Continuity mistake: An exterior view of the window in the building across the street that the Virtuoso plans on shooting from shows it is comprised of three square panes stacked vertically. When the Virtuoso is inside behind the window, it is one large vertical pane. (00:10:27)
Other mistake: The waitress said she got to Rosie's Cafe early and had to kill Rosie and the cook. She shot them and threw them down the basement steps, plus mopped up the blood before the loner arrived. The Virtuoso did not get there as early as he wanted to, but it was still about before 5:00 PM. He had briefly stopped along the road to ask the girl if she wanted a ride, and the waitress passed him at this point. The small amount of time the waitress was ahead wouldn't be enough time to kill and clean up. (01:35:30)
Character mistake: Still, not knowing who "White Rivers" is, the Virtuoso returns to Rosie's Cafe and continues to accept the Waitress' "passes." The Waitress was flirting (a mild term) with the Virtuoso from the time he first entered Rosie's. In addition to not abiding by his "do not get distracted" rule, he fails to even consider the possibility the Waitress was "White Rivers." Allegedly filling in for Rosie at the time given for the hit, plus her persistence in pursuing him, should have been a big red flag. (00:51:54)
Other mistake: When the (impostor) Sheriff came into Rosie's Cafe, the Waitress said, "Deputy Myers" and asked him how he was doing. The Sheriff asked about (Aunt) Rosie, who the Waitress said went home sick. The Waitress offered the Sheriff some pastries and was talking to him for a while. (The conversation was not disclosed at that time.) The Waitress didn't give any indication that she did not know the Sheriff, but the Virtuoso later asked her how she couldn't know the Sheriff in such a small area. (00:34:01)
Factual error: The Deputy's identification had "State of Pennsylvania" written on it. Pennsylvania is, of course, a state, but most (if not all) official/ legal documents are marked "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania." (01:17:05)
Factual error: The Sheriff's car had "POLICE" written across the rear end, but with the exception of Allegheny County, deputies in Pennsylvania do not have police powers. They are County employees who carry out court orders (e.g, serving warrants and subpoenas) and work in court houses keeping order. They also transport prisoners and issue gun permits. It would be atypical for a Deputy sheriff to do routine patrol like Deputy Myers was doing. The sheriff's car should have had "municipal" or government plates. (01:16:18)
Continuity mistake: When the Virtuoso returns to his car parked behind the stable, it is once again not how he parked it. The passenger side is no longer aligned with the inner side of the white support beam - it extends slightly beyond the outer side of the beam, and the passenger side mirror is entirely outside of the beam's edge. (01:18:21)
Continuity mistake: The chairs at the counter in Rosie's Cafe are neatly paced with their backs against the counter (with the one on the far right out a little) when the Virtuoso enters, but some positions change during his stay. For example, the middle one and the last one are pulled back at different times. No one at the cafe is moving them. (00:31:17 - 00:31:55)
Character mistake: During the planning stage, the Virtuoso said (narrating), "You have to hit a two-inch moving target on a car going 60-plus miles per hour from 50 yards away." He was watching the CEO drive past the window to where he parks in front of his business. The CEO was shown taking a sharp turn at the intersection and squealing his tires, but the location was inner-city with short blocks and traffic lights. Downtown busy streets with pedestrians do not allow (or enable) drivers to reach high speeds. (00:10:30)
Other mistake: After entering Rosie's Cafe, the Virtuoso, narrating, says, "You pick a seat that lets you keep an eye on both men but leaves your back vulnerable." He then sits at a table in the far corner with only a lamp on a small stand/desk behind him. The Virtuoso's back would be INvulnerable, and he should not want to sit anywhere that makes him "vulnerable." (00:31:50)
Character mistake: One of the Virtuoso's rules is "no distractions", but he stops along the road on his way to the next mission and asks The Girl if she'd like a ride. (00:28:34)
Continuity mistake: When the Virtuoso goes into the kitchen at Rosie's Cafe, he sees three knives - two almost side-by-side with a third one between but below the two. When the Virtuoso goes to pick up a knife, there are now three knives side-by-side with a fourth one below the middle knife. (00:53:16)
Revealing mistake: Much of the cemetery scene with the Mentor was "green screened." The backgrounds were inconsistent (e.g, trees and tree trunks) and sometimes the Virtuoso's and Mentor's head were practically together when facing each other. The sizes of their heads also varied at times. The Mentor also was at an angle to the Virtuoso during his long speech, at least giving the impression that he was using cue cards to remember his lines. A couple times, the Mentor looked like he lost his place. (00:15:24)
Other mistake: The Virtuoso kept a large bag (50#?) of dog food outside near the front door of his cabin. The Waitress put another bag beside the first one. Especially in the woods, food should not be stored outside - wild animals would quickly smell and devour it (if mice/rats did not get to it first).
Continuity mistake: The Mentor slid a folded piece of paper across the desk to the Waitress; the crease was to her left. When the Waitress picked up the paper, the crease was facing her and the note opened toward the Mentor. (01:38:31)
Factual error: Waiting in his car to see if the "impostor" sheriff will leave the farmhouse, the Virtuoso looks into the passenger side mirror and is able to see the truck, car, and sheriff's car parked alongside the front porch. Even if the mirror were turned out as far as possible, it would not be able to capture the vehicles as shown. At most, the other part of the house and/or the side of the stable would be visible using the mirror. (01:18:22 - 01:19:04)
Continuity mistake: The Virtuoso backed his car against the stable at the farmhouse, and the passenger side was aligned approximately with the inner side of the white support beam. After the Virtuoso removed weapons from his trunk, the car was further to his right - about a foot away from the white support beam. (01:05:07 - 01:05:38)
Continuity mistake: At Rosie's Cafe, the Virtuoso tells the Waitress to "leave the [coffee] pot", and she does. After the Sheriff enters, he looks toward the Virtuoso and the coffee pot is on the table. When the Sheriff looks a second time, the coffee pot is no longer on the Virtuoso's table. (00:32:58 - 00:34:30)
Continuity mistake: The "White Rivers" note that the Mentor gave the Virtuoso at his home is different when the Virtuoso goes home and is placing it in the fireplace. "White Rivers" is now written in the upper portion of the folded paper. Instead of "White Rivers" being written on the same line, the words are written diagonally with "Rivers" indented below "White." Unlike the original note, "WHITE RIVERS" is in all capital letters. (00:25:05 - 00:25:26)
Continuity mistake: The Mentor passes (slides along his desk) the Virtuoso a piece of paper folded lengthwise with the crease toward the Virtuoso. When the Virtuoso reaches for the note, the crease is still facing him, but the fold has changed to the adjacent side. "White Rivers" is written near the bottom of the paper, with the crease above. (00:25:03)
Suggested correction: When The Vitruso reaches for the note, the crease is still facing but the fold did not change to the other side. The note has "the hit" info on the outside and "White Rivers" on the inside.
