Continuity mistake: In the scene where Jack Boundurant is getting threatened/punched by Charlie Rakes inside the home of Cricket Pate: Rakes is holding Boundurant and severely damaging a single side of his face. In the next scene Boundurant appears with his brothers and the wound appears on the other side of his face.
Continuity mistake: In the scene at the cove where Suzy and Sam are talking after swimming, the flower stem over Sam's ear keeps changing positions. In some shots it's parallel to the temple on his eyeglasses, and in others it's drooping down over his cheek.
Continuity mistake: While Timothy is saying goodbye to his girlfriend, the girl's birthmark disappears in the shot.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Dodge and Penny enters Olivia's last known residence, Penny one of the door windows. She then gets access to the door lock on the inside and she opens the door. As Penny and Dodge enters, it is visible that the window is broken. This is shown both in the first and second shot. At the third shot it is easily noticeable that the same window behind them has been magically repaired, and is in a normal, unbroken condition. The fourth shot shows that the window is again broken. Continuity mistake: When the Fabricant of the future is told this is to remove her collar, at which point she is killed, they lay her back and her arms are at her side. They pull her to burn. Continuity mistake: In the first close-up shot when the Prince's aide is complaining about the salmon-pink clothes the Queen has given him to wear, his collar is buttoned closed. In the next close-up shot it is open with silver hook and eyes visible. In the third close-up shot it is buttoned closed again.
Continuity mistake: After Dave leaves the party that he and his friends go to after the movies, he's driving in the car. His phone is in the passenger seat and he gets a text message, the time reads 1:57. The shot changes to a close up on his face and when it changes back he picks up the phone and the time now reads 11:15.
Continuity mistake: After Pi Patel first meets Anandi in the dance class, he is shown looking at her in the market place. There is a little girl sitting next to the flower seller. She doesn't have any flowers in her hair in the first shot, when the shot changes to Pi and then shows Anandi the little girl now has a flower in her hair . (00:27:55)
Continuity mistake: When Arnold comes home after work, he always parks next to Kay's car in the driveway. As he does on the night Kay tells him they are going to the therapist's office. He is undecided about the trip and doesn't act to join her until after she leaves. Yet, when the taxi arrives to pick up Kay, there are no cars in the driveway.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Joaquin Phoenix's character is walking between a heavily wood-paneled wall and a window and banging on them: The first time he bangs on the paneling, one of the panels appears to split and swivel up showing white underneath. The camera briefly changes angles. When the camera returns to Joaquin Phoenix, the split panel is fixed.
Continuity mistake: When Bo Gentry is in batting practice at Turner Field, the PowerBall lottery prize value indicated at the top of the building changes from $540 million to $500 in the same scene.
Continuity mistake: Eden's hand and arm positions change between shots during the final scene in the movie, when she is kissing Adam.
Continuity mistake: When Maria and Lucas hear a boy crying out, Lucas rushes ahead, leaving Maria, who is badly injured in her right leg, to lag behind. But when Lucas reaches the boy, Maria is right beside them.
Continuity mistake: In the very beginning, the truck that hits the vehicle does so from straight behind. However, when they pan out, someone the truck is perpendicular to the crashed car. The snow tracks don't show the car that was hit swerving, and there aren't any tracks to show that the truck reversed either.
Continuity mistake: When Jeremy and the cop girl are shooting for practice, the amount of cans changes between shots.
Continuity mistake: The German and British airmen are looking at the Northern lights. From the rear the men are apart, but the front shots of them show them much closer to each other.
Continuity mistake: Dinner at Forestier's home, and Georges Duroy does not know which knife to use to eat. The asparagi in his plate are across the small pie in the wide shot, and in close-up they are arranged entirely on the side without his intervention. (00:08:20)
