Character mistake: When Amy goes to Virgil's house to apologize, Virgil tells Amy that the tree is exactly 14 steps away. However he then leads her there by taking 17 steps.
Deliberate mistake: In the scene where Alicia Silverstone and Dave Foley are in the porno store, they cut to a guy standing behind a counter. All of the explicit shots of the videotape covers on the countertop are blurred out.
Factual error: The story takes place in the Pacific Northwest (Vancouver) in November and December. Washington may be known as the "Evergreen State", but there are still numerous deciduous trees - and deciduous trees have leaves that change color in Autumn (yellow, orange, red) and then shed (fall off), not stay green through December or into the new year.
Other mistake: At the very end, Alec Baldwin drives away and other cars follow him. Problem is: two cars after Alec's car, the green traffic light turns orange, then red, and the cars keep coming. In all, 6 cars go through the red light.
Other mistake: Louella Parsons walks out of a screening of Citizen Kane before it ends, but later tells Hearst that Rosebud was Kane's sled. She shouldn't know that, because the identity of Rosebud is only revealed in the final scene of the movie. And if she disliked the movie enough to walk out on it, it's improbable she went to see it a second time.
Factual error: While Nate and his business associates are driving around in downtown Baltimore, the Key Bridge (which spans Baltimore harbor) is visible in the background. The movie was set in 1954; the Key Bridge was built in 1972, 18 years later. (01:33:55)
Revealing mistake: When Tsukiko's neighbor has his eyepatch removed, the prosthetic makeup for his scarred face and eye looks incredibly fake and unconvincing, and you can tell his bulging eye is just a painted piece of plastic with fake skin around it.
Factual error: Hornblower's plan is to sail Le Reve south from Gibraltar to give him ample sea room before he heads for England. Generally, the prevailing wind through the Straits is westerly, unless there is a Levanter, yet Le Reve is shown on a port tack when it should be on a broad reach. The fog that comes up would not exist in a gale-force Levanter.
Factual error: The Charles Dickens classic "A Christmas Carol" was first published in 1843; and, although Dickens never mentioned the specific year in which this story is set, it is fairly obvious that he was inspired by the severe winter of 1840, when Great Britain saw sleet, ice, snow and below-average temperatures from early December through February. This made-for-television Hallmark Entertainment production (starring Patrick Stewart) is a faithful interpretation of the Dickens novel, depicting rather severe weather for Great Britain in December, with accumulated snow on rooftops and in the streets. However, despite the snow and bitter cold that is mentioned repeatedly throughout the movie, nobody's breath condensation is ever visible when speaking, laughing, singing or shouting outdoors. This is no doubt due to the fact that the movie was produced during the spring and summer of 1999.
Continuity mistake: When the kids enter their home soaking wet and run to their father on the first floor, the cigarette in his mouth disappears/reappears between shots.
Visible crew/equipment: When the housekeeper says goodbye to Shigeharu you can see the boom microphone on the right side of the screen. Next to the light hanging above the dinner table. (00:16:42)
Other mistake: The chain "securing" the lock on the boarded up "Metro Christian Shelter" is in some inexplicable way on both sides of a 4" board that is taut between two other parallel boards. However, when the men are using the bolt cutter, the right side of the chain extends from a hole in the middle board, and the left side goes around the side of that same board and then around a pipe that is not originally there. The board that is to the left is missing. (00:17:17)
Continuity mistake: During the scene when they are trying to bring Mr. Leniog into the rear of the door we hear them trying to open the door from the inside, shaking it rather violently. From the outside shots we hear the door rattling but it's not moving at all like it is from the inside shots.
Deliberate mistake: At about 1 hour 24 minutes, when Tom Sizemore is looking in the mirror, his injured lip goes from original right side to left side.
