Continuity mistake: In the football match between the Millwall gang and the West Ham gang, the team names switch places on the scoreboard between shots. You can also see the score points switch places throughout the scene behind the Governor and Arthur. (01:16:05)
Continuity mistake: When Ronnie takes Brandy out to dinner, when she asks him what his medication pills are, he holds them out for her to read, and as the shot changes from him to her, the position he's holding the pills changes from being held upright, to upside down. (00:30:25)
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Buddy is driving Felix to his old friend Charlie, just when the car starts to move, a filming crew of three people and also the camera are visible in the reflection on the car. (00:49:10 - 00:51:15)
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the film, when Elsa and Clive are burning Dren's things, Elsa finds some drawings that Dren did of her. When she first pick up the pile, there are four drawings in her hands. When the camera pans out, instantly there are several more.
Continuity mistake: When Marshall is colouring in his drawing of the Cheerleader the part of the skirt on his right is coloured in but when we look at it again he is just about to colour it in.
Continuity mistake: When the tour bus stops at Home Depot, the position of the front wheel changes between shots. Watch the lug nuts and 5 holes around the perimeter of the rim to see how the wheel rotates even though the bus didn't move.
Continuity mistake: When penélope Cruz is sick in bed, a strand of hair appears on her forehead on the last wide angle we see of her.
Continuity mistake: Liam loads a stretcher in a van. The interior is a Chevrolet. The outside view is a Ford with a bubble window and drives away. Then the next scene shows the gas gauge on a Chevy dashboard. But the worst is at the gas station. While he was filling the van you can see the "express" tag on the door, which is Chevrolet with no bubble window. In the next frame you see the side of the van. Definitely a Ford and the bubble window is back.
Other mistake: When Wes is running from the bad guys he hides in a St Patrick's day parade. No buildings that they pass have any St Patrick's day decorations or give any hint of this holiday, including the Irish bar they go into earlier.
Factual error: Carty and Elvis meet up and are walking up a street. This film is set in 1979 but as they get to the top of the street, top right of the screen there is a modern day Renault Clio car. (00:42:48)
Factual error: The license plate on the sheriff's car when he arrives at the factory is 5Q49926. In California - where the film seems to take place - that is a "Commercial" license plate issued to trucks and commercial vehicles, but law enforcement are issued "Exempt" plates which are 7 numbers.
Plot hole: At the beginning there is an audio recording of Thomas talking to the police. He explicitly says 'They killed her! They Killed my sister, my mom!' or something to that effect and that Thomas was arrested for the rape and murder of his sister and he killed himself in custody. At the end, his sister is killed and the little epilogue says that the sister's body was found in her brother's arms and when their mother found out about the 'death of her children' she killed herself. That doesn't make sense logically. Thomas was alive when his mother was dead, according to the clip at the beginning.
Continuity mistake: When Shavoo and Buddy arrive at the storage area, but before they open the cell, they clasp hands. The shot changes, and their hands are now down and no longer clasped.
Visible crew/equipment: Near the end of the film, in the parking lot, you can see the boom microphone in the upper left corner of the shot. This happens twice.
Plot hole: There is a scene when Terrence tricks Big Fate into touching his "lucky pipe". Terrence then plants it at the murder scene in order to rightfully implicate Big Fate in the murders. Terrence then goes to the police station and tells Beniot about his strange feeling that the perpetrator smoked crack while committing the murders, and suggests Beniot comb the scene again. Terrence's fingerprints were all over the pipe as well. He couldn't wipe his fingerprints off without wiping Big Fate's off as well. Since it is a requirement that all police officers have their prints on file and since Terrence isn't the officer to locate the "evidence", how can he explain his fingerprints being all over the pipe? After all that has happened, I would think he would have implicated himself.
Other mistake: Just before the ending credits, this statement appears: "He was buried with full Christian honours, in Westminister Abbey." Perhaps the extraneous comma in that sentence might not be as noticeable if Westminster had been spelled correctly. (01:38:15)
Continuity mistake: In the scene in the store, the clock behind Jemma shows the time as 10:20. In the next shot only a few seconds later, the clock reads 10:35. (01:06:40)
Continuity mistake: When Maynard is teaching Tony to shoot a gun, Tony fires three shots first. The gun's chamber closes as usual (meaning the gun still has ammo). We see a shot of Maynard, then flick back to Tony and the chamber is now open (meaning the gun is out of ammo). Tony then fires three more shots from an apparently empty magazine before being told to reload. (01:26:40)
Continuity mistake: When Cole fills the water jug at the creek, it is only about a fourth full of water when he caps it and hands it to Captain Burroughs. A moment later as they are walking away, the jug is almost completely full of water. (00:18:50)
Continuity mistake: When Walter steps into the cat poo he gets it right under the middle of the shoe. When he then lifts his foot to take a look it's stuck under the front of the shoe with no sign of poo in the middle. (00:17:30)
