Other mistake: During the dinner Slowik reveals that his restaurant does not have nor serve bread of any kind. Towards the end of the movie Margot requests that he make her a cheeseburger, which he does. Where did the buns come from?
Suggested correction: This mistake completely misses the point. The chef NEVER says they don't have or serve bread; merely that the guests will not be getting bread as part of his meal plan. The movie actually makes a point of repeatedly mentioning the fact that the restaurant is known for its high-quality bread and even shows us a plate of their bread for a few seconds. They have bread... chef is just messing with the customers by refusing to give them any with a pretentious justification.
Suggested correction: He didn't say they didn't have bread. He stated THEY wouldn't get bread for that evening, since it's a common man's staple, and they are not the common man. So, they get a breadless bread plate with nothing but dipping sauces.
Continuity mistake: Before taking Michael's mask, Corey calls Allyson and tells her to meet him at the diner at 9:00 pm. Later we see Allyson at the diner waiting for Corey, but when she checks her phone and sees Laurie is calling the time is 5:36 pm. (01:13:56 - 01:24:41)
Continuity mistake: RJ got into his van and drove parallel to the house, almost reaching the end (right side) of the house when he saw Pearl in front of him and stopped. When RJ got out of his van, it was parked near the beginning (left side) of the house that he had already driven past. Also, Pearl was standing in front of a fence, so it didn't make sense that RJ would be driving straight toward a dead-end. (00:57:07)
Character mistake: After Dimitri put Leena's wrist bands on for her (through the door slot), Leena said, "I want to do something nice for you; you can come in." Dimitri agreed, and Leena pulled up a chair to stand on (to be his height) and caress his face/ hair. When Leena bent in to kiss him, she banged his head against the wall several times, killing him. As a "Saarne Instituute" security member, Dimitri should know not to get sexually involved with or trust a patient, especially the most dangerous one. (00:10:29 - 00:11:29)
Character mistake: Laura is on the floor, screaming and exhibiting bizarre behaviour, so Dr. Rose Cotter goes to the wall phone to call for help. Instead of maintaining observation and continuing an evaluation of Laura, the psychiatrist faces the wall while making the call and even stares at the wall for a couple of seconds after hanging up. A patient's body language can/do help make a diagnosis, so the psychiatrist should keep her eyes on Laura. (00:11:20)
Revealing mistake: The views to the right and left of the truck on the road did not flow in the manner expected if they were actually there (as opposed to using a green screen). Also, as soon as a "stop" sign could be seen to the right, the camera shifted to the driver, who kept driving as though the stop sign was not there. The structures to the right of the truck were blue but became white when the camera shifted to a front view (not using a green screen). (00:01:20)
Revealing mistake: Luke points a flashlight along the side of the staircase, but no shadows are produced on the wall from the vertical posts. Luke points the flashlight in front of himself and produces his shadow on the wall behind (and the shadow doesn't look like the way he is holding the flashlight). After Luke goes through the entryway aiming his flashlight ahead, a circle of light is behind him. The power is out, so the flashlight is the only light source - except that used for filming in the dark. (01:03:00 - 01:05:25)
Continuity mistake: When Harry wrapped Lily's ankle injury, there was bloody wrapping below the duct tape. When Karl asked to see Lily's leg, there was no blood showing on the material below the tape. Also, Harry did not completely cover the ankle injury with duct tape like he did to keep creatures from smelling the blood on Lily's stomach cut, questioning why the creatures could not smell the blood on Lily's ankle. Factual error: The owl that JP was looking at made a "who who" sound. The owl may appear to be a Snowy Owl (one many people are familiar with), but it is a Barn Owl. Barn owls are not "true" owls and it is the true owls who "give a hoot." Barn owls don't hoot; they make a screeching or squealing sound which can be piercing (and eerie to some people). (00:32:50)
Revealing mistake: A white truck could be seen in Tamra's rear window, following her car at varying distances. After Tamra hit Randall on his bike, the white truck was still there but gone when the camera returned to a front view of Tamra. Use of a green screen - the truck could not have gone past the accident or "disappeared." (00:03:35 - 00:04:10)
Continuity mistake: Leila places Stephen's wallet in the corner of the tray, practically aligned with both sides, but the wallet is at an angle when she places his keys on the tray. (There's no indication that she bumps the tray or wallet when she sets the keys on the tray.) (01:06:20)
Factual error: The movie is set in the Northern Great Plains of the United States, and the tribe is identified as Comanche, but the Comanche were located in the Southern Great Plains, across present-day northwestern Texas, eastern New Mexico, southeastern Colorado, southwestern Kansas, and western Oklahoma.
Continuity mistake: There are orange traffic cones about 3' from each side of the front bumper of Sarah's car, but they are not always visible when they should be. In the right-rear view of the car, the left cone is not visible, but the car cannot conceal it. The traffic cone is visible before Aden is walking around the front of the car, but not when he is walking to the door. The tip of a cone is visible some distance opposite the rear passenger door, but cannot be the one near the front bumper. (00:01:52 - 00:02:55)
Continuity mistake: Solomon put the rope around his waist underneath his coat, but when he was walking through the woods the rope was tied over his coat. Also, the knot would start out in the front of his left side but change to behind his back even though the rope was loose (not taut) behind him. (00:01:55 - 00:02:26)
Continuity mistake: The monkey figurines (or charms) on the beads hanging from the rearview mirror change positions from being more horizontal (side-by-side) to vertical (one below the other, and at different distances). Swaying from the SUV's movement might explain some change, but the weight of the monkeys should have kept their positions more balanced (side-by-side or one at the top and the other at the bottom). Continuity mistake: After Ross is shot, he lies on the pavement with his head to the left of the white line, but later his head is to the right of the white line. (His body would not be rotated 180° by police.) His head is on the white line in between this discrepancy. (00:06:38 - 00:09:30)
