Pretty Woman

Visible crew/equipment: After the failed shopping trip, the manager takes Vivian to his office, and lifts a chrome pot to water the plant. The film crew can be seen in the reflection on the pot. (00:42:40)

Visible crew/equipment: Early in the movie we see Edward on the phone talking to Jessica. As Edward says "goodbye Jessica" we can see the reflection of a camera crew member squat down to the floor. This can be seen near Edward's right shoulder.

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Vivian is with Edward at the hotel room, they're talking while he's inside sitting and she's outside. You can see on the first shot it's day time and when Edward stands up and goes near her it's evening time already. (or viceversa)

Vivian: You have that sharp, useless look about you.

Trivia: The scene where Edward offers Viv the necklace and shuts the box on her fingers wasn't scripted - Richard Gere did it as a joke. You can tell because when he does it, Julia Roberts laughs and looks up and around (ie. at the film crew) - in the context of the scene there wasn't anyone there for her to look at. (01:21:45)

Question: Was the story about why Vivian became a prostitute talked about? She did mention coming to LA and not being able to get a job or have money.

Answer: There were no details other than Vivian's family was dysfunctional, and her abusive mother mistreated her by frequently locking her in the attic. Presumably, she left home as soon as possible. She turned to prostitution because it's more profitable than a low-wage job.
