Continuity mistake: Sarah Michelle Gellar is preparing for a date and switching purses in her bedroom. The shots are going between her and whoever she is talking to. One of the purses disappears then magically reappears.
Continuity mistake: The favorite family restaurant is "Enzo's" and that is the name in neon at the place. But during the confrontation with Nick and Mary in the car (in the rain) Nick says to never go back to "Sorento's." My guess is that they changed the name after filming the scene. (01:05:20)
Continuity mistake: When singing the song about what they would do if the monster came to their room in the night, Simon puts on Alvin's duvet/blanket as a cape. It then shows an imagination sequence where the blanket is a correctly sized cape to fit him. When it returns to the real world, the 'cape' is the size of his imaginary cape, nowhere near the size of the bed.
Continuity mistake: After the two main characters sled down the mountain in that boat, they all fall into the river. In the next shot, they come up from underwater, and the boat miraculously is right-side-up with no water in it.
Continuity mistake: When Pépé remembers the moment when the Old Man told him how to become wealthy, the Old Man is exactly as old as when he meets Garriss decades later, shortly before he dies. (00:48:25)
Continuity mistake: When Ed and Sherry get back together, you see a few shots of Rita, Sherry's roommate, watching them on TV and she's wearing a red top. Then about two minutes later, when Ed starts the contest you see another shot of her but she's now wearing different clothes, green dungarees and a grey jacket. Then later on just before Edtv is cut off, she's wearing different clothes again. Why would she change three times in one day? (01:43:05 - 01:47:15)
Continuity mistake: When they go to the famous writer's hometown, the mayor is taller than the writer then later he is shorter than him.
Continuity mistake: When Zach is talking to Mackenzie about Laney (right after it shows Brock farting on 'The Real World'), there are two shots. In the first, Mackenzie puts cream in her hair, and right away there's another shot but it shows her putting her eye makeup on. She couldn't have finished putting the cream in her hair so fast. Continuity mistake: During the scene where Ben is dancing at the gay club, his hands switch from being on his collar to down at his side then back to his collar.
Continuity mistake: When Hugh Grant is about to propose in the restaurant near the start, his girlfriend's hair keeps moving from in front of her ear to behind and back again with each change of shot.
Continuity mistake: When Mrs. Tingle is holding the diary in the classroom, you can see that her nails are short, but later in the movie when her right hand is untied by Jo Lynn, she has long nails.
Continuity mistake: In the shot where Cora and Ellen are in the car going to the beach, the blue car is a left-hand drive, as Cora is driving nearest the camera. However, in the rest of the film, it is a right-hand drive, such as in the shot returning from the beach. Cora is still nearest the camera, but they are travelling in the opposite direction. Continuity mistake: When Woody Harrelson and Antonio Banderas are fighting, Antonio's character is knocked down and his cornerman calls him Vince, not Cesar.
Continuity mistake: At the start of the movie when the family is sitting at the dinner table discussing their highs and lows of the day, the plate of food in front of the daughter changes. The first shot when she is complaining about camp, her food is visible as three separate items (meat and two vegetables). When the camera comes back to her, the food is all mixed together on the plate. When the shot switches back to her a third time, the food is three separate items again.
Continuity mistake: After Jamie Fox gives his line about how the blond policeman should be tried for attempted murder, it shows three quick shots of him. The first one is a wide angle of him and the sheriff. The blond cop is wearing a hat and sunglasses. It then shows an up close shot of him without the hat or sunglasses. Then it shows the wide angle again and he's wearing the hat and glasses again.
Continuity mistake: When the bad guy is taking photos of Dooley and his partner, there is one where the ticket is still in the window even though Dooley has taken the ticket off the window. (00:29:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Alicia comes out of the bathroom at the drive-up restaurant and seduces Brad, throughout the scene a piece of Brad's hair goes from being on his face to being fixed.
Continuity mistake: When Miss Hannigan, Rooster and Lily are singing "Easy Street" outside in the street, Miss Hannigan beats her fur shawl on the ground, and a large piece of fur falls off it. In the next shot, this piece isn't lying on the ground anymore. (00:50:55)
Continuity mistake: Jennifer manages to thwart the nefarious plan of the kids who want to cuff her in the subway. During the scene, Heidi Lenhart's left hand grips the bar in close-ups, does not in other shots. (00:27:20)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the opening credits, Crawford finishes doing the hair of a client and puts his hands on her shoulders. She says "Crawford, you're a genius"; in the wider angle, no hands on her shoulder, and they are back in the following closer view.
