Corrected entry: In the early scene where Enders is in the hospital, the nurse gives him his pills in a plastic cup. Plastic was not in use in that manner in the 1940's and chances are the nurse would have given Enders the pill by hand.
Corrected entry: Quinn's men have fireproof suits, but the only time they use them they take them off just as the dragon reappears. The later expeditions ignore the suits completely, and they don't even attempt to use them when their castle is on fire.
Correction: Even if this entry is correct ignorance happens. Keep in mind that when the dragon attacks the castle, it happens quickly. We can't assume that the suits are in an area that is quick to get to. The suits could've even been left in the trucks used in the same scene. The only other expedition that would've made sense to use them would have been on the way to London. It's safe to assume that Quinn didn't have enough suits for all the men going so why would only at least 3 (the same of suits shown in the movie) men get them? Obviously the other soldiers wouldn't like that.
Corrected entry: XXX squeals the tires of his GTO on dirt. (00:49:10)
Correction: On hard packed soil it is possible to squeal tires on dirt.
Corrected entry: When the mother and daughter were in the panic room and the daughter was going through the containers you see M.R.E.'s (Meals Ready to Eat) in there. Later in the movie, the daughter needs sugar to keep up her sugar level but they couldn't find anything sweet. In an M.R.E. there is chocolate in each one. She would have known this because she opens one up which is laying on the ground as the mother is searching for something for her daughter.
Correction: M.R.Es have carbs which will bring up her sugar level. Diabetics don't count sugar, they count the carbs to determine how much insulin to take. Carbs metabolize into sugar.
Correction: The spirit of the error is basically correct, but as an ex-Army man who ate my fair share of MREs, I had to question the statement "there is chocolate in each one". This statement is false, as can be seen from the menu information provided at http://www.mreinfo.com. It would be more correct to say there would be something sugary/sweet in each one, but there are caveats here too. The Corned Beef Hash menu (circa 1991) for example, contains freeze dried fruit cocktail and cocoa powder, both of which require some prep work to safely consume and are not ideal for someone in a hurry (a person having a fit is likely to choke on powder or unmoistened freeze dried material). Speaking in general nothing can be said conclusively on what might be found in the MREs, but if someone can report on how the individual meals are labeled (or the case, so we know for sure what year or menu series these are from) then the contents could be known.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Melanie's dad is re-enacting the civil war battle, notice in the background the Union Soldiers are carrying a 50 state flag. At that point in time the U.S. didn't quite have that many states. (01:08:25)
Correction: Yes that true but this is a re-enactment that the community does for fun. They needed a flag as a prop for the war they are acting out so they purchased one. And besides that where on earth would they get anything but a current American flag. You can't simply go to you local wall-mart and say "I need your biggest 47 star flag from the top shelf please," sometimes you just have to use what's available.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Chris Marshall & Marisa Ventura's photograph appears on the cover of the morning newspaper, you can see Chris holding a leash with the dog positioned between the couple. Marisa's son Ty is not in the picture. However, in the scene where the photograph was actually taken, there was never an opportunity for the couple to be alone with the dog. Ty was always positioned between the couple, until the 'dog-walker' came to get the dog.
Correction: The picture is correct. Ty never was in there the moment the dog walker came, took the dog, and Ty left with the dogs. Then Marissa and Chris went to sit on a bench (when Marissa almost sits on the magazine with Chris' face), Marissa then spots the photographer and Chris and her start to leave and she realizes and shouts, "Ty," and then Ty comes.
Corrected entry: It is hinted that the aliens have been visiting Earth since the 1970s for recognisance purposes. In all that time, did they never notice how much it rains on this planet? Were the aliens flying over the deserts most of the time?
Correction: The info about how long aliens have been visiting Earth comes from the book Morgan and Bo are reading. This book is highly questionable as evidence, seeing how all of the information recited from it smacks of sensationalism, and a lot of it is completely false (like wearing tin foil on your head to avoid brain scans). It is therefore not certain that the reports on earlier visitiations are true. And even granting that they MAY have been true, according to an earlier correction it is possible that it is the contamination in tap water that is toxic to aliens, so observation of rain and clouds would not have revealed this danger to them.
Corrected entry: In scene 27 When Sy enters Room 511 he puts a sticker with the word 'Glossy' on it over the peep hole - in the next shot when he bursts into the room you can see that the sticker is not on the door anymore.
Correction: Its tough to see it but the sticker is still there when he bursts in.
Corrected entry: The first time Deeds watches the show that features him as a jerk, he gets up in bed and says "What's this?" His lips don't move when he says this.
Correction: The words, "what's this" can easily be said without moving lips. Plus, if you look at Deeds speak throughout the movie, his lips usually don't have much movement in them.
