Beverly Hills Cop II

Corrected entry: In the scene where Axel, Taggart and Rosewood are leaving the club, 385 North, it's dark outside, yet you can see the driver in the car with sunglasses on. And even when the shoot out begins, you can see the driver wearing sunglasses, even though you can plainly see it's dark outside.

Correction: I do not see what is wrong with this. The man is a thug and most professional thugs/criminals wear sunglasses so passers-by have a more difficult time recognizing them.

Corrected entry: The sky in almost every scene, in both Detroit and Beverly Hills, is some funky shade of ORANGE.

Correction: How is this a mistake? It was probably done on purpose by the filmmakers.

Corrected entry: In the scene when Axel is making a call to Jeffrey, Jeffrey tells him that it is 1 a.m. and later when the cops are identifying fingerprints at the police station, Taggart tells them that it is 11 p.m. and the club they want to go to is closed at that time. It is still the same day, impossible.

Correction: Jeffrey is in Detroit and Axel is in Los Angeles, The time difference makes this possible.

Vernon Gilmore

Corrected entry: Axel is speaking to Paul Rieser's character on the phone in Det. Rosewood's home and Rieser says it's 1 AM, but later that night at the police station Det. Taggart says it's almost 11 PM when Axel wants to go to the gun range.

Correction: I am not sure what the mistake is specifically. Axel's partner in Detroit says it is 1 am, which means it is 10 pm in LA when Axel calls. There is only approximately an hour between making the call and deciding to go to the gun club. I do not see anything wrong with this.

Bruce Minnick

Corrected entry: In the scene where Axel and Rosewood are in the cement truck, Axel asks "Well do the brakes work" and Rosewood replies, "I don't know, I haven't tried them yet", but previously when Taggart is chasing the cement truck on foot you can see the brake lights.

Correction: Rosewood is making a sarcastic joke, as he is driving fast and wildly.

Soylent Purple

Corrected entry: When the TV News report about Bogomil's shooting, they say that he was leading the investigation into "the so-called Alphabet Crimes". However before he was shot, there was only one crime - the Adriano's robbery.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: The reporter called it the "Alphabet Crimes" because the media received a cryptic message after the Adriano's robbery which suggested more crimes would occur.

BaconIsMyBFF

Corrected entry: In the meeting at the police station with among others Chief Lutz and the mayor you see part of technical equipment in the top left corner of the screen - several times."

Jacob La Cour

Correction: What you keep seeing at the top of the screen is not the filming crew's equipment, it's the bottom of the police monitors that hang directly over the conference table. When Rosewood shows Axel the shell casings (before Axel does his Johnny Wishbone thing), we can see those monitors over the conference table.

Super Grover

Corrected entry: When Lt. Bogomil gets shot in a driveby while helping Brigette Nielsen's character with her car, you can plainly see that the driveby car is a black 1987 Camaro. However, later in the movie the same gunmen are shown driving a black 1977 Camaro.

Correction: I'm having a hard time seeing the mistake here. Basically what's being stated is that 2 different cars are being used by the same criminals on 2 different occasions? Not only is it entirely plausible that they used a second car for a different shooting, but it is a good idea, in case the plate of the car they used in the Bogomil shooting was reported by an eyewitness (since it was a shooting in broad daylight and all). A smart criminal might have ditched the car entirely.

jshy7979

Corrected entry: In the jewelery store the front door is locked by the employee at gun point. When Karla leaves she simply pushes the door open and walks out.

Correction: Actually, after the chandelier falls, Karla fires her gun (we see and hear her do it) at the front door's lock, before pushing the door open and walking out.

Super Grover

Corrected entry: It doesn't make sense that Chief Lutz calls it 'The Alphabet Code' already after the first letter. It's all numbers. The only letter is A on the back - which stands for Adriano's. How would he know whether there would be a second letter with a B on?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Lutz makes an assumption based on his years of experience in law enforcement. Based on the nature of the letter and the prominent "A" on the back he surmises that he is dealing with a serial criminal who is going to commit crimes based on the letters of the alphabet.

BocaDavie

Corrected entry: After Bogomil gets shot while helping Karla, he falls to the side of his car in the street. Then when we see Karla and the men in the Camaro speed off, Bogomil is lying face down in the parkway getting soaked by the running sprinklers.

Correction: As he gets shot you see him land on his car's trunk and roll to his left, heading for the ground face first. This fits in perfectly with him ending up on the grass, face down.

Corrected entry: When Axel & Rosewood are at the federal bank and the armoured car is racing towards them, Axel sends Rosewood to get "some wheels". It seems to take Rosewood only several seconds to run all the way up the street, jack/hot-wire the truck and pick Axel up.

Correction: When Axel and Rosewood are seen running past the truck, the drum is turning indicating that the truck is running with the keys already in it. Also, the truck is parked only a few hundred feet from the city deposit gate.

Corrected entry: Brigitte shoots up the chandelier during the final moments of the first robbery, yet as it drops into the showcase and Brigitte stalks out of the shop you can still hear her gun being fired.

Correction: I watched it closely and she's firing separate shots at the door.

Corrected entry: Axel introduces himself at the gun club as 'Richard James', which was the name of Eddie Murphy's musician friend who produced his 1986 album.

Correction: Incorrect. Eddie Murphy's 1985 album was produced by Aquil Fudge with the exception of the single "Party All The Time" which was produced by Rick James, not Richard James.

MasterOfAll

Corrected entry: When Axel Foley is chasing the armoured truck that has all the money from the race track in it, the police light on the car falls off, but then in the next shot it is on again.

Correction: When I watched this film, the 'police light falling off' happened twice on two different occasions. However, both of these were at junctions, and what seemed to be a police light falling off was actually a reflection of the red light from the traffic lights.

Beverly Hills Cop II mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: When the trio are driving to the City Deposit/Federal Reserve Bank, in the shot just before hitting the white/red booth, the extended crane arm with the second camera and seated cameraman are visible behind the booth (for filming from opposite angle). (01:03:25)

Axel Foley: Well, sir, you have 25 unpaid parking tickets and it's your car, so we have to take you in.
Sidney Bernstein: Wait a second, I've got an idea. Is there something that I have, in this office, that I could hand to you and that would, make you...kinda forget that you're holding those, uh, little pink tickets there?
Axel: What are you trying to say, sir?
Sidney: Like, you'd be holding something in that hand, and this hand you'd forget about. This hand you'd be concentrating on. That hand you'd go, what, what did I have there? I don't even remember.
Axel: What, you mean, like, if I had um... $200 in this hand?
Sidney: Ouch! Let go of my arm. $200? Ouch! Please, I'm robbing you. That's what I'm doing. Here's one, here's two. They're real crisp.

More quotes from Beverly Hills Cop II

Trivia: In the scene where Foley first visits Rosewood's apartment, he at some point pauses and looks at a poster of Sylvester Stallone from the movie "Cobra" (1986). Stallone was originally supposed to star in Beverly Hills Cop (the first one) as Axel Foley (or his name was going to be Axel "The Cobra" Cobretti). The script was changed for Eddie Murphy, removing a large amount of the action sequences from the movie. Many of those sequences were later used in "Cobra." The shot of Foley looking at the poster is a reference to this fact.
