Continuity mistake: When Andy plays with his toys, just before he goes to Cowboy Camp, in one shot Buzz rides off the scalectrix on RC, and hits Hamm, and RC flies over the bucket Hamm was standing on and goes way out of shot. Seconds later RC is now beside the bucket. (00:09:00)
Continuity mistake: In the wideshot when Andy's mum puts Woody on the top shelf, there is nothing visible under the books. Then moments later Woody discovers Wheezy under the same books. (00:09:15 - 00:11:40)
Continuity mistake: After his arm has been ripped the first time, Woody doesn't seem to be able to use it. But when Al carries Woody into his building, Woody uses both arms to hold open the bag. (00:09:40 - 00:17:40)
Continuity mistake: With upgrades in animation the house Andy's family moved to at the end of the first film has undergone some slight changes. The house is still the same general shape, red in color and with the doors and windows in the same place. But the Toy Story 2 version gained an arch above the front door. Also, in the first movie the house was in front of some large pine trees, there was a straight path from the door to the street, and there was a wooden fence in the front yard. In Toy Story 2 the fence is gone, the path from the front door bends toward the driveway, and the pine trees behind the house are replaced by generic types of trees. The house also is much more detailed (as is most of the animation compared to the first movie), allowing the shading of the brick pattern to come in. (00:10:25)
Continuity mistake: When Woody rides Bullseye for the first time, they ride past the cardboard box and the front flap is up. Then when Bulleyes goes to get Stinky pete out of the box, the front flap is now down. Then when Bulleyes turns Pete's box around, the flap is up again. (00:21:00)
Continuity mistake: When the characters are crossing the street to get to the toy store, Mr. Potato Head gets his foot stuck on some gum. From the first angle, the gum is at the half way point of the rolling cement drainage pipe. When he barely escapes, the gum is near the lip of the pipe, a foot or so from the end. As the gum sticks to the passing pipe, it appears to be half way between those two points. (00:38:15)
Continuity mistake: When Woody is in Al's apartment thinking about leaving with the gang, he rubs the brown paint off his boot and looks at the name "Andy" written on it. The direction of the name is written differently, than when the cleaner first painted over it. (00:42:00 - 01:07:00)
Continuity mistake: When the toys first enter Al's Toy Barn, the Pixar ball can be seen in the lower left corner. Yet when Buzz is on the roller monkey trying to catch up to Al, the ball has moved to the right corner. (00:55:33)
Continuity mistake: When Evil Zurg first busts out of his box he looks at Buzz Lightyear running across the parking lot at Al's Toy Barn. Through Zurg's viewfinder, you see Buzz run across a white pair of painted parking lot lines, but when you see an overhead view of Buzz running, he hasn't reached that pair of white lines yet. (00:55:35)
Continuity mistake: Just before the other Buzz activates his anti gravity in the lift shaft, you can see that the lift is nowhere to be seen in the darkness, yet when Buzz and the other toys fall, they only fall a short distance before landing on the lift roof which is now highly illuminating the whole lift shaft. (01:00:00)
Continuity mistake: When Woody asks Jessie to give him 'a little intro' when he is in the box, there is a felt-tip pen by the door of the box. By the time he opens the door, the pen is now a few inches from where it was before. Woody then runs back into the box to get the polystyrene and when he runs back out again, the pen is now back to its original position. (01:00:50)
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the movie when the 'false' Buzz Light Year is running along the air conditioning ducts his 'New Utility Belt' disappears then reappears again. (01:01:55)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Woody slips off of Bullseye back in Al's apartment, After Jessie introduces him. Jessie comes along and tickles Woody. The word 'ANDY' is seen on the bottom of Woody's boot, This scene happens after Woody has been restored by the cleaner. In a scene later in the film, we see Woody scrape the paint away to reveal the word 'ANDY'. (01:02:00)
Continuity mistake: When Buzz and the others arrive at Al's apartment and try to persuade Woody to leave with them, in some shots the remote control isn't visible (when it should be), until Woody goes over to it and turns on the TV to show them 'Woody's Roundup' - also there is a roll of cellotape sitting a good two metres away from the remote, but seconds later the cellotape and remote are practically side by side. (01:04:00)
Continuity mistake: Near the end when the toys are chasing Al out of the building, Mr. Potato Head throws his hat to prevent the doors from closing. The other toys pass through this space running (seen in lateral view), even though the space the hat has made is too narrow for the toys to pass. (01:12:00)
Continuity mistake: If you look closely when Woody and Jessie are hugging on the plane near the end of the movie, in the green case, in Woody's styrofoam holder thing, his gun holder is on the wrong side, but you have to look really close. (01:18:45)
Continuity mistake: When Jesse and Bullseye are at Andy's house, the letters on Bullseye's hoofs are written so that when it says Dany, the A is on the front left hoof, D is on the back left hoof, the N is on the front right hoof, and the Y is on the back right hoof. When he switches the letters to Andy, the A and Y stay on the same hoof, but the D and N switch hooves. (Note, our left and right, not Bullseye's.). (01:22:40)
Continuity mistake: In the German Version: The group arrives at the Toy Market and a sign says "GESCHLOSSEN". The next time it is shown it says "CLOSED". (Geschlossen is the German word for closed).-It happens in the French version as well and in other Pixar films too. They arguably translated the most obvious words so that foreign people can understand, but they forgot some of them.
Continuity mistake: The movie released in Spanish cinemas showed the signs on Al's Toy Barn written in Spanish, but only during the first shots. Moments later they magically change to their original English text.
Continuity mistake: When Rex breaks the fort with his tail, Mr. and Mrs. Potato are behind it but they disappear a few shots later.
Answer: It isn't Woody's holster that's blurred, it's his hand. And yes, the blurred effect is due to the video tape's degeneration.
