to get relatively close inside the building) and as such, killing them gave a higher honour. The obsession with Danny Glover's character is probably because he is quite a brave and heroic person, similar to a Predator (the way he saves the other cop by risking himself etc.), so the predator may have been studying him for a while. There's also more honour in killing someone like that (as he'd be a hard target) than there is in just killing a random armed guy.
