This is the best DCEU movie to date. The film has a fun adventure vibe. Jason Momoa has a lot of charisma, and you can tell he really enjoys the role. The supporting cast is great and well selected (Willem Dafoe and Dolph Lundgren in the same movie? Who would have ever thought that would happen?).
Aquaman is a fast-paced superhero action-adventure that's got an interesting story, imaginative and sometimes stunning visuals, lots of action and even a few laughs between battles. The hero, Arthur/Aquaman, played by Jason Momoa, starts out as a brash and easy-going, fairly irresponsible loner type who never fits in and lost contact with his Atlantean mom at an early age when she was taken away for attempting to escape an arranged marriage and instead follow her heart. His half-brother, a ruthless, rage-filled, power-obsessed full-blooded Atlantean named Orm (played by Patrick Wilson), seeks to unite the undersea kingdoms and then lay waste to humankind for spoiling the seas! The story revolves around Aquaman's struggle to stop his brother from destroying both worlds and discover his life's purpose, the true fate of his mother, love, and the ultimate power below the waves-all while defeating a super-armor wearing pirate named Black Manta who's out for revenge! Like Wonder Woman, this DC adaptation of the comic book hero goes for being big on CGI storytelling and having some clunky dialog, but there's an earnest attempt to make the film enjoyable throughout and most of the mistakes and missteps are forgivable. It's a fairly fun water ride! Watch for Nicole Kidman as the stately queen of Atlantis, Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as the loyal Royal Visier Vulko, Amber Heard as the red-headed and potent Princess Mera, Dolph Lundgren as her father King Nerus, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen as Black Manta, one of Aquaman's most enduring and notorious foes.
Arthur Curry: My parents were of two different worlds, and I was a product of the love that they shared. A son of land, and a son of the seas.
Question: Why did Arthur need to go to Atlantis to meet Vulko? We see Vulko coming to the surface multiple times, would it not have been easier to meet Arthur on land?

Answer: Because what they're looking for is in the ocean. The maps, the ancient texts and markers leading to the trident. It would seem odd to search for Arthur on land then return to the ocean.
