Trivia: In the DVD commentary, Tony Martin (director) reveals that all the behind-the-scenes crew had roles as extras in the movie. One dolly grip refused to be in it, but Tony got lucky, as that dolly grip was the one reflected in the security guard's windows during the computer scenes. Instead of digitally taking him out, he left it it thus justifying his rule.

Trivia: When the people are at the Jewish Justice League, it cuts to a shot of a sign saying something like "Israeli Athletes Team." This is a reference to the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, where eleven Israeli Olympic athletes were killed.

Trivia: On the DVD, Veronica Cartwright's name or character is not listed in either the opening or closing credits.

Trivia: About fifty minutes into the movie, one of the other pageant contestants tells Becca Wasserman to make sure she uses "every girl's secret weapon, hairspray. It will make her a star." The joke is that the actress playing Becca, Marissa Jaret Winokur, gained sudden fame after winning a Tony for her performance in the Broadway musical Hairspray.

Trivia: It just so happened that on a day when they needed a wide angle lens to get a shot, for the over head view of Hank shooting through the wall at Nash, that the Spider-Man movie was being filmed only a few blocks away. The director of Spider-Man let the director of National Security borrow their lens long enough to get that shot, which was on screen for only about a second. (01:04:55)