Corrected entry: Throughout the movie, there are countless references to the incident early in the movie at the U.S. Embassy in Zurich. Neither the U.S. nor any other country maintains an embassy in Zurich. The capital of Switzerland is Bern. Since most of the characters in the movie work for the U.S. government, they would surely know the difference between an embassy and a consulate. (00:27:34)
Correction: There are actually only two references to the incident at the consulate. The first one is made by Bourne who does call it an embassy but in his state it might just be a generalisation, and the second one is made by Ward Abbott who correctly identifies the location of the incident as a consulate.
If you mean the scene right after the consulate when he approaches Marie in the alleyway by her car, he does call it the consulate.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Jay and Kay are talking in the mail truck, there is clear blue sky over the left shoulder of Jay. The camera turns to Kay for him to speak and when it goes back to Jay the sky over his left shoulder is cloudy. (00:30:00)
Correction: You can also see the "clouds" coming out of a chimney or smokestack. It's just smoke, which can be produced fast enough to cover the area in question.
Corrected entry: After The Chosen One has fallen down the waterfall after his fight with Betty, watch the waterfall and you will see a whale fall down it.
Correction: This is very, very far too obvious to be considered trivia.
Corrected entry: After Thorak is killed, he reappears as a guard, walking down the palace-stairs with another guard and is only disguised with a artificial, cheap, black mustache on his face. (00:44:50 - 01:09:45)
Correction: Looking at the scene mentioned again, it becomes quite obvious that this is indeed NOT Ralf Moeller just playing another guard. Made even more obvious when his face contorts when one of Isis' women kills him. Thus not a mistake, definitely another actor.
Corrected entry: When Richard Gere is talking to the woman who saw the Mothman in her garden, when the camera is moving away at the end of the scene, you can see an engraving of the Mothmans face on the tree next to him.
Correction: First, pointing out something that's seen in the film is not trivia. Second, that's not an engraving.it's the burn mark left by the being.
Corrected entry: During the second Preston/Mary interview, when the two are facing away from each other, the camera cuts between close-ups of the two. During Preston's close-ups, Mary's face is turned to the side. During her own, she is facing forward. (01:05:35)
Correction: She actually does have her head to the side in her close ups. It's just a little difficult to tell with the angle she was filmed from.
Corrected entry: Recall that Lilo's excuse for being late for dance class was that she needed to get a peanut butter sandwich for Pudge the Fish. Now watch the very beginning of the first Hawaii scene when all of the fish swim in front of the screen. One of the fish is Pudge himself, carrying a peanut butter sandwich.
Correction: Pudge is visible for several seconds, it's too obvious to be trivia.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Lavinia storms from the dining table after throwing food at her husband and leaving her family stunned, she grabs the bottle of wine from the table and takes it with her. The camera then goes back to the table to show everyone's reactions and the bottle of wine is still on the table.
Correction: After Lavinia picks up the bottle, the next shot is Hannah and Ginger. They never go back to the husband. The bottle is not on the table.
Corrected entry: Red Queen is extremely conveniently programmed for the plot of the movie. 1. Rather than seal off rooms in a place she has TOTAL control of, (that by the way is designed to be isolated in sections for this very reason), she lets the infection spread to everybody in the Hive. She could have easily contained it in a small section of the facility. This is standard procedure in ANY biowarfare lab, there is no way she wouldn't be programmed to do it. 2. Rather than let everyone know the virus is loose, she just starts killing everyone. She had counter-virus available, why not let everyone know that they are locked in with the virus, but help is coming? The infected personnel would be hit with it only minutes after infection. If it didn't work and they died, they are still locked in. 3. Instead of calling Umbrella and telling them the virus is loose, she clams up and just slaughters everyone. This guarantees that Umbrella will ignore anything she has to say, and breach the Hive with a response team and release the virus, the very thing she is programmed to prevent. 4. When Kaplan is disabling her, she keeps telling him that it's a bad idea, but doesn't bother to let him know that shutting her down will release hordes of flesh-eating killers. 5. She just assumes that Spence, no matter how he got in to the T-virus storage has clearance to stuff it all in a duffel bag and walk out with it. She could have locked him in and double-checked with Umbrella. 6. The entire reason for her existence is to prevent the virus from escaping, while almost every decision she makes greatly increases the chances it will get out of the Hive. This is way beyond bad programming - this is highly advanced AI doing the exact opposite of what she's designed for.
Correction: She isn't allowed to help them since the viral outbreak was on purpose. Via the final movie.
Corrected entry: The conning tower of K-19 is pressure damaged in the scene where they take the sub to 300m, yet in subsequent scenes the tower is intact and in perfect condition.
Correction: That's coz the moment it ascends above crush depth the pressure on the inside caters for the outboard plates to buckle back out.
Corrected entry: In the opening scene, there is a zoom in of Rabbit's shoes, showing them dirty and worn out. In the next scene when Rabbit's on the bus home, his shoes are new.
Correction: If you watch the movie, you can see he gets his clothes from the dumpster, so if there is a gap between these shots he could have also found other shoes.
Correction: The cup is made of paper.
