Factual error: When The Jackal attacks Kathy, it holds her up against the glass with one hand. It then begins to swipe her with both hands, but she still stays up against the glass. (00:48:55)
Factual error: When McElroy and Fitz arrive at Anfield their car is driving through the Shankley Gates, but when they park their car, they are parking it near the Executive boxes entrance which is actually part of the Centenary Stand which is the opposite side of the stadium where they first drove to. Also at the end of the film McElroy walks off from one of the bars in the Kop Stand to his car which you can now see outside the doors. The Kop Stand is on another side of the stadium and there is no direct access from the Centenary Stand to the Kop. (01:14:20)
Factual error: Reference the rural scenes. In the 40s, barley fields did not exhibit large perpendicular tracks made by crop sprayers.
Factual error: Towards the end of the movie, Mary sends a hand-written note to Inspector Abberline. The 'r' in her name is written in a North American style, where she is European.
Factual error: The captain's rank insignia ("train tracks") sewn onto the right collar tip of the battle dress uniform of Gandolfini's aide is sewn on incorrectly. The train tracks should be angled on a diagonal where the upper part is oriented toward the neck and lower part toward the tip of the collar. The aide's rank is angled on a diagonal in the opposite direction. This is not a minor mistake - any vet would notice this at a glance.
Factual error: When Harry takes the drunken Mickie out of the club the doormen manhandle Mickie in a way a doorman would never treat a member of the club. (00:21:00)
Factual error: Ruthie gets impaled on a jagged shard of glass from a modern shower door, but shower doors are made of safety glass (since 1977) - when they break they don't leave sharp knife-like shards, only tiny pieces.
Factual error: One scene shows Muslims in prayer. There, the Muslims go from standing to getting on their knees. The problem with this is while in prayer, Muslims never go directly from standing to being on their knees. First, they would go bend over into a bow with their back perpendicular to their legs, then they would stand again, then go into prostration (on their knees while placing their forehead and nose on the ground) then they would go to to sitting up right on their knees.
Factual error: After the hitman Joe shoots Ed in his office and is placing the gun in Ed's hand, it discharges and shoots a hole in the wall. The appearance of the wallpaper around the hole makes it look more like an exit hole than an entrance hole.
Factual error: When Famke Janssen pulls the knitting needle out of her cast to stab her attacker, it makes a sound like a sword being pulled out of a sheath. It should not have made that noise, since it was between a plaster cast and her skin. (01:19:01)
Factual error: When the knockaround guys are riding in their rented vehicle from Wibaux, Montana, their license plate starts with a J and is followed by several numbers. In Montana, license plates start with one or two numbers, followed by a P or a T, then four more numbers and one more letter at the end.
Factual error: When Grace goes into the children's bedroom to wake them up to introduce them to the new nanny and maid, she takes the only lamp they had with her into the bedroom but light is still reflecting off the nanny and maid as if a lamp was still there. (00:08:20)
Factual error: When Mike first starts listening to the session tapes, the camera does a slow pan down the label on the box. Quite clearly, we can see that the patient's diagnosis is listed as "D.I.D.", along with a few names. Since the hospital closed in the mid 80's, it is not possible for her to have that diagnosis. Before the early 1990's, D.I.D. (Dissociative Identity Disorder) was known as M.P.D. (Multiple Personality Disorder). In later scenes it is correctly listed in the woman's files as Multiple Personality.
Factual error: When they get to western Nebraska, there are several scenes showing a mountain range in the background. There are no mountains anywhere in Nebraska.
Factual error: The horn on the LT's Range Rover is at the end of the signal lever not in the middle of the steering wheel as shown.
Factual error: In the end where Larry and Brian are sitting in the garage, one of them is watching a hit counter for their website, and the other is watching the news stream on the computers. When the reporter is walking up the driveway, she mentions that the site has had 18 million hits.. how did she know this? The SkullBocks server was inside the garage, so the reporters couldn't have checked before hand. And even if there was a counter on the website, they were getting 400 hits per second (1,000,000 hits takes 41 minutes). Assuming they looked at a counter, before the reporters left, it would have been a lot less then 18 million. In addition to this, when they open the garage door up, another reporter asks "How many hits have you guys registered?"
Factual error: The newspaper pictures are too glossy to be newsprint.
Factual error: When Donnie returns to his house to find a jet engine has landed on it, we see them lift the jet engine up with the crane. Yet his family, complete with 5 year old girl, are standing right in front of the crane. Plus workmen are milling around underneath and about 4 FAA officials come from inside the house. They are lifting a 2000lb jet engine, and all these people are allowed to wander around while it's 20ft above them?
Factual error: In the closing credits, Eva Mendes' name is spelled as both Eva Mendes and Eva Mendez.
Factual error: The Kiss of the Dragon acupuncture point, known as "Point 15," is in a delicate area of the spinal column, a little below the second cervical vertebra. It's a definite knock-out target in fighting, and it can even be a lethal target. But Jet Li's explanation that it somehow prevents blood from flowing away from the brain is pure nonsense.
