Under Siege mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the helicopter lands we see it is sitting over the white circle of the landing zone on the back of the ship. Later, right after the F18 is shot down, we see an aerial view of the ship with a small part of the back cut off, but part of the landing zone circle is visible and there is no helicopter. Continuity mistake: In the captain's cabin just before Commander Krill shoots the captain, the cigar is in his left hand as he pulls the wag off the pistol, but when the shot changes to a closeup of Krill shooting, the cigar is in his mouth with no time to get there. (00:21:25)

Continuity mistake: Before Admiral Bates first speaks to Strannix, there is a dark-haired marine in a green uniform on his left. When Bates raises his hand to signal activating the audio to speak, Captain Garza (black uniform and silver hair) is suddenly on his left. Then it changes to another camera angle and the marine is back next to Bates. (00:36:40)

Visible crew/equipment: When the bad guys enter the galley when searching for Cates and Ziggs, after they yell "clear" a boom mic is visible in the top left of screen. (00:46:10)

Revealing mistake: When Ryback busts out his fellow mates and hands out weapons to them, the Uzi given to one of his mates does not have a magazine in it. (01:02:20)

Deliberate mistake: When the terrorists attack the ship the shot then goes to an external view of a Marine getting shot. The Marine falls but you can actually see him jump. (01:23:55)

Factual error: In the last scene, where Chief Ryback is at his captain's funeral, he's in his dress blues, and you can see his rating insignia to see that it is not of a cook (Mess Specialist/MS, now known as "Culinary Specialist/CS"), but that of a Yeoman. While in general, this still matches up with the history of the character (where Krill mentions that he could only be a cook or a yeoman after losing his security clearance for punching out his OIC), he wouldn't be cooking, he'd be doing office work. Plot hole: An American battleship with an active supply of nuclear warheads on its missiles would in no way allow a helicopter full of strangers to land and deploy without those men being screened for any weapons by the security guards on the ship (even if Krill already knows).

Continuity mistake: When the man tries to attack the terrorist while being moved to their "prison", Strannix shoots the man next to the one who attacks, saying something like "If you try anything we will shoot you and the man beside you". In this scene he is wearing a black sweater. In the scene before and after he is wearing the pink T-shirt and leather jacket.

Continuity mistake: In one sequence (in which Ryback tries to save the drowning sailors), Ryback is running with two machine guns and kills a bunch of bad guys, including one guy with a moustache and cap who falls down a flight of stairs. After the machine guns are empty, he pulls out a pistol, slowly goes into another room and, surprise! the same guy appears, gets shot and falls down the stairs! Its obvious they ran out of guys to kill in the film, so they just ran the same film twice to look more violent.

Plot hole: Why was an F-18 even sent to look for the helicopter anyway? Krill was the only one on the ship at the time that knew who was really on the chopper, the crew only knew about Jordan Tate, and the captain believes it's supposed to be a surprise for him so he's not calling anyone, so who sent the F-18?

Continuity mistake: The big black terrorist who always accompanies Stranix loses his grey waiter jacket when he and the other terrorists are herding the Missouri crew into the makeshift prison. You can see this clearly when he shoots a marine prisoner who tries to overpower him. Later, when he follows Stranix into the captain's office, he is wearing his waiter jacket again.

Continuity mistake: When Erika Eleniak and Steven Segal walk through the battleship and talk about her rule, ie. not killing people and not dating musicians, Steven has different types of the SMG MP5 in his hands. He changes from MP5 to MP5K and back in the blink of an eye.

Factual error: When the ship launches the missile to take out the satellite building in Hawaii they shoot a Harpoon missile. The Harpoon is only an anti-ship missile, and can't be used against land targets.

Factual error: Why did they send only one F/A-18 to look for the missing helicopter? There would usually be two - a lead and his wingman. I would have expected a Search-and-Rescue type or maybe even the U.S. Coast Guard.

Visible crew/equipment: Near the end of the film the prisoners are released. When the door opens water comes gushing out followed by 3 prisoners. You can see the water slide that the prisoners have slid down.

Revealing mistake: When Ryback jury-rigs a timed explosive to destroy the helicopter, he uses a tin of paint thinner which is expected to fall off a hand grenade, thus releasing the spring on the grenade. However, when the explosion occurs you can see over Ryback's shoulder that the paint thinner tin hasn't moved at all, and that the explosion occurs inside the helicopter, not where the grenade was placed.

Factual error: In the last scene, where Chief Ryback is rendering honors to his deceased captain, he is in dress blues, with a gold crow. Since the movie takes place some 2 years after Panama, and Ryback received either non-judicial punishment or a Court Martial at that time for striking an officer, he would have lost his "good conduct" rating, and the crow would have been red.

Trivia: Early on in the film an officer shows a copy of Playboy magazine to a crewman. Erika Eleniak was the centerfold in that issue of Playboy.

Question: Early on in the film Casey cracks a joke about "Andre and Boudreau going hunting down on the Bayou". He then delivers a punch line. The question is what does he actually say?

Answer: I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. I heard plenty of Beaudreaux - Thibodeaux jokes growing up. I haven't the faintest idea what the joke was supposed to be. I ended up here trying to find the answer. Under Siege just popped up on NetFlix and I haven't seen it since I was a teenager. I stopped the video to try to look up this random joke. If it's a real Southern joke, maybe it comes from Mississippi or Arkansas.

Answer: If you have the DVD and use the subtitles feature you can see he says with a heavy bayou accent "Where're the guns, Druillet?" and then he repeats it. It must be a southern thing.

Answer: It doesn't mean anything actually it's just dialogue they made up for the film with no actual meaning.
