Continuity mistake: It is obvious that Carla shoots Cain in the head, but when Foley looks down at him, there is no bullet hole or blood on his head, but there is blood on his abdomen like he was shot there. (01:18:00 - 01:19:00)
Continuity mistake: When Axel, Rosewood, and Taggart pull up beside the racetrack near the end of the film, you see the front and back doors on the passenger side opening, with Axel exiting the front, and Taggart exiting the back passenger side. Next shot, we see the car from the driver side with Rosewood exiting the front driver side, but now Taggart is exiting the back driver side. (01:23:50)
Continuity mistake: In the ending shootout, Judge Reinhold extends a rocket launcher. Then in the next shot, he does it again.
Continuity mistake: When they are in the police station using the co-ordinates that were locked in the drawer of Charles Cain's office it comes up with 9762 Gregory Way for the city deposit but when they are driving to the city deposit Sergeant Taggart radios in that they need help at 341 Gregory Way.
Continuity mistake: When Karla uses the stopwatch during the Adriano's heist, her left arm is raised as she shouts, "Now!" and puts the stopwatch in her pocket, but a few shots later her left arm is still raised holding the stopwatch and she puts it in her pocket again. A few shots later, yet again, she is holding that stopwatch raised in her left hand and she shouts, "Time!" (00:02:15)
Continuity mistake: In the scene at the police station with Lutz, the Mayor and others, the Mayor starts rolling down his sleeves as he prepares to put his jacket on and depart. But in the very next shot (only a second later based on continuous audio) his jacket is completely on as he is walking out. There was insufficient time for him to do this.
Continuity mistake: When Axel, Rosewood, and Taggart are racing to get to the Emperian Fields racetrack the red police beacon once again falls off of the car on a hard left turn. The next shot the beacon is back on top of the car. (01:20:10)
Continuity mistake: When Dent's crew are outside the race track in their limo, Dent is tapping a cigarette and holding something silver. In the next shot his hands are empty.
Continuity mistake: When Bogomil was running out at Dent's oil fields it was a dry and dusty day. He stopped and picked up some of the dirt - and it was very loose. But there is wet mud on his sneakers. Furthermore with the amount of mud left underneath he would have had to have gotten into a car immediately and driven home - not run - otherwise it would have fallen off. There is so much mud that he couldn't have walked many steps without it falling off.
Continuity mistake: When Rosewood and Taggart are by the window and Rosewood is going to use the gum foil trick, he's looking at the window and holding his shotgun. In the next shot, the gun is already set down with no time passing.
Continuity mistake: When the trio is driving to the racetrack, there's a shot of Axel in the backseat when he was in the front seat. This is the same shot from when they were driving to the City Deposit, with Axel in the backseat, after Axel asks if the car can go any faster.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning when Bogomil is talking to Axel on the phone, he's holding the newspaper clipping with his index and middle fingers extended. When the shot changes, his fingers are tucked behind his thumb.
Continuity mistake: When Axel enters Inspector Todd's office before going to LA, the clock on the wall reads about 3:54. Fifteen seconds later when Todd comes around his desk, it reads 3:59 or 4:00. (00:19:40)
Continuity mistake: When Chip is talking with Axel in the gun club he starts putting a cigar in his mouth. In the next immediate wider shot, he repeats the action.
Continuity mistake: When Rosewood, Axel and Tagert reach the racetrack, Rosewood stops the car parallel to the stone wall and they open the car doors, but in the next shot the car is parallel to the turnstile gate entrance as they exit the car. (01:23:40)
Continuity mistake: The same exterior shot of the Beverly Hills Police Dept is shown three times, with the same people standing/walking around in front. The first is just before Bogomil opens the 'A' envelope. Continuity mistake: When Axel places the matchbook in the turtle-quarium it is almost closed. When Axel comes back after the call, and the finger print shows, the matchbook is open.
